it kicked some serious ass. it had a great vibe to it, very real. dave chappelle is hilarious (obviously), and he picked the best artists to perform. mos def suprised me, i wasnt expecting much, but he was actually really good. the roots where good, and kanye owned the stage

anyone heard of headturners? they are from boston. and there is another local guy who's cd i bought named black swan. its so funny to hear him rapping about beantown style and 'roxbury district court' (a famous courthouse in the middle of a notorious neighborhood). i havent heard a whole lot of headturners, but the little i have heard is phat. they started by selling their cds on the streets and in subways for 50 cents, now they are fairly well known. black swan is still doing street sales...bought the cd for 5 bucks.

Ok, so I checked out the new Coup and Gnarls Barkley, and they both blow chunks.
BUT,
I also peeped the new Soul Position, "Things Go Better with RJ and Al" and it is freakin' hot!! I highly recommend everyone check it. In case you don't know, Soul Position consists of RJD2, who like, if you don't know him you just, Iunno, suck. But anyway, yeah, and the MC Blueprint. Who, honestly, I'd never heard of him before this, but he definitely holds up well.
Reading some reviews, the song topics seemed pretty cheesy and I didn't think I was going to like it, but Blueprint even makes lame stuff, like teenage abstinence, sound like some sweet new ish.
Anyway, that's my update. Peep that shit! And check their MySpace profile and see if they're coming to your town!

Sadly, no CO dates.

GUESS WHAT STEVE
I'M SEEING THEM WEDNESDAY NIGHT
This is where you finally eat your words concerning RJD2.
Haven't you heard their album 8 Million Stories or the Unlimited LP? Blueprint was also on a lot of tracks on Deadringer.
Soul Position is the shiiit.

Tonight I went to a PUTS show and had to leave 15 minutes after they started!!
Thankfully the opening acts were all passable, with the last being DOPE AS SHIT. TIME MACHINE. CHECK THEM OUT!
The other two opening acts were Gym Class Heroes and some other people who may have been off Rhymesayers (or was that the aforementioned? can't remember).
Fuck having to leave early! They were tearing it UP, too. I will be waiting expectently for them to return.
