So, I told my mom about the three new moves I hit. . . Her responce:

"Wow... that's nice..." And she said that in a rather unenuthused way.

She doesn't support my playing at all. It's kinda annoying. There was an empty room in our house for a while,so I used it for footbag, and then she made it into a library... that she NEVER went into...

I've been playing in the kitchen, but now she's added cupboards and more counters and there is hardly ANY room to play. Ok, that's my vent of the night.

On the plus side I have a few friends who are super supportive. While I was playing today I was texting a friend and when I hit PS Whirl I told her I hit a new trick and she was very happy for me. That made me feel good, and she was just as supportive with the next trick too. :)

Had a session tonight.

Spent most of my time working on flip whirls. I've decided that I really need to drill that before I do ANYTHING else with my game. After hitting 3 tough whirl variations on my strongside I know that I need to be able to at LEAST hit flip whirl consistently.

 whirl (flip) > paradox whirl I think I'm gonna RPT as a goal.

I want to hit whirl > paradox whirl > rpt by Apr. 15, 2006.

Let's see how that works. :?

I tried PS Whirl a few times and footed it each time, but the muscle just below my butt on my landing (and dexing) leg hurt as a landed each time. It was actually more as I bent the leg to cusion the landing. I think it's just from repeating the motion OVER AND OVER again and again on monday while trying PS Whirl and Ducking PS whirl. Hopefully it'll feel good soon.

I guess I'll talk about footbag in my life. Right now playing really feels right. I've gone through periods where I didn't play, and I've gone through periods where I forced myself to play because I figured I NEEDED to. Like I had some sort of obligation to fulfill. The past week or so is the first time in a while that I'm playing because I love the feeling it gives me.

I <3 Footbag.

So, it's been a while, but I played tonight.

Worked my flip whirl to death and it still sucks quite a bit. Tryed for along time to hit two consec flip whirls and failed. I hit a few new spinning things though...

 spinning mirage
 spinning pick-up

That's it for highlights. Although my flip whirl is feeling a bit stronger. Doing so many hurt my leg.

In other news... I started my new job today. It went well. I'm working for an oilfeild company just doing random stuff around the shop and office's. It's ok. Pay isn't gonna be great, but mom is paying for the rest of my trip.

I thought I had other stuff I was gonna blog about, but I guess not. *shrugs*

G'night all.

I just a had a pretty good session. I remember why footbag is fun :D

highlights:
 Pick up > dimwalk > pardox mirage > fairy (starting on BOTH sides)
 Whirl > Whirl (flipside) Been trying that for awhile!!
 parodox Whirl > parodox Whirl
 ducking clipper x 5 (old record was 3)
 butterfly > whirl rpt (challenge)

I also hit a new trick, but I'm not sure what it is yet. I think it might be stepping legover, but it wasn't really a stepping set. It was more of a high clip set mirage where I jumped into a legover at the same time. I dunno. I gotta look around to see if I can find it.

Edit: I guess it is double legover. I hit Double Legover. 8) That's what I thought it was. really...

Gah, I hate shin splints. My shins hurt. Stupidness. I really don't know what to do about this.

Had a session tonight, but I don't wanna talk about that.

I think I need to take some time off, but i just don't want to. I wanna get some G6's, I hear they have better support, but I am broke, so my lavers will have to do.

Blah, I'm gonna take the next two days off and see what happens.

So I crashed my car today...

I was going for a bit of a drive to warm up my car before I changed the oil. I drove over to a local park and driving down the entrance road, when I saw a big puddle. I like driving through puddles so I sped up a bit and hit the puddle. I started to hydroplain and then I totally lost control. When I came out of the puddle I was heading straight at a cement/stone pillar and CRASH. I hit it hard. I was hurt much, I immediatley put it into reverse, but no dice. I started walking home and a friend came walking into the park so we got my car unstuck. The motor is fine, but the bumber was pushed back and rubbing on my drivers side tire. I walked home and came back over with my step dad. Eventually I just drove it home. It's gonna be outta commission for quite some time.

So, since my car is in "the shop" (aka My Garage), I've been biking all over the place the past few days. I think this will only be a good thing on both my in shapeness and my wallet. Although it makes leaving town really really hard. All my friends live out of town...

Anyways, I had a two hour session tonight! That's right, TWO HOURS. Ussually I only play for an hour and am in too much pain to go on, but tonight the legs were feeling great. They didn't hit too much, but they didn't hurt...

Highlights:

 pickup>dimwalk>pdx mirage>fairy>pickup>dimwalk>pdx mirage>FOOTED fairy a whole bunch of times. That's one of the first challenges from my challenge thread and I've been trying REALLY hard to get it.
 whirl > Parodox Whirl rpt. Also footed a few times, but never sealed. This is a personal challenge to work my flip whirl.

