1. So what do think about all these rallys, and school walkouts, to try to influence Congress?

2. Did organized work stoppages around the country, affect your life, or did you not even notice?

The only way I noticied anything was on the bus trying to get home. Everyone that was against the bill was out waving a mexican flag, and had "vive mexico" written all over there vehicles or holding a sign.

Really, I think it's a bunch of bullshit!!!!!!!! If they want to work here they need to pay taxes. If they don't want to pay taxes go back to mexico, it's as simple as that.

Coming Next: "El Gran Boicot"

Pro-immigrant coalition to paralyze US economy
by
Ernesto Cienfuegos
La Voz de Aztlan

Los Angeles, Alta California - March 31, 2006 - (ACN) The coalition that brought over 700,000 pro-immigrant rights marchers to Los Angeles announced yesterday that the next mass action will be "an economic and labor boycott that will paralyze the US economy". The planned boycott, which now has international support, is to protest the racist HR4437 legislation being debated in the US Senate.

Dr. Armando Navarro, coordinator of the National Alliance for Human Rights (NAHR), said "We are living through very dangerous times and we must take advantage of the moment. If we just sit and wait to see what happens, everything we have accomplished so far may go to waste. That is why we must continue the struggle to once and for all defeat that racist proposal (HR4437)".

Coalition member Roberto Reveles of "Unidos en Arizona" said that they will help host a "Summit Meeting" in Phoenix, Arizona to work out the details of the "international economic and labor boycott". The summit will take place on April 8th and 9th. The boycott will take place on May 1 (Day of the International Solidarity of Workers) or May 5 (Cinco de Mayo). To be debated is whether a boycott beginning on May 1 and ending with a huge "fiesta" on May 5 can be sustained.

Phoenix, Arizona saw a huge march and rally on March 24 in which over 15,000 participated. Roberto Reveles said, "What occurred on March 24 is a consequence of the people being tired of the treatment we are receiving. The first step has already been taken, we organized ourselves and have completed the first phase, now we have to prepare for the second. We will not rest until we see HR4437 defeated". Reveles added, "We are sure that the preparations we make at the summit will lead us to victory. We are united and only united will we be victorious".

The two day summit will be attended by Mexican-American and other Latino groups from Nevada, Texas, Wisconsin, Washington, New York, Chicago, California and other states. Representatives from Mexico, Central and South America will also be present. A major focus of the meeting will be to finalize the details of the boycott.

Dr. Armando Navarro of the NAHR said that the "international boycott" counts on the support of the consulates of Bolivia, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba and Mexico, as well as that of Mexican labor organizations. The coalition welcomes the support of other countries abroad.

"We have to demonstrate to the nation, one more time, that its economic stability depends on us. I am sure that our sister nations of Latin America, who are also tired of the situation, will unite with us", Professor Navarro said. "That is why we will celebrate May 1, 'Day of the Worker', with labor strikes, no purchases and go out and march. Soon they will see the impact we will have!", he concluded.

here's the thing about about illegal immigration - it only makes sense for them to come to america because they can get jobs.

why can they get jobs? because WHITE people in America are willing to employ mexicans as CHEAP, ILLEGAL LABOUR. so what is the actual problem here? exploitative AMERICAN CITIZENS?

What is the solution? It's easy - LET ANYBODY WHO IS IN AMERICA, WORK LEGALLY.

How does this work you ask? Say somebody needs a janitor. Who are they going to hire? A unionized white man who wants $16 an hour? Or an illegal who will work for $16 dollars a day? And why can he get away with hiring the illegal? because if that man complains, he gets deported.

So you institute a law that NOBODY IS ILLEGAL. That way if you want to hire somebody you HAVE TO PAY THE MINIMUM WAGE. Then what incentive is there to hire illegals? None! Problem sovled.

