This jam is going to be TIGHT! Seriously, we have at least 35-40 shredders getting together in the illustrious city of Montreal. There's going to be tons of shredding and foursquare plus parties on friday and saturday night. There's nothing like partying with fellow footbaggers.
In terms of competition there will be sick 1, sick 3, rippin' run and maybe one or two others as well as the foursquare.
I hope everyone brings their A game, cuz I won't accept anything less, ya hear?

We will keep you informed as the jam draws nearer.

I want to see as many new faces as possible, plus all the peeps I know already.

peace

i find a crash space for about 5$ a night and close to the metro. But you'll need to sleep on the floor. It's the appartment next to mine, it will be empty at that moment. You'll be able to take a shower(bring your towel). The only thing to be careful of is noise, the people that lives above are not some young dude that wan't to party.

i think there's place for about 15 people.

We won't have a party at someone's place, it will be in a bar (Les Foufounes Electrique). So if you plan to party all night, you'll need to take a cab to come back, it's about 20$. (5$ if you're 4). if you take the last metro, 12h45 am, it cost 2,50$.

For the ones that wants to sleep in a bed, here is the link for the Hotel. it's downtown, it's near the bar, it's not far from the Shred spot.

www.residences-uqam.qc.ca/eng/e_welcome.htm

for the ones that are not 18, we won't leave you alone, uncle Kolo don't like bars so he will find something.

Thanks for the info Ianek. $5 for crash space is great, but I'm going for the bed and proximity to the action 8)

Who wants to go in on a suite at UQAM? The Multi-8 looks pimp and actually is the cheapest per person, and everyone gets a bed.

Wow, I didn't know what I was going to do with myself for the first ten days of June. I've got some time off, so this footbag event sounds doable. I'll probably catch a train in from Vermont where I'll be working if I'm going to make it. But I can only make it if there's some crash space somewhere. If at all possible I'll represent the Western shred scene at this years event

The Montreal Spring Jam won't have sick 1 and sick 3 anymore.
We will host the first ever official Circle contest (http://modified.in/footbag/viewtopic.php?t=13157).
Judges will be Yacine, Sebastien and Kolo.
The Referee will be Eliot Piltz.
It should start around noon on saturday.
EVERYBODY should compete!
We will have Prices (footfighters and t-shirts) for the winners and ramdom competitors.

I'll post more info soon.

Can't you do both? Sick1 and Sick3 are easy to do and take no time at all.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to this. It'd be sick if there were a place where I could stash my car though. I will be driving there, but I heard that driving in Montréal is treacherous, especially for driving noobs like myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There's some good Montreal info on the worlds 2004 website > http://www.footbag.org/worlds2004/

Driving there isn't so bad. Most everything is on a grid, so you can't really get lost. The only problems are sometimes you have to make 3 right turns to make a left, and where you need to turn will be one way the wrong way and for the next five blocks, and no right turn on red!, and watch out for all the fearless/blind pedestrians, and parking anywhere downtown is a nightmare, and EVERYTHING is in French (good luck with those parking signs), and squeegees are at most intersections... but other than that, you're set. Ahh, can't wait to revisit my home of 3 years.

What do you mean stash your car? You ought to be more specific, like if you mean a place to park for the whole weekend, or just while you're at the venue, or in the city, or what?

Well, it seems like things have gotten figured out. I was just looking for a place anywhere where I could park my car and take transit to the venue. I'm a pretty new driver, and I can imagine that I wouldn't be very comfortable driving in scary Montreal.

Good news though, Ianek is hooking me up with parking out front of his place. So I will for sure be there!!!!!!! I'll make sure to get the weekend off work.
