Self-employed footbaggers unite!

Post by Wim »

Helleu modified,

I don’t know if there is a thread like this one already, anyway, I looked and couldn’t find one. The idea for this sort of sprang from necessity. Let me explain.

I’ve just set up a business as a self-employed translator and, as I am a poor and lonesome cowboy, I am using all the media I have at my disposal for exposure. Then I was thinking: ‘hmm, a little clandestine advertising on modified allows for exposure to heterogeneous groups of people from all over the world’. I’m sure people who are in a similar position as me feel the same. So I figured, why not start a thread where people who feel that their small firm could use a boost can do a little name checking/advertising. So if you’re looking for, say, a website builder, you can first look in this thread if there are any in the footbag community. One little family - If you scratch my back, … so to speak.

Is that a good idea? If not, I’m sure a mod will bin this thread :-)

Anyway, here is mine: I’m a self-employed translator who translates-makes-corrects texts in both English and Dutch. You can visit my website on http://users.skynet.be/deveerman (click on ‘English version’ in the top right corner if you’re not so familiar with Dutch ;-). If you know anyone –colleagues, friends, fellow-students- who might be struggling with a text in either of these languages, think of old Wim. ;-) I would be forever grateful.

I like the idea.
