How should I stitch if im using sand?

If im gonna be using sand, how tight should I stitch it, and wouldn't sand be better for stalling than pellets, etc?

i guess stitch deep, and gather tightly. sand is good for stalling, but bad for setting. so...... thats why most people use pellets/shot for filler. plus, sand falls out easy. and is prolly bad for bags too. but i dont know about the last one. just a guess.

use better filler! its worth your trouble. trust me

The trouble with sand that it is too light for a good filler to compliment any controlled sets. Great for stalls, but when you consider in improving your game further plastic pellets and shot filler is the choice for a better feel in bags. I suggest stitching loosely with little gather, but make your stitching very very consistent. That's how it looks when you open up a 4-panel bag, like a Mr. Sandbag.

4-14 panels should work well for sandbags in general. Anything more than that and the stitching can be too stiff for sand to work on the bag.
