April 8th
Finally feel recovered over my stomach flu. I went to the local Y today to shoot some hoops, and I did some kicks to warm up. Some local high school kid came up and he could do clipper stalls and legover kicks. I showed him some real freestyle, and he seemed interested, so I told him about .org, and gave him some tips to stall better. Hopefully I'll run into him again, though i've run out of Revolution bags to give away. I ended up playing pick-up basketball today, which was fun, but really hard on the body. Americans play so physically, often needlessly. I held up pretty well...I think I easily got the most assists. Everybody had real poor fundamentals, I was the only guy on my team (5 on 5) who was setting picks, boxing out, etc. I think there's a footbag lesson there too: don't try stupid fancy shit before you have a good foundation and understanding of the game. I know I was guilty of that when I was younger (both in footbag AND basketball), and I probably still am to an extent (but much less).
I had fun just messing around lightly with the footbag today. I was wearing swim trunks which hang low (they cover my knees), which was an interesting challenge. I predict that my body will ache horribly tomorrow, but hopefully next week I can start getting back into the swing of things. My ankle feels fine once warmed up, but I can't just jump into tricks anymore without warming up. This is probably a blessing in disguise though.
When I got home I watched the movie "Murderball," which I enjoyed. I took away a few footbag-related thoughts from the movie.
1. I really really should write a book about footbag. Better yet, somebody should really put in the time and resources to make a documentary about World Champs. I know there would be interest in outside the footbag community.
2. I'm glad footbag is relatively safe. You see these people who injure themselves doing motocross, skateboarding, etc. and it just doesn't appeal to me.
3. I really shouldn't bitch too much about my life or my footbag injuries, because really, I am so fortunate in so many ways.
I'm just glad I'm over that stomach flu, and that I could be up and about again. The ankle thing... even if it doesn't improve more than it has, it's at a level where I don't see it hindering my game in the future, provided I'm good about warming up. Hopefully it WILL heal up though...gonna keep stretching.

That's exactly what I've been thinking myself.C-Fan wrote:2. I'm glad footbag is relatively safe. You see these people who injure themselves doing motocross, skateboarding, etc. and it just doesn't appeal to me.

Body is still kinda achey from pick-up basketball the other day, and doing yardwork. Still, I got in a light session today which was fun. In other good news, my new G6s arrived today! $10 for S+H, and $15 for the shoes themselves. G-Units delivered to my door for $25, what a country.
Almost didn't want to play today. It was cool and windy out, and overcast. Very strange conditions for Tucson. Didn't feel real pumped up, and even just doing my warm up kicks, my legs felt real heavy. I had a feeling I wouldn't have long strings, so right from the start I pretty much just went for small combos. My legs eventually warmed up a little, but I never felt like I entered that zone where the body is just plain "ready" for shred. That zone where you feel up for trying anything, cause you know you have a good shot at it. Still, I was prepared for a mediocre session, given what bad shape my body has been in lately. Some footbag is always better than no footbag.
I kicked the session off by messing around with flip PS whirls. Strong ps whirl puts lots of pressure on my weak ankle, so I figured I could take advantage of my condition and work on the flip. I ended up hitting a few new combos using flip ps whirl.
*ps whirl-reverse swirl
*ps whirl-pdx blender
*ps whirl-tomahawk
I kept trying for ps whirl to pdx torque, and had some good looks, but no luck. I want to hit that, cause both moves are flip for me. Flip pdx torque felt decent today; I got pdx torque and bl. whirl all bs in os pretty easily. I tried lots of random stuff today on whims. Pdx blender bsos first try was a nice surprise. I also tried out my flip sailing for the first time in ages (Australia?), and was pleasantly surprised to see it still worked. Got sailing butterfly both sides, but not bsos. I don't think I had tried any double dex sets since I tweaked my ankle in NY, so they didn't come naturally midstring. I hit my best trick of the session on a total whim, and it shocked the hell out of me, but I'll mention that towards the end.
It felt like years since my last session, but I still remembered my best combo: flurry-toe drifter repeat, and that I'd try the "Sunil 2000" combo of flurry-leggy legbeater repeat. Before today, the only combination I had hit of flurry and legbeater had been flurry to hippy legbeater on one side. Today I managed:
*hippy legbeater-flurry
*leggy legbeater-flurry
*leggy legbeater-flurry-leggy legbeater! The 2nd legbeater wasn't strong enough to try to flurry out.
