Hey all you native Finnish speakers, I have a syntax homework assignment to do on Finnish. I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to give me translations of the following sentences into Finnish:

I play footbag.
I do not play footbag.
I am playing footbag.
I am not playing footbag.
I have played footbag.
I have not played footbag.
I have been playing footbag.
I have not been playing footbag.
I always play footbag.
I do not always play footbag.
I have always played footbag.
I have not always played footbag.
I might play footbag.

Does "ollut" have the same root as "ole"/"olen"? Could I say something like "Olen ollut pelannut footbagiä"?

Can you say things like the following (are they legal sentences)? If so, do they mean the same thing as their "standard form"?

Ole en ollut pelaamassa footbagiä.
Ole ollut en pelaamassa footbagiä.
Aina en pelaa footbagiä.
Ollut olen pelaamassa footbagiä.
Aina olen pelannut footbagiä.
Välttämättä en pelaa footbagiä.
Pelaa en footbagiä.

I believe they all have the same root, "olla" = to be. "ole" is only used in negative sentences, like "en ole..." = "I'm not.../I haven't...". "olen" means "I am / I have".

Can you say things like the following (are they legal sentences)? If so, do they mean the same thing as their "standard form"?

1) Ole en ollut pelaamassa footbagiä.
2) Ole ollut en pelaamassa footbagiä.
3) Aina en pelaa footbagiä.
4) Ollut olen pelaamassa footbagiä.
5) Aina olen pelannut footbagiä.
6) Välttämättä en pelaa footbagiä.
7) Pelaa en footbagiä.

Sentences 1, 2, 4 and 7 are "illegal". 1, 2 & 7 have "en" (=no/not) after the first part of the verb so they are wrong. 4 sounds like Yoda-talk. I believe 3 and 5 aren't really right but (imo) you could get away with those. 6 is legal.

Although it's pronounced "footbagiä" (or a Finn would write it "fuutbägiä"), it should be written "footbagia".
This is just a minor mistake, especially because there are no "ä" and "ö" in English, but I just wanted to point this out.
