bloughchi anyone ?
bloughchi anyone ?
It seems nearly every website on the net that talks about footbag concentrates on stalling and adds. Not really my scene. I first began footbag and still practice footbag using the Bloughchi style which can be seen on FootBag.com. Do many of my fellow hackers use Bloughchi and does anyone know some other sites devoted to Bloughchi.
Much respect to you shredders, but bloughchi flows.

I bloughchi'd once, but keep it a secret, I don't want anyone to know I dirtied myself in such a fashion. How does it flow more than freestyle? I mean, Lon smith flows like a river. So do lots of other people, but just look at the Lon! Bloughchi stops the bag very quickly and then jerkedly sends it back up, with no slow fluid manipulation of the bag.
Here's some props for being honest though, and a good speller.

Bloughchi is okay I guess. But I just prefer watching people shred like a motherfucker (S.L.A.M.)

Che, I bet you don't shred cause you can't. If you could you would see how expressive "stalling and adds" can be.

player haters
dude, i don't dislike anyone or any style.
I know some really awesome shredders who totally blow me away every time we get together. Its just not my thing. I think it is a little repetitive and it gets a little hard to see the difference between one move and another. I have seen all the vids on the net and i really can appreciate the skill and all. Please don't make this thread about dis-unity.
We all play footbag!

i bet we would be better than blow himself
no one flows like lon
face it bloughchi is doomed

QuantumBalance r u in those vids from hackrules.com ? If so i like your shit.
Other than that, i make a small negative comment about shredding and everyone jumps all over me. I thought i had found a forum where every one is helpfull and open to all things hack. Go stall your sack right in your ass!!!!!
Anyone who reads the article on the Bloughchi system will find that hack can be about more than points and adds. It can be used to bring people together and improve mental and physical wellbeing. Try showing a kid in P.E how to do a Dragon fly kick or a Drifter and then see how many young kids take up footbag as a passtime.
Also I CAN NOT SHRED. I am practicing and trying to get better but if you are the kind of role model for up and comers then f$@k that and you.
And i bet you'd have a bit more respect for "blow" if you met him!

Yo LordKingdomUltimate.
If you think this topic is unrelated to hackey, go get an admin to move it! Also I have no relationship with blough other than practicing his style.
Plus nice name, you probably divided your time equally between footbag and ultima online! Most likely u suck at both.

OH my GOSH!!! I DO play Ultima Online.... woooooow.
do you play?! When I was first starting out I really REALLY SUCKED! I learned some really cool small things that help me out a lot!. Don't be afraid to ask other players for help if you're confused. But do remember to keep in mind rules of common etiquette. Always remember that other players are people just like you. If you know a trade skill (such as fishing, or tailoring), with a very small investment in raw materials, you may start making items and selling them for profit quite quickly. Stealing and fighting are strictly illegal in towns (and impossible on the Trammel and Ilshenar facets) unless you are participating in a guild or faction war. Guards will kill anyone they catch breaking the laws of the land. Shopkeepers inventory may change with supply and demand. If you can't find the item you're looking for in a city, you may wish to visit player-run vendors, commonly found in and around houses in the wilderness. A great way to meet other players is by participating in player-run events and quests. You can find current and upcoming events on each shard listed on the Ultima Online website at http://www.uo.com. The Ultima Online skill system allows you to customize your character any way you want. If you decide you want to change the focus of your character and are no longer interested in a particular skill, just flag that skill to decay by toggling the 'down' arrow next to it in your skill list. As you learn other skills, the decaying skill will lose points over time. Training dummies can be used to practice weapon skill in the safety of town. Large cities such as Trinsic, have training dummies available to the public near the weapon and armor shops. Use your bank vault. It's free after all! Store valuables in your bank vault before heading off into the wilderness. If you run into trouble, you'll know that your valuable items are safe in town. Did you know that UO has its own HISTORY?!?!?! WOOOW Long before the Stranger ever entered the lands of Sosaria and the four continents within — the Lands of Lord British, the Lands of Danger and Despair, the Lands of the Dark Unknown, and the Lands of the Feudal Lords — there arose a young wizard named Mondain. As Mondain grew in age and knowledge, so grew his unquenchable thirst for power and discontent with mortal life. He became obsessed with transcending mortality and gaining perpetual life. Eventually, he learned of the treasured Gem of Immortality, which grants unimaginable power and everlasting life to its owner. Surely, you have heard of this? Now it is my opinion, as shared by most historians in this kingdom, that Mondain's desire for immortality tainted with greed the moral wisdom usual to those who study the power of magic. His wishful longing for the Gem became all-consuming, and after much anguish, he was led to willfully murder the keeper of the Gem — his father. Mondain's name is still cursed in Britannia to this day, for anyone that turns a sword against those of his own blood for selfish gain is believed to eternally align himself with the Dark Forces. But, that is a subject for another eve. To truly understand our present hatred for Mondain, you must know more ... After securing the Gem as his own, Mondain made plans to use it in a ritual that would give him ultimate power. During the ceremony that was to forever bind the Gem to Mondain, the Gem captured an image of the entire land, save the wielder of the ritual — Mondain himself. Once imbued with the power of immortality, Mondain used the Gem as a means to rule the world — until a Stranger arrived, determined to destroy the very source of Mondain's existence. Having journeyed for years throughout Sosaria, this Stranger's quest was to free the land and people from Mondain's dark, shadowy rule. After many battles, he travelled to the ruler's lair and felled the evil sorcerer by shattering the gem. As the essence of immortality was loosed upon the land, the very fabric of the universe began to unravel. And with the power of the Gem gone, Mondain himself was eliminated. We in Britannia celebrate this ever-elusive stranger one day each year as the Hero Who Smote Mondain, for alas, he parted and left no name behind for his legacy. Had he endured a longer stay, perhaps the catastrophe wrought by the release of Mondain's greed might have been lessened. Were it not for the benevolent spirits watching over the world, Britannia might not exist today. You see, concerned by the results of the natural course of events — whereby one man's quest for ultimate power nearly annihilated a world — our guardian spirits set into motion a plan to ensure that the land would come under the rule of the right. Aware of the devastation caused by the destruction of the Gem, they seized hold of the fabric of time and space and re-wove the fibers of Sosaria, which today we call Britannia. It is popularly believed that the ridges lining this island represent the mending seams, though this may be a fancy. It is also rumoured that when the Gem was shattered, thousands of splintered fragments scattered across the universe. Within each facet purportedly lies the very image of Sosaria, just as it was captured during Mondain's ritual. No mortal has yet found the means to find or reassemble these fragments, though as a historian, I am particularly curious as to their existence. Would I not give but my very life for a spell to reverse the flow of time to unveil this bit of history! Perhaps one day, another Stranger will arrive — one similar to yourself — who has the wherewithal to answer such questions. OH Man, That was a long post I made! wooooow.. I LOVE U.... O HAHAH hehe like "I love you". but also UO.. WOOOWO!