*hippy legbeater-flurry-hippy legbeater- ....fly-by on the 2nd flurry!
This combo is soooooooooooo do-able. The way I tried it today went flip-strong-strong-flip. That means the last flurry is out of my strong legbeater, which gives me a strong base from which to land it. I should be able to land it either next session, or the one after that. Hm, I just realized that the legbeater combo ends on my weak flurry, and my drifter combo starts with my weak flurry. Theoretically, I could overlap them. One thing at a time...
Coming close to leg-flurry repeat was a rush, but the highlight of the session was hitting a new trick which I never thought I'd hit. On a pure whim, I dropped the bag to a clipper and........ #BAM# Spinning paradox eggbeater!!! Whoo! I suck pretty bad at spins, but I had hit spinning pdlo, gdlo, vortex etc before. But spinning in-out pdx dexes are easier than spinning out-in pdx dexes for me...whatever, in any case, I never thought I'd hit that trick, much less on my very first try! It was deep too. I doubt it will become a move I get consistent, but it's always nice to hit a new trick.
I closed out the session with my first furious set since my injury. It felt fine. My last string of the day began with janiwalker-ducking butter-ducking butter-tomahawk, and went maybe 20 contacts deep. Pdx blender, spinning osis-blur-paradon-diving butterfly-pdx drifter, some other stuff. It felt like just the right place to end the session.
Some random footbag goals for the future: jani-flurry. Hippy leg-flurry repeat. Genesis. Spinning osis-pdx drifter repeat.

Had a real nice session yesterday (April 12th).
Not wanting to feel rushed like my last session, I headed out a little early to play. At first it was pretty hot, but that helped me warm up quickly. I wore my Pistons jersey as an act of solidarity, since the Pistons were playing the Cavs. When I stepped out to play, it was a close game. Then I had a great session, and the karmic pumped-up energy vibe of my shred must have helped the Pistons, cause when I came back in, the commentators were talking about what a blowout the game had been since the 2nd quarter.
I did a long BOP string as my warmup, and I wish I had counted contacts, cause I flowed for a long time. I think I easily broke 50. My plan for the shred was to warm up using the Ilja bag, and then switch to my floppier Miki for the actual shred. My thinking was that I should be strict about my fundamentals (I want my BOPs to be strong), but then I could use the floppy for the actual shred. My thinking was that I should be strict about my fundamentals (I want my BOPs to be strong), but then I could use the floppy bag to just have fun and play loose. In theory this was a nice plan, but after I hit a few cool highlights using the Miki bag, I switched to the Ilja to see if I could hit them with a more legit bag as well.
Miki bag highlights:
*flurry-dod bsos
*A run with spinning butterfly, spinning osis, blur, drifter, and pdx whirl
all both sides.
*spinning swirl!
I had hit spinning swirl before, but I hadn't got it in at least 2 years. I'd probably only hit it a couple times ever, so to make sure it wasn't a floppy-bag-fluke, I switched to my Ilja. I stuck with it for the rest of the session, which felt good. It felt like I was "back" enough that I could get all my highlights with a very "honest" bag.
Ilja highlights.
*spinning swirl. Booyah.
*flurry-dod bsos. I actually got this twice. The first time, I think one of my dods was thin. But I managed to double bsos the flurry! So both flurries, twice in a run. I hit flurry-dod bsos cleanly again later just so of my dods was thin. But I managed to double bsos the flurry! So both flurries, twice in a run. I hit flurry-dod bsos cleanly again later just so I could say I got it.
*A run with flurry, dimwalk, blur, sidewalk, ducking butterfly, and spinning butterfly all both sides.
*Pdx drifter-spinning osis bsos.
*Blizzard-toe ripwalk-blur-dimwalk repeat!
*DATW i-o bsos.
*Blizzard-parkwalk-blur-dimwalk repeat to ripwalk-sidewalk repeat to ducking bfly-diving bfly...drop
*Blizzard-parkwalk-blur-dimwalk repeat, starting on the other side. Felt good to hit the weak pixies at the end of the combo. Played out of it with sidewalk-ducking butterfly, but couldn't get the repeat.
*A run with pdx torque bsos, then flurry, phoenix, blurry whirl, and blurrier (using diff step sets).
*Alpine legbeater-fog-pixie diving osis-pdx blender to start a run.
* The first 22 contacts of my Shred30 (all unique).
