Prom?
Prom?
So I'm going to my first prom on May 6th, and I knew it was going to be expensive, but it's still suprising how much I'm going to pay for one night.
Anyways, anyone going to prom this year?
Andd if you're an old timer, tell us of your fond memories from your old highschool proms.

I hated formal/prom. The meal sucked, and after eating they played really shitty mainstream rap really loud, so that you couldn't talk without going outside in the rain. I basically paid 75 dollars to go to prom (alone) and have the worst time ever.

I went to a prom last year with some girl I barely knew that couldn't find a date. Waste of money. Thought it was going to be a good experience, err, guess not. I don't even know why she went.
This year I decided to screw prom (because I'm a "rebel", lol jk). Prom is overrated in my opinion and a waste of money. I could plan a much funner night for less money.
But hey, proms can be a really fun time if you are that type of person who likes that kind of thing.

I hated my highschool grad.
I had a lot of fun at my girlfriend's highschool grad, though (she's a few years younger). I have convocation for my B.F.A. in about a month and a half. I'm not really keen on it, but again my girlfriend is excited for me, so that will make it more fun (I really don't see the point of putting on a silly gown and standing up in front of tons of people I don't know...). I'm not even sure how university grad works...
In conclusion, I guess it makes a big difference who you're going with and who will be there and stuff. I hate social situations and talking to people, so that's a big reason that I hated my first one
Well, I feel like someone should stick up for prom and since I've been told that I had the all-american, movie highlight, high school career I'm not afraid to be the first to do it.
Prom was sweet. You clean up so all the young lovelies are looking better than you ever though they could and then you dance the night away and just act ridiculous with your friends. I still have a picture this girl took and antiqued of me and my 3 very close friends doing karaoke to "Come on Eileen" by Dexy's Midnight Runners. Haha. We look classy. Anyway, go there having the attitude that you'll have fun. Because 90% of people go there saying "Prom is gay. I don't know why I payed so much money for this." And then you'll have a great time.
It's totally my goal in life to be that douche that is like WAY too old to be at a high school prom and having the time of his life. Haha. My friends and I used to make fun of that kid at every social event. We called it "Alumni Day." (By the way, that was a joke. I don't want to be that guy at all.)

Prom rocked.
Snuck sooooo much Johnnie Walker in, had a date that I was actually dating at the time (who's rich father footed the bill), got all crunked up and danced like a maniac, won a door prize (10 movie tickets) and I won't even tell you about the best part!
Oh....and hit a DATW in dress pants and dress shoes...
Edit:This was my grad

I think your experience of prom totally depends on who you are as a person at the time of the event.
I think that I could go to an event like that and possibly like it at this stage in life where I am more confident and happy than I was in highschool (by far) and I had next to zero friends in my year at school so the event wasn't so fun for me.
But I can totally see how for someone like Caleb who is cool and happy and confident and has a ton of friends and cool people he liked that would be there with him celebrating a milestone it would/could be quite fun.
I guess, like many other things, it depends on the 'ingredients' of the situation that determine if prom will suck or not for you.
PS mine sucked because my GF at the time was totally mental and she ruined every event ever.
