Master Pete's footblog 06

Post by Pete »

Hey everyone!

summer is almost here to i can now shred outside after a very long winter.
so i figued i would make my own footblog to see how my progress goes along this summer.

for about 10 years or so, i was a very newb hackysack player. i could do the knee kick and the toe kick only on my left leg. then when i got to college, 2nd year, some of my friends were hacking in the parking lot so i joined and in a month, i was better than ever and i was surpassing most of them. then, i decided to check the www for footbag tricks and i found worldfootbag so i bought a sandmaster and i then mastered stalls.

once i got that bag, it sparked my interest in footbag from a hoby to a sport.
after my good friend got some lavers and his own sandmaster, we started kicking every min we could durring breaks and after class.

and since i didnt have tons of money to spend on a 32, i checked here and saw that we could make our own! omg! so i then made 30-40 since last may.

-. i'll write up what moves i can do and what i want to get by then end of the summer.

BTW: YOU CAN COMMENT ON MY PROGRESS AND ASK ME QUESTION ENCOURAGEMENTS. THANKS!

god i need more ppl to shred with!! school is killing my time. i wonder if i can get a 4square going at school. all i need is some chalk and 3ppl. hmmm.

anyways, today i hit a double pendulum. it was so fucking cool! i know they're cheap moves but for me, it's pretty cool. last week i couldnt even do 1 pendulum and when i did, they would go to the right like 45º off. it sucked. now they're pro.

what moves should i perfect this month? i'm thinking rewatching the tricks of the trades 1add and 2add moves and trying to master them all. what do you think?

sudbury. like 3-4hrs from mississauga depends how fast you drive i guess.

I wish i lived in a big city because i'm constantly looking for footbag freestyle players around here.

so ANYONE, if you're near, or in SUDBURY, or plan to visit, let me know! we could organize a shred session or a 4square competition! 8)

me and my buddy found a sweet place to shred but it's too warm somedays.
it's in an outdoor arena. in the summer, it's unused so we have a HUGE play field. i'm thinking about setting up a 4square game there soon before everyone leaves for the summer. :)

woo. i just noticed that my right knee isnt fucked up anymore. or atleast i dont think it is. i can do right side moves now.
***
last year, durring the summer, my knee poped a few times and once while shreding with my friend. he was like 2-3meters away and he heard the sound it made as i fell to the ground. since then, i couldnt do right side moves. which REALLY sucked.
***
now, i feel like i'm getting beter every day.
and tonight, i decided to make a footbag for my gf so she could shred with me!! a nice little 4panel footbag. hope she likes it!
***
also, today was insanely hot outside. was such a blast to get to play at school(college)

Hey i've got into freestyling not so long ago too.
You should get you around the world (in and out direction's) on both leg's and legover's,pick up's,mirage's and illusion's that's the basic stuff, geting all this moves both sides will take some time.Check out the job's notations if you dont know how this trick's are done.
I'll keep reading your blog :) to check up on you

got my clipper stalls half way good. i got my friend to show me how. mirage are on the way. ever since my right leg is back, i can feel that i'll get many many tricks this summer.

****

i also got my gf into footbag. she liked the footbags themselves but she never got into the game. so thursday, i took her out, and i showed her the basics. she was learning pretty fast. she can already do a clipperstall to a ducking symposium mirage around the world. haha. just kidding. but she is good at the kicks and she almost got her stalls mastered.

****

more to come in may. peace!

well last summer, my right knee poped. and since then, i couldnt do right side moves because it hurt to just do right inside kicks. (i started on my left so thats probably why) ...

and well since i didnt do too much right leg exercise this winter, it seemed to be allright. like i played from the time there was no snow till now and today, just after i wrote that last entry, i went out, stretched, did a few hits, a few tricks, and then boom. poped again. i went inside and my knee cracked a few times. and since yesterday, my right hip joint is sore. FUCK!. why is footbag so fun but so hard on the bodY?!

edit: also, i'm not stopping on just mirages. like i do more moves but i dont know all the names. i think i can do the leg over. not sure if thats the one. but mirages are a bit tough because it forces my stalls to be perfect. and i get a much better dex so that when i try other dex mmoves, they should come faster.

i can almost get mirages. they are weird because it's so low to the ground but i almost have em.

i did some leg overs today.
i can do Butterfly Kick. once i get my clipper stall, i'll be able to do the Butterfly.

if i can get 1 mirage, i can get them all.

and osis will come later this summer. i think i'll make a new list of moves i can get because i just scrolled in the footbag.org list and i think i can do most of the 2add moves. still not too impressive but i'm getting there.

hey hey heyyy!, master Pete! whadup broda'?!
Pete wrote: thought the in and out thing was:

out is toward the outside of the body.
example: around the world from my left toe out dex would be counterclockwise.

same around the world but from my right toe. out dex would be clockwise.

can someone tell me if i'm right? Question
I thought it was in reference to the body as well, but it's not. The in-out , out-in's are referred from the "mirage- [dex] in-out" and the "butterfly [dex] out-in". They base themselves on those moves to define a [dex] leg's rotation. Beginners have no idea what a mirage or a butterfly kick is, so referring to them is silliness.

I personally defined the out-in, in-out while comparing some move notation and their videos.

E.g.: The blur wouldn't work with what you're thinking since the [op] leg goes into a [dex] outwards from the body, but is still indicated as an "OP IN".

it also wouldn't work for several other moves; such as the ripwalk, bubba, pixie, and others

My guesses,
keep on shreddin'!

i'll do more research once i finish school. it doesnt really matter though. :)

****

now can someone tell me how to get away from ppl when you shred? like fuck! leave me alone dammit!

i go outside to be alone and then boom, neighbours on all the houses are outside. like eVERYONE. then my dad comes outside, some random lady just stands in her driveway. not doing anything and just watching me. then some random truck drive around the block, slows down to watch me and then drives on. (i live in a dead end. you either drive to see one of my neighbour or you're lost. fucking hell.
even bugs started to come out. looks like i'll have to go in town to play. fucking small town has to come with a bug infested sewer just behind my house!!!!

****

now if it wasnt for all that shit, i woulda got my ATW pro. i started at lunch time and now, they're starting to improve. my leg actualy gets around now! haha. :)