*Bubba egg-drifter repeat
Probably the combo I was proudest of all day was:
*Toe blur-parkwalk-blur repeat, and in the seal I had flurry bsos and ducking butterfly bsos. Weak toe blur is rare, and to hit weak parkwalk out of it...and well enough to blur out and continue? I hit 5/6 of it, and then tried again and got it all. Felt really happy about that.
After having such a lackluster session on April 11th, it felt excellent to come back with such a strong session. The fact that I could play so well using the Ilja (my roundest, and most legit bag) made me really feel like I've pretty much recovered. My ankle still isn't 100%, but when warmed up, I can play pretty much as if nothing ever happened.

No footbag today or yesterday. A small break is probably a good thing, but I'm definitely gonna play tomorrow. I had fajitas for dinner last night... I can't eat fajitas anymore without hearing Clavens in my head pronouncing it fah-JAI-tas. Sounds like a disease. Makes me laugh every time. CSS was such a great time.
Tonight I saw the strangest thing. In the Arizona evening sky I saw the Aurora Borealis. I know, if I hadn't seen it myself I wouldn't believe me either. But there it was. Like a beautiful greenish-blue gash in the night. I didn't think you could see the Aurora this far south, but I guess with a big enough solar storm, anything is possible. Really beautful, I don't think I'll ever forget it. OK, time to get to installment #1 of "You know who I like?"
You know who I like? Tuukka. I first met TKO at Worlds 03 in Prague. I had met Finnish players at 99 and 2000 worlds, and formed a very definite opinion of them. They all struck me as really...serious. They didn't mingle much with the non-Finns, they didn't laugh a lot, and in circles they looked like they were at work. So at Worlds 03 I was real pleasantly surprised to meet the "new" generation of finnish footbag. Mikko, Tuukka, Jere, Felix... they were all super enthusiastic, didn't drink as much as the old school, and were real outgoing. I liked them all off the bat, but the one I really formed a connection with was Tuukka. One of my best circles was with him. I was about to call it quits for the day when Tuukka asked to play with me. He had a bit of a crazy look in his eyes, so I couldn't say no. Our games were kind of similar back then, like a lot of our strongsides lined up. I had one of my most fun sessions, and I remember Tuukka hit one of his first ripsteins ever, which I gave him huge props for. He was so pumped up about footbag, it really made me remember why I love playing. At 04 worlds he was badly injured, but still sought me out to play. I was real worried he'd hurt himself, but we played, and he introduced me to Juho Marjo. At 05 I didn't hang much with him, but I do remember in one circle he said to me: "I'm gonna hit a Ken combo" and busted tapping dlo to smog first try. Nice. And then there was the whole jouloukalentari series... just beautiful. You know who I like? Tuukka. Good stuff bro.

April15th, 2006.
Had a delicious, but really heavy lunch today. Italian sausage and jalapeno sandwich, onion rings, and 1.5-2 pints of one of my favorite local beers: Kiltlifter. It was a great lunch, but since I ate late, it kinda knocked out the prime shred hours of the day. I only had 45 minutes of light, and I could still feel the sandwich in me. Still, I figured a light shred would be better than nothing, especially since I haven't played in a couple days.
I played with my iPod on the whole time, which was nice. I skooled BOPs with my Miki bag for the first 20-30 minutes. No milestones, but it put adds on the shoes. After a while, I decided to skool enterrage, which I had never hit before. Not sure why I picked that trick, but probably had something to do with my flip flurry getting so much better. I toyed around with lots of different approaches, and soon discovered that a high pixie set makes the trick really awkward. I had my best looks by doing a small pixie set (just like pixie butterfly) and then keeping my follow-through real tight and fast. Using this method, I hit my first enterrage! Whoo! I kept at it and hit another one a bit later, which was encouraging. 2 sealed enterrages in such a short session felt real nice. New trick of the day.
I spent a little time after that trying for fog/blur to enterrage, but no luck. I'm willing to take it slow. The real exciting prospect for me, is that my strong flurry ends on my strong pixie foot, so theoretically I could hit flurry-enterrage, which would be super cool. I closed out the session with some light, easy strings, but not much notable. Blur-smear-dimwalk repeat to some shuffle.
I listened to Elvis Costello's My Aim is True album and a couple Etta James songs, which kept me in a mellow, loose mood. That worked for today, but tomorrow I really want to get in a legit session. We'll see if I have time.

