kelloggs web commercial
My Kelloggs web commercial is up. It's nothing too spectacular; 30 seconds long and lots of 3 adds, but check it out anyway.

Sweetest commercial I've seen to date. Much props to the Executioner!

SICK!!!
That was a good run, everthing was really visable, including the bag. It didn't look like those shitty buddies... I mean *footy* buddies... yes, ummm... thats what I meant. But over all that was some good freestyle. My favorite part was the repeated ducking clippers. I've noticed that a lot of the time, multiple tricks of the same type impress people, becuase it not only shows great control, but allows them to understand the trick a little better.
I'm glad it said "moves from the master" so kids don't think "oh hey, that looks easy, I'll go out and do that!" Then they spend $32 on a bag and $60 for lavers, and go outside to shred. Then .02 seconds later they come limping back in with a broken ankle, a fractured nose, a bloody pair of lavers, and a bag with 20 holes in it.

With posts like this, there's not many people that could challenge you for being 'the man'.Tsiangkun wrote: The director forgot a few details that would have given it a bit more street cred though. Where is the dice game ? How come nobody is sleeping next to the building ?
EDIT: Wicked run. Seeing that on like, a really mainstream website is really really neat. Props on basically everything to do with that.
EDIT EDIT: There's one thing I feel like I should comment on, though. After watching the shred video, I went to check out the TV spot to see if it had any other sort of shred. No dice there. But I did notice one thing... it seems that they're using this footbag promotion to encourage kids to improve at soccer. So like, instead of saying, "Learn footbag so you can do these insane tricks and be wicked and healthy and awesome" they're saying "If you learn to play footbag, you'll for sure get better at soccer." I feel like that's giving the impressionable kids that are paying attention to these ads the idea that footbag isn't a sport on it's own, but more just a compliment to soccer. Maybe I'm just being a pessimist, and I'm not in any way trying to downplay the awesomeness of there being a shred video on the frosted flakes site. But it just feels like footbag is getting the backseat to soccer, simply because they can fit a footbag into a cereal box better than they can a soccer ball.

To jump on the bandwagon, great vid, great shred, very spectator-centric, excellent job. I hope you were compensated well.
Yep. Dollar signs folks. We'd be very naive to think that some company that sells cereal with 15g of sugar per serving really gives a crap about kid's health. They are just going for the "mommy I want that" effect. Will it get some kids into footbag? Sure, or else I don't think Peter would have done it. It's a vehicle for footbaggers to promote their sport with the youth and it's a vehicle for the cereal company to market their product to kids. No one's really using one another, but obviously Peter probably doesn't care too much about cereal and the kellog's really doesn't care too much about footbag. Still everyone benefits from it, except arguably the kids who are coaxed into eating food that isn't very good for them.Skippy! wrote:So like, instead of saying, "Learn footbag so you can do these insane tricks and be wicked and healthy and awesome" they're saying "If you learn to play footbag, you'll for sure get better at soccer." I guess you're right, but I think what I'm trying to say is that the frosted flakes people are being a little bit misleading maybe? I mean, if nobody sees this, then I'll just climb back into my hermit cabin and leave it alone. I guess it just seems a bit fishy to me is all.

Go back to your hermit cabin!!
Of course only trying to make money and they're doing it by using the connection between soccer and footbag. However if kids see the commercial and do go out and buy lavers and a footbag and then practice all the tricks Peter does so that they get good at soccer - that's a good thing. I can't believe anybody could get to a solid guiltless level of footbag and not become converted - rather than just doing it to get good at soccer.
