Understanding Lavers Directions

Post by Vpicone »

ok guys, Im 14 and im having trouble understanding the modification directions for the rod laver shoes. It would help tons if someone could post pictures of how they did theirs or if there is a collection of step by step pictures that would help out tons. Or, is their a place w/ really simple instructions. Ive allready laced them properly but have done nothing to the inside. Also, how neccasary is it to cut up the insides? Will it really make a large differance? Im starting out, really, and i can do almost all the 1 add moves.

Thanks,
Vince

It'll make a big difference if you do, all the mods here are done because they're beneficial.

Either way, welcome to the forums, Vince!

It depends, what kind of laver's do you have? Leather or mesh? If you have the leather laver's you can do the same mods for the goonit's. The mesh laver's have their own way of modding. I've only had the leather ones and when I did the mods to them, I was like this is so much better that with the leather on it.

If I were you, I would open the toe box and take out the inner canvas of the inside [where your clipper delays go]. Leave the canvas under the toe for the time being

Get a brand new blade for cutting the canvas

good luck

aha. mesh it is.

great shoes, with lots of potential.

now to make it come out!

i cant give a pic by pic story, but the easiest thing to do is, cut a small incision in the inner canvas on the laver, closest to the inside of your foot. pull at the canvas, to make it separate from the mesh, and pull it till you can fit your finger in, after you lengthen your cut. separate it all the way on the inside of the laver, and then your almost done

after that, trim the canvas outneatly , and you have an inside modded laver.

the toe mod for inner canvas is harder, cause you cant really see well. that can be saved for later, as it isnt super important at first. insides matter more....

but if your only on 1adds and 2 adds, no mods wont kill you. just set you back. where do you live? could there be a shredder near you, who might have already done such mods, and could help you?

the biggest mod you could do is your lacing. that will open the toebox, and give you a huge landing deck for your bag. check around modified, flipsider, and hoodshouse for some lacing stuff. or make your own!

hope this helps, even if its just a little.

haha, i dont really know them i just kinda watch from afar....where its safe.lol

So if im understading correctly then i should make the incision here?

I havent really done it yet. But I should make the incision the size of my pinky then seperate the iner material from the outer and then cut out the inner material.

stop there. if you can see stitches on the outside, dont cut past them. leave em there. just do the inside mod and maybe the toe. no crazy heel area mods yet, except heel box stuff. and thats dumb.

I dont think i explained that right, Half way up the insole on the left side of the right shoe there is a seam that splits the insole in half starting at the bottome it goes up the cuts right towards the toe of the shoe.
What should i do (since i am cutting from the buttom) when i reach this seam?