April 16th, 2006
Felt very reflective today, since it was my birthday. I have to say I'm not very happy with where I'm at right now in life, but things could definitely be worse. I have 3 years work experience, went to a good college, but can't seem to get a job despite my best efforts. Without a job, I feel like I lack purpose, and also means I have to live in Arizona with my folks. While it's nice spending time with the folks, I have no friends here and no social life. The fact that I have such good posses of friends in Tokyo, Wellington, NYC, Boston, and SF make this even shittier. Thankfully though, I have footbag. I really think I would go insane or become clinically depressed without it.
Didn't really do anything to celebrate my birthday today, so I knew I had to play some footbag. I wanted a memorable session, and I got my birthday wish. I started off by doing BOP strings with my Carol bag. I was real happy to get a string of 85 BOPs, which was a well-balanced mix of all three tricks. I switched to my Miki bag after my warmup, and hit:
*Down double down-barfly-pdx drifter repeat to ducking butterfly-diving butterfly repeat to a few more tripless. I liked this drill.
*Atomic torque!
Since I had never hit atomic torque before, I decided to switch to my Ilja bag to try and hit it legit. Using the Ilja bag I hit:
*atomic torque! Sealed with a run that had blurry torque, using the other torque.
*flip food processor-pdlo. My first time hitting a non-BOP out of flip
food.
*spinning pdlo! Whoo! Probably only my 2nd or third time ever hitting this.
*flurry to blender, both sides. Footed bsos.
*Hippy rubberman, replacing the 2nd blur with a fog (leg-blur-atom-leg-fog-atom)
*tapping drifter-blur.
*shooting butterfly-pdx drifter-blender.
After hitting a clean shooting butterfly (my flip is clean, but I rarely do it) and atomic torque, I decided I'd hit some 6 add tricks in celebration of me turning twenty 6. After hitting a handful, I thought it would be particularly appropriate to hit twenty six add tricks on my twenty sixth birthday. Here's how it went down.
*Both food processors
*Atomic torque
*Flip shooting butterfly (clean, sealed with pdx torque)
*Blurry torque bsos
*Whirligig bsos
*Fusion (I have trouble calling this a 6 add, but whatever)
*Diving pdx torque
*BS bed
*Atomic blender
*Shooting eclipse (first time ever? Probably)
*Pixie diving dod
*Locomotion.
*Big Apple! Hadn't hit this in a couple years, but I wanted some variety on this list. Sealed with a nice run.
*BS fog (had only hit this a couple times before today)
*Mullet
*Mind bender! I hadn't hit this trick in at least 3 years, so I was real stoked about this one.
At this point I only had to do one more 6 to complete my goal, so I gave it some good thought, cause I wanted to end on a memorable note. I decided against ducking superfly, torch-r-rack, or mofly because I had already put too much pressure on that ankle with whirligigs and mullets. I tried PS torque a couple times, and was reminded why I promised myself I'd never try it again. That shit is haaaaard! I can't believe I ever hit that. I wanted to end on that, cause it's one of the few 6s I invented, but it wasn't gonna happen. I decided I'd try to end on Fury, cause it's hard for me and uses a set I hadn't done yet today. It took me a bit, but I eventually nailed a good one, and had a tomahawk and a flurry (using the other barrage) in the seal. Booyah!
It felt good to have such a strong session today. Definitely the highlight of my day. I really don't know what my 26th year will bring, but I'm glad I'm going into it with footbag. Footbag has been a part of my life since 1997, and I could argue that its been the most important and best part of my life over that time. I'm just so thankful that I found it, and that even at 26 I'm still healthy and enthusiastic enough to keep playing at a high level and have fun. I've been so many cool places and met so many amazing people thanks to footbag. And I still get excited like a newbie when a session goes well. Thank you footbag, I love you.
*Mullet

I could definitely imagine the energy in the strong session you had Ken. It's really exciting to read that you hit so many good strings and 6 add tricks for your birthday!
Happy Birthday.
Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday Ken. How was your ankle feeling after all of that?

April 18th, 2006
Woke up yesterday with sore feet and achey sides. I don't usually do many 6 add tricks, much less a whole ton of them in a session. All the symposiums made my feet kinda tender, and all the torquing and blenders made my sides hurt. My ankle is doing ok, but the calf on that leg mysteriously feels weak. I decided to take the day off footbag and go swimming. My muscles felt strong, but my right hand started cramping up (please, no jokes), which forced me to stop soon. Geez, you turn 26 and immediately your body thinks it's quitting time.
