Lacing Laver's

I've been searching the internet, and must have come across at least 6 different ways of lacing. I just got my lavers in, did the mod, and am now looking to lace them up.

Which way do most of you recommend?

Good question, I just got my lavers as well and was wondering. I tried out one of the lacing techniques but it doesn't really open the toe box at all, and I was under the impression that was what it was for.

uhm i used option number two (from footbag.org) and love it:

Start in the fourth hole and pull the laces up through that hole and lace them normally through the 4th, 5th, and 6th, but stop at the 6th (just bringing it up through the 6th). Then, take the laces from the 6th, down through the 3rd, and back up through the 2nd. From the 2nd hole (always counting from the TOE) go way up to the hole 7th closest to your ankle. Go down through that hole (inward) And once each lace has gone through the 7th hole take them up through the opposite seventh hole.

Try one of them that you like the most. Try it out for awhile, then try your own and see if you like it better, if not go back to your original lacing.

That's what I did when I first began.

Well, I ended up doing method 2, and let me tell you, its rocking! It didn't look like it opened the toe, but now that I'm starting to wear them in (Wore them to work like this) their breaking in and the toe is opening up. Oh, and these shoes combined with a good sack like the one drew made for me, stalls are as easy as walking. i need to get the hop down to get from toe to toe, but lavars + good bag = alot more fun than it used to.

if u go to hood.012webpages.com it has my favorite lace mod and opens the toe up more than any i have seen or if u want to cut your shoe they have a great tubing mod

It works alright, but I find that the toe box has a tendency to close up after playing for a while.

It seems to work better than the method I used. I am planning to try it out at some point.

Also, it helps to keep a floppy disk or cassette tape jammed in the toebox when not wearing them. It makes the material stay in place better.

I use the 1st method from footbag.org, for me it opens up the toe a lot more, or is this because I have cassete teps in the toe?

Thats another good way to keep a good open toe box.

I used method 4 the Kenny shults methiod and i love it myself great towbox and nice high inside walls on the lavers.

my laves have 8 holes and this method only works for 8 holes shoes (it depends on shoe size my happen to be 11 1/2).

i start 5th hole from the bottom and you put the laces in from the inside than i had them cross over to the other side (still fifth hole) and put them in so thats from the ouside then you go down one hole (fourth hole) and put it in (which is from the inside) and make those go to the opposite side (still fourth hole).

so now if you your very neat/organized it will look like you got 2 straight lines of lace. Now i guess before you go any farther you should put on the shoe and make it comfortable where its not too tight or too loose, youll understand why when you put on the shoe.

so now you go down one more hole (third hole (going from the inside)) and you bring that lace up to the sixth hole (going from the ouside). then you go up a hole (seventh hole(from inside)) and you bring that down to the second hole (from outside).you then go down one hole (first hole (from inside)) and you go all the way up to the eighth (that how you spell it?(from outside)).

now you able to just tie them off or... what i did was bring that lace to the other side (8th hole). so now that when you tie off your shoes its from the outside, but i noticed a problem that when i practiced footbagging my tongue would slide down so how i fixed this was when i did the final step (the one where your at the eighth hole and go to the other side (which doesnt necessarily have tobe the last step depending on where you stop) i went through the loop that's in the tongue of the shoe.

well vwala your done. you can easily adjust the size of your toe area depending on what you want with just pulling up the lace. you might want to tighten or loosen some of the lace. ill try and get a pic posted when i get batteries for the digital camera. i personally think the shoes look awsome.

I just cut off the last two eyelets on each side and lace my shoes normally. It seems to work fine for me.

I can't stand the shoe lace modding techniques...I have cut the eyelets, and tried virtually every lacing method available...Turns out, I like having the first shoe lace hole empty, and just lacing the rest of the shoe as neccessary...Bigger toe, and the bag gets caught enough on the little ridge created.

However, I have cut the inside stalling surface of my lavers out, what a difference though....