If you can find any holes in this argument, I'd like to hear them. People just don't want to own up to the fact that it is corrupt, exploitative americans that thrive off of illegal immigration, and actively encourage it.

such regularisations of illegal immigrants have been used a lot in the states of southern europe, italy and spain to be exact.
I agree with everything you wrote, junkyyardjew. Illegals are attractive to employers because they've got no rights and are cheap workforces.
But there are two sides of the coin: On the one hand regularisations of illegals will lead to a reduction of illegal labour and exploitation of immigrants.
On the other hand there is the discussion that regularisation of illegals
might lead to increasing numbers of illegal immigrants. Again Spain for example, there were regularisations every two years since 1998. Regularisations of illegal immigrants somehow are discussed as a pull-factor: when there is a good chance for an illegal immigrant to be legalized after they came to (enter country here), he will more likely come.
That doesn't say I'm against giving the same rights to illegal immigrants, but it would be more efficient and substainable (spelling?) to help the poor countrys they come from, to reduce the number of potential migrants.
I hope this made some sense.

Sounds like an amnesty law, for millions ,to make up for employment laws that were never enforced to begin with.

Illegals also work at jobs that pay more than the minimum wage.

They depress wages for all the citizen whites, blacks, and hispanics that used to do those jobs.

You do seem to imply that the lazy, welfare-bum class of Americans is to blame. We would have to cut some benefits from able-bodied American bums, in order to lessen the need for foreign slaves.

The more illegal aliens you allow in, the more you screw the illegal aliens who are already here.

You favor paying everyone the minimum wage at least. I agree with that.

But, sticking Americans with a new, giant , permanent lower class, is not a solution.

The WORST illegals aliens, the most violent, are the ones least affected by a "worker program".

It is the leftist elites, the media, and republican business leaders who want this slave class to continue growing, at an unsustainable rate.

Only big business gains from this invasion.

The common man gets screwed.
The poor whites get screwed.
The poor blacks get screwed.
The poor hispanics get screwed.
The people living on the border get screwed.
The hospitals get screwed.
The public school students get screwed.
The taxpayer gets screwed.

Jobs is just part of it all.

Importing poverty at such an unprecedented, massive scale can not have positive effects for the country.

Half a million, foreign-flag waving, invaders who are marching in the streets, making demands is more worrysome.

Activists who advocate the ethnic cleansing of whites, and blacks from the SouthWest, is disturbing.

Zulu makes a good point about the efficiency and sustainability of not allowing so many people into the U.S.

I read somewhere that when someone sneaks into America, their level of consumption increases ,to become more like the consumption level of American citizens.

So every person who arrives here, begins polluting, and using fossil fuels at a rate that dwarves their previous rates of consumption.

Firstly, this not 'new' and it was already 'permanent'. Amnesty IS the answer. It worked for Reagan and it can work for Bush. There are 11 MILLION 'illegal' immigrants in america right now. If they are turned into felons by the bill tabled right now, it means that their employers have even more control over them - "work for less money or you'll be arrested and THEN deported". Not really a great solution, as it provides more incentive, not less to hire illegals.

Also:
The WORST illegals aliens, the most violent, are the ones least affected by a "worker program".
What kind of wierd, racist bullshit is that? What exactly are you implying?

You're saying that a larger labour pool in general depresses wages for all people? I don't think thats a very valid argument.

A bill to make them all felons is a bad idea, I agree.

Congress puts forth bills that will NEVER get passed by the house and senate.

Reagan admitted that his amnesty bill was a huge failure.

"It can work for Bush" does not translate into "It can work for the people."

You are absolutely right about it giving more power to the employers.

J.J. quoted me:

Whoa, pretty fast on the trigger with the R-word, aren't you?

Would it be more understandable if it was phrased:

The most violent illegals aliens, the WORST criminals (i.e. sexual predators, murderers, slave runners, are the ones least affected by a "worker program".

We can argue over jobs and whatnot, but aliens who come and commit heinous crimes, (great societal cost), and then go to prison for long periods, (great monetary cost), are not affected by employment laws.

Perhaps being "documented" would make it harder for known criminals to hide amongst the rest, if they register with their real name.

The end of that sentence you refer to, included this at the end: "who used to do those jobs."