My whole body felt better today. I swam real hard, which felt great. I think its excellent cross-training, and improves my stamina. I'm taking the GREs this Friday, so I've been studying a ton. It was my folks' 30th anniversary today, so between studying and the early dinner out, I could only squeeze in a 45 minute shred. But 45 minute shred> no shred.
I decided to only use my Miki-bag today, because I didn't want to be switching bags during such a short session. I also figured the Miki bag would make me play more laid back. To an extent it worked. It's definitely more forgiving to stall, but precise dex moves like grifters were noticeably harder. I did a good job of keeping my mental game throughout, and was surprised by the amount of good stuff I hit in a squeezed timeframe.
Highlights included...
*pdx whirl-blender bsos
*toebius-pdx blender. My first time playing out of toebius with anything other than infinity.
*spinning pdlo
*blurry whirl-pdx grifter bsos
*vortex (no plant), then mobius (plant) using the other spin, then blur-toebius all in the same run.
*GDLO (no plant), both sides! No luck on bsos, but I didn't have lots of time.
*mobius (no plant) both sides.
*paradon-ducking clipper-gdlo
Getting my gyro tricks on both sides without plants was a nice surprise. Since the pool is closed tomorrow (passover) and I had such a light shred today, I'm going to try and have a real strong shred tomorrow, and see how my spins do using the Ilja bag. I also have a bunch of spinning combos I want to hit.
Earlier in the day I watched an old DVD Erik Chan made me, and it made me wonder what happened to Juan Rangel, Bijan Eshnafanananfandarrii, and Rob Fuller. They were all so talented. I'm so happy footage of them was caught and put on video. Life, and footbag careers, are too fleeting. Part of me always hopes I will get on a big DVD, just so I can have a souvenir of this time of my life. Something I can watch when I'm older, point at and remind me of all the fun I had. Sick03 sort of fills that role, but I don't think that was my footbag prime. I'd say that this last year I've probably been playing at my highest level to date. That's pretty exciting, especially considering how long I've been in the game. But then, Kobe, AI, and Nash are all 10 year vets in the NBA, and are all playing better than ever too.
More words, more shred, more love tomorrow.

April 19th.
Yesterday's session was fun, but short, and I used the Miki bag throughout. I was encouraged by the flipside no-plant gyro stuff, so today's goals were: 1. Long session. 2. Use the Ilja throughout. and 3. see if my spins were a fluke/due to the Miki bag. I accomplished these goals and had some good highlight moments, but on the whole it was a bit of a rough session. I don't usually skool elements, but today I skooled gyros on one side. Not much fun, but hopefully it will pay off in the future. I'd loooove to have a consistent mobius. Even 1 out of 3 mobius would be nice.
Alright, onto the highlights. Everything done with the Ilja bag, and all gyro moves were executed without a plant.
*Stepping ss swirl bsos. Not hard, but I hadn't done it in a while.
*Ducking clipper-vortex to start a string.
*Spinning pdlo. This is still hard for me, but I know that I can get it once a session if I want it. Up until last week, it was a once-a-year kind of move.
*Pdx whirl-gyro mirage bsos. I liked this run, because I completed the bsos with: pdx whirl-gyro mirage-ss dlo-drifter-blender to a few more contacts.
*Flip blurry grifter! First time ever. Stoked, cause it uses my cleaner step set, and even though it's flip grifter (rarer), that grifter tends to be deeper too. Very happy about this new move.
*GDLO-toe spin mirage (like a gyro mirage). I was going for toebius, and had some other good looks, but this was the only move I sealed out of GDLO.
*Vortex-dlo-drifter-pdlo.
*Tomahawk x2 to pdlo-parkwalk.
*DOD swirl both sides. My first time hitting both in the same session. This would have been a highlight, except I hurt my injured ankle when it hit the ground on the swirl. It was a scary moment, but I think I'm OK. I should tone down my game for a week, and play it by ear for a few days.
*Mobius-pdx blender.
That last combo in particular meant a lot to me and felt like a milestone. Let me explain. My first exposure to real footbag was in 1997 when i went to a tourney in NYC. Right after that, I started downloading all the freestyle videos on footbag.org. Since it was 1997, I was using a slow dial-up connection, and it took so long to get even a short video, I had to leave the download running overnight. I'd start it before going to bed, then watch the video the next morning. At the time, the only video galleries were 2 clips from 96 worlds, and a bunch from 97 worlds. These were the only footbag videos on the internet, and the only videos I had access to, period. I remember being soooo blown away by them. I had to watch Tuan's clip (4/6 of rubberman, or half) over and over in slow-mo, and I still didn't understand it. These videos also contained the first fearless combo I'd ever see: GF hitting mobius-pdx blender.
