Stepping Whirl

i don't like setting the bag high for this trick. i keep it a little bit below waist height, and i also try to keep it exactly where i would set a normal whirl. I just do a quick stepping set, and try to keep the bag straight, instead of setting it over some like i was doing a blurry whirl. Just imagine doing a regular whirl, but with a very quick stepping set. you want to start dexing the bag exactly the same spot you'd do a regular whirl.

1 set the bag waist high, but not much higher
2 setting bag straight up helps as opposed to a diag. set
3 quick stepping set that's finished before the bag peaks
4 ***at end of stepping set turn knee inward and down to prep for whirl dex
5 when stepping foot touches ground, there is little to no weight applied to it and it springs up into whirl position with the knee still pointed downward/inward for the whirl
6 hit a downtime whirl just like a regular clipper set whirl
when people have problems with this trick it is usually because of the transition between the first and second dexes. The transition cannot be slow. As soon as the leg clears the bag for stepping and before that foot touches the ground, the knee/leg must change directionality. There is not much time for this trick so efficiency in movement during the time between dexes is the key to hitting it. The whirl is really nothing more than a downtime whirl, so if you can hit an all downtime whirl, you should be able to hit this trick.