Flooding an industry with people who will work for way less, and with less or no benefits, certainly would depress the wages for THAT industry.

Our great new global ecomomy shows us this is true, even with a labor pool outside the country.

Why does the manufacturing that used to be in the U.S., get moved to Mexico....... and then get moved to Southeast Asia?

There is still an incentive to hire immigrant workers, even though their rights might be the same, an employer will know that the immigrants standards will be lower. So an american worker will want to get paid for every minute of overtime whereas an immigrant worker who could only get paid half as much back home will be more than willing to do a couple of hours overtime and not complain about it.

Wages work on a supply and demand principle just like any other commodity. If there are higher wages on offer accross a border in America then people are going to come and that's going to put pressure on the minimum wage.
So the goverment might reduce the minimum wage for certain industries which will be dominated by immigrant workers.

America could stop screwing over Mexico with NAFTA and work to create a higher standard of living there - resulting in more people wanting to stay there.

NAFTA screwed the U.S. people also.

It may have meant increased revenues to the Fed, but I dont count that as benefiting America as a whole.

Maybe if you get enough tax revenue from corporations, you can tell the American worker(and the middle class), "Fuck you, we don't need you."

Here's another interesting(on topic) prison planet story:

http://www.infowars.com/articles/ps/cam ... legals.htm

Race Riots Could Lead to Camps For Americans and Illegals
Mexican extremists led like lambs to the slaughter will be the first victims

Paul Joseph Watson & Alex Jones/Prison Planet.com | March 30 2006

The catalyst for the agenda to intern millions of Americans deemed subversive in a time of manufactured chaos could be race riots kick-started by radicalized Mexican Klan groups and their establishment controllers.

Yesterday we reported on the immigration protests that are a front for the violent separatist Atzlan movement. After watching Spanish TV news stations we were able to ascertain that the marches were not wholly an organic response to the introduction of the immigration bill but were being artificially promoted and organized by the Spanish-language media.

The Associated Press reported today that, "Many of the 500,000 people who crammed downtown Los Angeles on Saturday to protest legislation that would make criminals out of illegal immigrants learned where, when and even how to demonstrate from the Spanish-language media.

"For English-speaking America, the mass protests in Los Angeles and other U.S. cities over the past few days have been surprising for their size and seeming spontaneity."

"But they were organized, promoted or publicized for weeks by Spanish-language radio hosts and TV anchors as a demonstration of Hispanic pride and power."

In reality the foundation of the protests is not the Sensenbrenner bill but part of an orchestrated advance on the part of a race hate movement that seeks to enact a brutal program of ethnic cleansing that will wipe uncooperative whites and blacks from the south and western states off the map, as detailed in our previous article.

The Atzlan movement openly states its goal is to create a separatist state that encompasses the entire southern and western states. Their version of Hitler's Mein Kampf is the Plan of San Diego, which outlines the plan to ethnically cleanse the entire region of whites and blacks by mass genocide. Mecha's own slogan reads, "For the race everything. For those outside the race, nothing." Photographs and statements purposefully ignored by the mainstream media characterize this week's protests as part of this agenda, with Mexican flags outnumbering US flags a hundred to one and groups carrying signs that read, "This is our continent, not yours!" and, "We are indigenous! The only owners of this continent!"

Extremist Mexican websites admit that US flags were only handed out to make it appear as if the protesters were looked on as if 'part of America' and not a violent rabble of rampaging invaders.

What the La Reconquista movement remains blissfully unaware of is that it is being used as sacrificial bait by its elitist puppet-masters to engender a race war that will eventually ensnare both radical Hispanics and white and black Americans in a carefully laid trap.

During the Iran Contra hearings in the 80's, previously classified information came to light about Continuity of Government (CoG) procedures in times of national crisis. The masterminds behind these programs were Oliver North, Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney and the Rex-84 'readiness exercise' discussed the plan to round up immigrants and detain them in internment camps in the context of uncontrolled population movements across the Mexican border.

