Holes in bag!

There are some tiny holes in my new bag that I just noticed today. Is this normal? It's only about a week and a half to two weeks old. I have a used bag that I bought and it doesn't have any.

there are alot of factors why a bag starts to develop holes...

- how heavy is it...

- what type of filler...

- how carefull are you with it...

- do you toe scrape with it...

- what type of surface you shred on...

- did a dog get ahold of it...

- did a cat get ahold of it...

- did a one toed sloth get ahold of it... or maybe a naked mole rat.?.?.?

etc...etc...etc...etc...etc...........................................

2) I don't know what kind of filler it is. Very different though. I was thinking dense rubber balls.

the naked mole rat and the 3 toed sloth are still possible suspects for creating the holes in your bag?

lol no the naked mole rat and the three toed sloth are not a possibility. I just figured you guys could rule that out yourselves.

I'm not exactly sure if it's rubber but that would be my guess. It's the mosher bag I bought and I don't know what he fills them with.

To defend Tom, the filler is not abrasive in any way. There is no track rubber in these bags. That's the really old filler that caused holes quickly.

Many variables affect how bags are worn in. Some colours naturally get a few holes in it faster than others. Since its such a heavy bag with not much gather, it not only breaks in faster, it will get a few holes faster than other bags as well. I remember your bag, it did use some very soft facile which would be a possibility of why your bag got holes so quickly. A heavy bag, when it gets dropped will naturally put more pressure on the panels causing wear than a lighter bag. It's a trade-off between break-in time and longevity I guess.

You don't have to worry about the holes though. Patch up the holes with the patching tape that we include with it and use your hands to pick up the bag. A few holes won't affect its playability. As long as you patch holes as they come, it'll just keep getting choicer.

I have played with many Mosher bags and seen them from birth to retirement to the choice bags shelf. They break in super-quick because of their style and their weight and with proper maintanence, they will last you a good 6 months.

Either that, or a rabid wombat got to it before we mailed your bag out.

I've never seen a naked mole rat scurrying in this apartment, but I know of at least 4 rabid wombats they are here.

I have a Tom bag with that really old filler! and I just looked at it the other day and it seems that the red hexs look like they're getting holes in it!

You need patching tape then dude!

Don't use rubber cement, it doesn't feel nearly as nice. I will send you some tape.

Yeah, Matt Cross used washable fabric glue on his, and it gave it a unique feel. Almost like each filled hole became a tiny rubber nub. It was actually kinda cool cuz it gave the bag a grippy feel. Sets weren't quite as great though. I think patching tape, although ugly as heck imo, is the best choice for footbag repair.

You can colour the tape with markers to make it blend in.

Patching tape is the best thing ever. And sharpie mods are cool, although it's a bit hard to use the the right sharpie for some colored panels like Opal and Blue Hawaii.