( http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/141 ) 5 adds were still real rare back then (at least on the vids), and definitely out of my realm. So seeing somebody hit 2 5 add tricks, back to back no less... geez. The term "fearless" wouldn't even be invented for a couple years. That clip of GF really blew me away. Mobius would elude me for a few years, and even once I started getting it, it wasn't (still isn't) consistent. Only in the last few years could I get it with any regularity, and that was with a plant. So when I started getting good no-plant mobii yesterday, I knew what combo I wanted to hit. And it felt gooooooood. Shout out to GF, thanks for the inspiration.

April 20th, 2006
Like many other shredders, I enjoy "air-shredding" without a footbag. Waiting for the bus, in line at the supermarket, operating heavy machinery... sometimes I do it without even being conscious of it. Usually nothing comes of it, but occasionally I stumble across some trick (timing change, foot position, etc) which helps me understand a move better. During yesterday's air-shred, flipside pdx whirling swirl seemed to make sense to me. So naturally, that move was on the agenda for today's shred.
I take the GRE tomorrow morning, and the study book I bought suggested that I take the day off from cramming, and just relax. Translation: play footbag today. I felt excited to play, but my body didn't feel too good initially. My ankle felt a bit tight, and the left side of my left foot felt a little weird too. I decided I'd use my floppy Miki-bag all session, kinda take it easy.
Things started off pretty well. I started a string with ducking clipper-spin clipper repeat, then had a no-plant mobius midstring. After a few fun strings, I decided to give a shot at my flip pdx whirling swirl. I wasn't super-close, but I knew that I had no chance at it while using a floppy bag. So for the rest of the session I used the Ilja bag.
Sure enough, I came much closer to it with the Ilja bag. Not only does it set truer, it's also less likely to get snagged by the dexes. I found it helpful to think of pdx whirling swirl more like xbd symple swirl with an incidental whirl inserted in there, than as pdx whirling ...swirl. Make any sense? So I focus more on the second dex than on the first. It's really more of a balance, but I think it is closer to xbd symple swirl than pdx whirl. Hope that made sense to anybody. I had hit pdx whirling swirl strongside a few times before, but I never thought I could come close to flip. That's probably a product of having started playing in 97. Back in 2000 I saw my first pdx whirling swirl (Jon Schneider on Cali Connection), and it was mind-blowing. It seemed like the kind of trick nobody could ever get consistent, and the kind of move I would never get. The concept that I would ever be able to hit it on both sides never crossed my mind.
I really never thought I'd hit it either side, but when I did (Nov 05 in Australia) at least it used my strong swirl. But I felt lucky today, so i kept at it... and hit it! Holy crap, flipside pdx whirling swirl! Amazingly though, that wasn't even the biggest highlight of the session.
Highlights, all with the Ilja bag.
*Flip pdx whirling swirl (sealed)
*Matador bsos, sealed with a run that had a flurry, pdx torque, and darkwalk.
*GDLO (no plant) bsos again! No seal, but it was legit.
*Alpine leg-spike hammer! First time getting this combo. In the seal I had ripwalk-blur, then later I had the other ripwalk-blur-dimwalk-blur-dimwalk-ripwalk-pdx drifter, then later I had dive butterfly to the other pdx drifter, and a pdx torque in there somewhere. I felt real strong during this run, probably my best of the session.
But the biggest highlight of the session was...
*Flipside blurry whirling swirl! Whoo!
I was really really pumped about getting that trick. Cause while pdx whirling swirl always seemed out of my reach, blurry whirling swirl was even worse. This is a trick that was cool enough to be the final clip on Raw Shred! When I first hit this trick, I felt like I had reached a milestone. But to hit it flipside? Completely unexpected. But there it was, hit, flip, and deep.
At the end of the session, I felt like maybe I had pushed my body a bit too far. The ankle has taken a step back in its healing process, but it isn't in terrible shape either. On the whole, I'm glad I played today. Playing footbag relaxed me, tired me out (so I'll sleep well tonight), and boosted my confidence going into tomorrow. I seriously don't know what I'd do without it.
One last thing: flip blurry whirling swirl! Whoooooooo!
That is all.