The real agenda was to use the cover of rounding up immigrants and illegal aliens as a smokescreen for targeting political dissidents and American citizens . From 1967 to 1971 the FBI kept a list of persons to be rounded up as subversive, dubbed the "ADEX" list.

Since 9/11 shadow government and CoG programs that were outlined in Rex-84 have been activated, including mass warrantless wiretapping of American citizens. The internment camp program is being readied for execution following the announcement on January 24th that Halliburton subsidiary KBR (formerly Brown and Root) had been awarded a $385 million contingency contract by the Department of Homeland Security to build detention camps.

A much discussed and circulated report, the Pentagon's Civilian Inmate Labor Program, has recently been updated and the revision details a "template for developing agreements" between the Army and corrections facilities for the use of civilian inmate labor on Army installations."

The pretext given for which the camps would be used as reported by the New York Times was stated as, "an unexpected influx of immigrants, to house people in the event of a natural disaster or for new programs that require additional detention space."

Mexican racial superiority groups are being protected and funded by the elite in order to create a backlash from middle class white and black Americans that will lead to a fully fledged race war. This in turn will result in American citizens applauding the actions of law enforcement when they finally step in to restore order, rounding up the violent extremists Mexicans and taking them to the camps. Mixed in will be political subversives but the desire for calm will provide the necessary smokescreen for this to take place without sufficient resistance. To make absolutely sure, the Globalists could couple the race war with a suitcase nuke attack or a biological release blamed on the rioting foreign extremists or their terrorist sympathizers.

Sectarian and racial violence is a favored method of divide and conquer. We have seen it used in Northern Ireland, throughout Africa and the Balkans, and now in present day Iraq.

An invading army of radicalized foreigners with an agenda of racial purity is massing and yet the government of Virginia is releasing manuals to its law enforcement and state employees telling them that property rights activists are terrorists.

Whether they are accompanied by a terrorist attack or not, stage managed race riots and the government's carefully prepared response to them are likely to be America's next 9/11. Hispanic Klan groups need to switch off for a second their Ford Foundation propaganda spewing establishment brainwashing and realize that they are pawns for a wider malthusian master plan that threatens to turn America into a police state a hundred times more tyrannical than even their beloved Mexico, and that they will be its first victims.

Rally organizer tied to Marxist party

http://www.washtimes.com/national/20060 ... -4817r.htm

One of the key organizers of the immigration protests and rallies nationwide, including yesterday's in Washington, is a group whose leaders are tied to the Workers World Party, a Marxist organization that has expressed support for dictators Kim Jong-il of North Korea and Saddam Hussein of Iraq.
Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (ANSWER) Coalition, which also has proposed a nationwide boycott on May 1 to protest congressional efforts at immigration reform and border security, is an offshoot of the International Action Coalition, an anti-capitalism group founded by former Attorney General Ramsey Clark.
In a press release celebrating a March 25 rally in Los Angeles against immigration-law enforcement that drew an estimated 500,000 people, ANSWER said it helped organize "a major contingent in the march" and provided logistical support. The march was co-chaired by Juan Jose Gutierrez, director of Latino Movement USA, who also is a member of ANSWER's Los Angeles steering committee.
"We are people of dignity, and we demand respect," Mr. Gutierrez said at the rally. "This is the beginning of a movement that is going to call for a national work stoppage."
Another ANSWER member who spoke at the rally, Gloria La Riva said: "The racist politicians thought they could step on us with their racist legislation, but they have awakened the immigrant giant, and they will feel our strength when we stop work."
Founded three days after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States, the organization describes itself as a "coalition of hundreds of organizations and prominent individuals and scores of organizing centers in cities and towns across the country" that have campaigned against "U.S. intervention in Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East and Asia ... and for civil rights and for social and economic justice for working and poor people inside the United States."
ANSWER also organized the first national anti-war rally after the September 11 attacks, a demonstration that brought 25,000 people to Washington and 15,000 to San Francisco on Sept. 29, 2001.
The Workers World Party, a communist organization in the United States founded in 1959, describes itself as a party that has, since its founding, "supported the struggles of all oppressed peoples" and opposes "all forms of racism and religious bigotry." In addition to sponsoring or directing numerous popular-front groups, it was instrumental in founding ANSWER through the International Action Coalition.
Its March 25 rally in Los Angeles and its planned "Great American Boycott of 2006" on May 1 are part of a series of large-scale events that the coalition hopes will sway lawmakers to put millions of illegal aliens in the United States on track toward permanent residency and U.S. citizenship.
ANSWER has denounced attempts by Congress to secure the United States' borders and criminalize illegal aliens as "racist," saying all working people should back full amnesty for all of the estimated 10 million to 12 million illegal aliens now in the United States. It has accused the media, government and corporations of "erecting borders against humans and waging war on immigrant America."
Calling its proposed boycott a "day without an immigrant," the coalition has labeled members of Congress -- both Republicans and Democrats -- as "hatemongers," saying it will "settle for nothing less than full amnesty and dignity for the millions of undocumented workers presently in the United States."
The street rallies and the proposed boycott are seen as critical in keeping what ANSWER has described as "pressure" on Congress so it will not be allowed to "decide how much equality or how much inequality, or how much repression, should be meted out to the millions of hardworking immigrant families."
"Immigrant workers, including the undocumented workers, are the sisters and brothers and allies of all those struggling for justice," the organization said.
The boycott, according to the coalition, means no work, no school, no shopping, buying or business as usual

