Well put, Nic.

My only comments:

Josh Gayhart in the fucking house!!! Nice entries!!!

And props to Fletcher Funk for keeping it real with the two add seal! As soon as I have access to a camera and submit an entry I'll make sure and hold down the tiltless seal fort with you.

ur a gaylord.

Hmm... pretty clean? I would accept thin moves (and of course they would be ranked lower then), but the organizor should leave completely unclean entrys out of the released competitions.

Cleanliness and a good seal are the most important things in competition. Like Josh Gayhart had a seal in his sick1 that should imo lower his over all performance. Also Derrick Ogdens sick3 clip was cut before he sealed the combo, so that leaves a question mark if he did seal it?

All this should affect the rankings. While you players are infront of the camera, you can try as long as you get it perfect - if it feels impossible, then lower the level.

my two thousand cents, lol.

even though I'm not a judge, I'll give some feedback what I think the rankings should be in novice sick 3-

2- Ben Roscoe, I like it, good control

7- Benjamin Benulis, much better than in the January comps, I think it would have helped to duck your head a bit more

6- Danny Petrick, kinda lacking variety but still cool

10- Kyle Hewitt, the clipper really engenders (big word) the combo lose momentum

4- Julien Romiti, the pixie seemed to be a cross between "the" and very thin, and I think you did a far osis, not osis

3- Logan Rudemiller, I really liked this one for some reason I can't put my finger on :?

9- Zeb Jackson, once again the clipper weakens the combo

8- Zac Jackosn, nice control, nice illusion

5- Jesse Lindey, I think you should try to not plant on pdx mirage and turn into your osis intead of pull it

1- Matt Coffman, I almost feel like I know this guy, the set could have been higher and whats up with that gay finger point?

Fletcher, you have improved SO much since january!!! omg... mad props

Mr. Adler, the exicution was definately not what we normally call clean, but I found it very styley. Looks super cool, man

@the editing
the editing for both Open competitions was great, IMO. There were some things done in both Novice competitions that I didn't like though... I found, in the Sick 1, having the components for each trick come out sperately was distracting... All the editing was still pretty sweet though.

props everyone!!

keep it real

Iron Clad Ben's March 2006 Shreddie awards:

:!: Blurriest award: Derrick Odgen (OS1). Time for a new camera bro. I could barely follow that combo.
:!: Go-Go-Gadget Leg! Thinnest seal award: Josh Gayhart (OS1). Barely hung on to that one dude, hell of a move though.
:!: Go-Go-Gadget Arm! Best hand catch award: Nic Bathgate (OS3). Crazy snag there, almost fell over grabbing that one. Nice :)
:!: Best Celebration move award: Logan Rudemiller(NS3). Did he slay the evil ice dragon or something? VICTORY! :D
:!: Van Damme Dex award: Ben Adler (NS1). Roundhouse kicks like that, Chuck Norris better watch out.

That was all I could think of for now

hahaha nice awards :D i would have to argue though that jason crooks victory dance in the sick three is far superior to logans celebration and deserves the best celebration :)

Is there any consideration for how long the player has been playing for. For example, if Tom hits Montage, and then lets say Honza hits the same. Wouldnt Tom win for not having as much experience???

Or is it just judged by technique and execution?

I think it would be entirely inappropriate to base judging on anything other than what is specificially hit.

It's judged entirely on what was hit and how it was executed, the players previous experiance does not come into the judges decisions what so ever.