Hack (footbag freestyle) has always been more then just points and adds. And it does bring people together to improve their skills and mental/physical wellbeing. I don't see where your coming from saying that freestyle is about points and adds...most freestylers don't go by adds. Its all in fun and not about being really good at something. You are speaking bad about freestyle and Im wandering where this point of view is coming from?Anyone who reads the article on the Bloughchi system will find that hack can be about more than points and adds. It can be used to bring people together and improve mental and physical wellbeing.

Footbag, as I see it, encompases many different styles of play.
Freestyle and Bloughchi are two different styles. Much respect is due towards both of them.
Just because one person likes or dislikes the other doesnt mean that they are an incompitent person, it is just their preference.
To each their own, and good luck to all.

Ok, I swear, I'm going to try to be neutral here.
Now, a while back, I was looking for sites and tried footbag.com and thought the people were out of there minds. From what I read (and that wasn't enough because it scared me) its all about the stuff that we learned to do BEFORE we started playing, but dancing with it, kinda like they did in routines in the 80's.
Now, without refering to a link, I want you to explain to us of the Underground world of freestyle footbag (like, I want you to try to say something to impact all of us) what your side of the sport is about in as much entirety as you can get while still being terse and try to get us to find it cool.
If I am right, its kind of like hippy hack spirit put into a precise yoga/Tai chi version of consecutives right?? That sounds lame to me, but maybe I got it wrong, go for the explanation.
EDIT: No no no, I'm not done.
Look, I felt bad about ragging on it without taking another look at the site, so I looked, and feel much better about ragging on it now.
First of all, the facts are wrong and the site is old. Records are outdated, and descriptions of freestyle footbag, among other things, are bogus.
If you don't want to stall, why does the website sell lameass "stalling stars".
....I can't even think about it...people kick netbag consecutives all the time....when you look at the site, it looks like an out of date, 80's footbag description that I would wager is done by a very small number of people who never found there way into net and freestyle. Please dude, get a freedom footbag and work on some tricks, I swear, same comradery and stuff is here, except you do something that looks cool, is really challenging and not repetitive (like kicking can be) and gives you the hardest workout of any sport I've ever seen. You'll like it if you get into it.....
I'm sorry, I said I wasn't going to be judgemental, but as a player of the sport, I really strongly hate the fact that the easiest and most obvious website out there to find about footbag is the one you talk about. It disgusts me, and its not the sport, we are the sport this forum, me, and the other people out there who always have a footbag with them at all times, always where Lavers, and dream about hitting that one 7 add or Spiking off a backflip after they set the bag themselves I think you guys are hippy hackysackers that give the sport hte wrong name, and...I think you should get your own and leave us out of it.
Ooh, I hate being that way, but I feel really strongly, I hope you can explain to us like I asked, because I don't like what I'm currently feeling.