Hmm. This is really interesting IMO. I happen to know quite a few people who came here as illegals. They are all Russians but that's besides the point.

Interesting thing is that even with the nice amount of Russian illegals in the early 90's in NYC, you didn't see them go crazy and wave Russian or Soviet flags around. They were quiet. They worked in Borough Park or some seaport or some construction thing and either passed money to Russian to family or lived and waited patiently till they could get a greencard. I even knoe one guy whose family one greencards in a lottery.

Of course, scales are the issue. As opposed to maybe 10-20K Russian illegals in NYC and probably as many in other cities with a Russian population (San Francisco too, I guess), you have a few million of these people who definitely don't have a chance to get a greencard. Plus, the border is easier to cross. You don't have to fly to 5 different countries only to end up in Canada and then get to the US. It's all very close. And businesses want to take advantage of them with the prisoner's dillemma type idea: You don't like the wages, you get deported, or you take shit wages and pray you don't get found.

Anyway, as to personal opinion...I think they should be deported to hell. This week's issue of Time Magazine reports on ~30%ish of Americans not graduating high school and there being a large deficit in blue collar jobs. If you deport them all, and the American poor gets those jobs, that's a nice win for the domestic economy.

Other than that, I'm just wondering. Are these illegals retarded? The point is that their presence in the US is against the law. They want rights? I don't get it. It's the law. You break it, you get punished. That's the way it should work. As opposed to: you break the law, you get to protest the law with impunity, you fuck over the vast majority of Americans. Next thing we should see is all the rapists and murderers all get together and protest the law.

i was coincidentally at a huge rally for this downtown boston. boston is a very diverse city (moreso recently than ever), but i was still suprised at the sheer number of people there. MA republican governor Mitt Romney (likely presidential hopeful in '08 as well) says: if i was president i wouldnt support removal of illegals currently living here...they arent the problem, as long as they are working, etc" of course everything he says is becoming more and more moderate as '08 approaches, but i agree with the sentiment

You know what they should do is take the taxes out of Illegals wages before they get paid(they arent paying it otherwise) and make it a 2.00 an hour minimum wage for them.

Incentive for coming to the US illegally goes beyond just work.

For instance free health care and other social services that states are required to pay for. County hospitals are supposed to take in patients regardless of whether they have healthcare or not. Public schools are required to take in undocumented students. The public services that states are being required to provide takes out of their own state treasuries, which are paid for by income taxes. The problem is that undocumented aliens don't pay into the system for these services so basically we're throwing money at them.

That's mostly right. Federal law says hospitals must provide emergency medical care to everyone. State law might vary, on the amount of care.