It seems to be feeling a bit better but I need to drill paradox Whirl on the flip now. That caused problems. I also have to tweak the flip whirl quite a bit.

That's really all I worked on in this session. Along with some laid back spinning osis and a bit of consecutive osii. Nothing noteworthy.

Session note: I used a Mr. Sandman for this entire session. It felt nice to have that stick but I do feel it hurt my sets quite a bit. I'd like to keep it in the rotation so I don't forget haw to use it.

OUTSIDE!!

Post by sen »

I got to play outside today for the first time this year. I have mixed feelings about...

It was nice to have the extra room from playing in my kitchen all winter. Other then that, it was fun having some people see what I do. A few kidsstopped and watched for awhile.

It seemed REALLY REALLY hot today. It couldn't have been too hot, but the sun was really warm. It felt like I was boiling. I think that would have affected my play. Also, with the sun, spotting after a spin was difficult if it happened to be facing the sun.

As far as highlights go...

 pickup>dimwalk>paradox Mirage>fairy>REPEAT!!!! (challenge)
 whirl>Paradox whirl>rpt (Personal challenge/goal)

The challenge was the second one I got in my thread and I am so happy to have finally hit it. Felt good.

I played with my Mr again. Didn't want to get a thirty two filthy from the dirty cement downtown.

I think I might take some time off from modified. I've been wasting way too much time on it lately and I need to work some stuff out in my life. I'll continue to update my blog and challenges. So, post in here and challenge me!!

 dimwalk and pixie ss clipper both bsos in one string

:!: Consecutive Records:
 ducking clipper - 9 (old - 5)

 longer runs than I'm used to and more bothsidedness

Another outdoor sesh today. Still useing the "mini" Mosh.

It was windy and a bit chilly today. I didn't have any gatorade. I'm just making excuses.

I had some longish runs, but nothing too special. I footed phoenix a few times, but only my strong side, and by strong side, I mean my strong pixie. That leaves my weak ducking butterfly. I'm not sure I've ever really spent time on ducking butterfly on my flip. I haven't really spent time it much at all... Next session (hopefully tomorrow) I'm gonna drill that. My flip phoenix attempts were pretty lame with the pixie never coming up high enough to duck. I think I'm gonna work on getting them higher on both sides too. Time to step back and analyze this move. It's not time to hit it quite yet.

Upcoming Goals:
 ducking butterfly>ducking butterfly
 high dimwalks

Real short session. Took some time warming up slow, because the kitchen was busy.

I worked on ducking butterfly and got them back to back a few times. I started on both sides so it felt nice.

I also worked on Dimwalks a little bit focusing on the high pixie set. They felt pretty nice. I threw a few Pheonix attempts in just for fun and footed 'em . . .

I spent a little bit of time taking at look at stepping. It seems like my flipside will be strong stepping. That seems strange. I didn't really get a good look at the set yet . . . It's something I wanna have by the end of summer for sure. It'd be nice to be able to through it into runs all summer long though . . .

I guess that's it. It was a short session and really just wanted to get a shesh in to make sure my legs didn't forget that they love this sport. It was a late start bacause I had to watch the OIler's last Regular season game of the year. Can't wait for play offs!!!!

Played for an hour this afternoon.

Felt pretty good. Some good stuff happened:

 osis>whirl rpt

I did that fairly early on, then worked on some other stuff . . .

 16 consecutive butterflies (op side)

That's three off my record. I'm working my way toward 30, a challenge from Tom.

And the biggest news from my session:

 PHEONIX :!:

I only hit it strong side, but really close on flip. Should hit it within the next week. I don't know how much I'll get to play this week, it's gonne be busy. Heading to Saskatoon on Friday. Might play tomorrow.

Whoo! Someone read my blog! The bags are coming along beautifully. I play almost exclusively with the three bags I recently got from Kingston.

They are beautiful. Hit Pheonix with a Mosher.

Ok, it's been a long TIME since I played... Work has been keeping me pretty busy, but mostly I've been spending my time working on a 45 minute long speech I had to give yesterday. It was awesome... so fun to do. I'm slightly sad that it dominated my life for so long, but in the end it was worth it.

Anyways, I started to really miss footbag last week. But I didn't have the time to play, so I just watched a few videos and kept working. Yesterday afternoon, however, after my talk was done I was walking around a park in Lloyd with my girl and a friend when I seen some hakkers. I went up and asked if I could play and they said sure. It was fun. They didn't know about freestyle, but they could do some sick circle tricks. They flipped over double atw and ducking clipper. It was fun. I was wearing skate shoes and they had an almost empty crocheted bag. Good times. Today I laced up the lavers and messed around for a little bit. Nothing serious, but I don't think I lost my legs too badly this time. :)

You should notice me around the forum alot more in the coming days.
