Should SPLINT be allowed to be a MOD?

Post by Samurai »

I had a poll asking this question, but then he came and edited it, showing a further abuse of his power. He won't even let you all answer the question that I was asking.

WHAT THE FUCK?

http://www.modified.in/footbag/viewtopic.php?t=13074

Here is where I had a poll. See how he changed it? This is a perfect example of why he shouldn't be a MOD.

sam, i think your taking this too far, and way to personal. there are rules to this forum, and posting video of drug use is a violation, im sure.

so just drop it man. who gives a fuck. just let it go. hes a mod, your not, and im sure theres reason behind it. i want to be free too, but your gonna end up being banned for hating on a mod. dont be stupid. and watch what you say, so he cant quote you for saying some immature shit.

and i dont want to get in the middle of this. im not taking sides.

Though I agree with you on the bush part, you are a little out of bounds here. I read the topic and it showed an easy way for anybody to get baked. I know of at least one 10 year old on this forum, and even the 14 and up's dont need to see that. I seriously think maybe your using your vaporizer too much or something, but you just need to chill. Relax or something, I'd hate to see you get banned for your vendetta against Splint.

You obviously like it splints way better.

Alright Brad. you win. The world is more like you than like me. Fuck it. Enjoy yourself.

Okay, but seriously.

You're actually comparing Brad to Bush. For real.

You're often pretty cool Sam, but sometimes I can't even fathom where you're coming from. You gotta get over yourself.

edit: Sam was kind enough to attack me personally after this post via PM, attacking aspects of my character that have absolutely nothing to do with this discussion.

Nice. :)

and you are to modified what an unemployed bum on the streets living off taxpayers dollars is to America.

Sam, Brad spend hours a day moderating and taking care of the forum, making sure things are posted in the right place, people follow the simple rules that keep the community from becoming chaos and helping users with issues that need mod attention...

What do you do? You sit around and talk crap all day and make messes for the moderation team to clean up behind you.

I'm not saying you are completely useless, you have contributed to the community plenty in the past, but you have done no where near as much for the community as Brad does every day.

Sure Brad slips up every now and again, maybe he shoulden't have edited your origional poll, but he is a human being, and I bet you would do the same in seconds if someone made a thread like this about you and you could do something about it.

I suggest you analize your own contributions to the forum before you go attacking members of the community who actually get off their ass and help out.

I just got a feeling of deja vue from the Veggie controversy all those years ago. Is this trend totally invisible to everyone else?

Jesus, Sam. If you want to make a stand and fight for something, then do so. Having a cry everytime someone disagrees with you will get you nowhere, but shamed.

I DO think there is an over moderation on these forums, but removing Brad's Mod status will fix nothing because there are no boundarys set with regards to moderation.

Stand up like a man, and see to it that something is actually done, rather than having a cry.

You started something because now there's a topic specificly regarding moderation... that's a good thing because now we can all have a mature discussion as to how these forums can and should be moderated, rather than just leaving it up to the individual moderators discression.

Shit, you're always on about making a change in the world, but if you're gonna give up and sook every time something doesn't go your way, in stead of standing up and being a man... well, then the only change you'll make is by adding another quitter to the list of those with broken dreams.

No one gets banned for hating a mod. There is a private area in which Mods/Admin discuss major issues, such as someone being banned. After repeatedly abusing other forum members, not responding to warning after warning, etc, someone is banned as a last resort, and even then it's not permanent.

Is Jim Jansen still banned? Admittadly that was mainly my doing and it felt like there was probably no choice but I don't know if it is accurate to say that banning isn't permanent.

Shredzilla:

Probably 2 years ago Sam attempted to convince the entire footbag community that they should be vegitarians. Some people tried to counter his arguements and it just ended up with Sam saying the standard "F you! F this! You all suck! I'm right!" shpeal. It actually ended with Rob Fuller not wanting to play footbag anymore because he didn't want to be associated with a person that did something so lame. And then everyone said "Sam, you're cool.......sometimes." (I couldn't understand that part).

Anyway, that's a very summarized version. There's more to why Rob quit and why Sam cop'd out.....again.....probably. I don't know for sure because I left the forum in the middle of that controversy. But it just goes to show how often Sam decided to insult the entire community of footbag and all of its players.

Personally, the comment about "You all will never amount to anything" is pretty unforgivable and I would not be afraid to admit my changed feelings toward Sam now.

Yeah, he actually associated Rob with Hitler.

It was a pleasant exchange of views.

Okay... banning is "hardly ever permanent," better? :P

I was thinking about this whole situation last night...and it feels as though Sam is taking his bat and ball and going home.

Except neither the bat nor the ball even belong to him, so his going home effectively affects no one at all.

Jim Jansen is not still banned. I let him back on a lllloooooonnnngggggg time ago. Shortly after Rob left the forum and I became an admin, I think. He posted for a little while here and their, but hasn't been on in quite a while.

And ........ ?

Are you going to let him get away with that ? You need to fight back, defend yourself, and take a stand for freedom !
