Thanks. Yeah, I'm always forgetting how much I like being around people of my own gender. :) :?

I am glad this is on a new page. I was really sick of that other one for some reason.

Last night around 7-ish I had some Thai iced tea. It tasted a little weird, but still good. About 30 minutes later I noticed that my mind was racing a little, wasn't sure why. Things didn't go well during the reasonable night time hours. Then I noticed that I was still up at 4am. I saw the drink still next to my bed, still half full. So I started to drink it again. Talked in FootbagChat, was fun. Then I noticed that I was still up at 5am. Then at 5:30 I was still up and not tired. I felt like it was 7 at night. At 6:15am I went to get gasoline and paid way too much. I finished the drink, then dropped something off at a friend's house, on the door step. I came home, and at 7:30am I went to bed. I slept for 3.5 hours, then woke up just like I had it was a 12 mindnight-9am sleep. I should be tired today, but am not. But the last 24 hours feels like it was spread out over the last week. My mind didn't stop moving the whole night, but it didn't feel like I couldn't control it. I just felt awake. I remember laying down to see if I could just drift to sleep after laying still or something, but it was like trying to do it mid day.

I don't think I will ever get Thai iced tea from there again. I'm not really a big caffeine drinker, and it felt like I had a drink with 8 times the amount of caffeine as coffee. Yuck.

But today went really well. Oooh, I was at work and my boss told me that if I was still there in 35 minutes that I could eat over with his family. I said "No thanks, I've got some stuff I'd like to do tonight."
Him: "Do you want to know what we're having before you turn it down?”
Me: I looked at him.
Him: “Filet mignon."
Me:  :D :D It was SO thick and had bacon wrapped around the outside edge. It tasted amazing.

Footbag, for a change.

Fletch called me up to ask if I wanted to play with him and Alex on the UCSC campus. We played outside and although it was a bit cold, after warming up it felt great. I feel like I played for just about the whole session, unlike normal.

Nothing big to report, just some fun stuff:
-rev. whirl x4 on both sides
-Clip>ripwalk rpt x4, dropped on 5th rw.
-clipper>16 osi, which is probably my record for them.
That's it.

Had fun, didn't hurt during or after the session.

Footbag is fun,
Emily

How dare you clog my blog up like that!!!!!

I mean, Hi Jamieson Hickingbotham :-)

Weekend kick at Fredrick St. Park. Jeremy, Fletcher and I were there, the only ones for a while. It was a perfect day. We sat in the sun and just felt good. For a while. Some net people showed up, and we started to freestyle after a while.

It's all a jumble in my head now, the order in which people arrived, so I'll just pretend this is how it went: After a bit, Ted showed up and said that he's living about 70 minutes away from SC, and he'll be here for a month or so. :-) His ankle seems like it's well again. Then Alex and Steve from in town showed up (the guys from Grass Valley who go to school here). Then Jacob came over from playing net and hopped in the circle, and AJ too. I think the biggest it was at one point was seven people. Freaking sweet. I enjoyed people's company more than usual. And I enjoyed playing, but no more than normal. I tried some different stuff, but didn't feel satisfied at the end by the time I had to sit down.

As a warm up, I'm trying to break my consecutives record. I'm looking to double it soon. :o

I've been consciously not posting in here unless it's footbag related or I'm responding to something someone else says. There have been times I've posted a lot about my life, more about that than footbag at all, I'd like this to be more footbag than me right now. Footbag deserves the spotlight. :-)

...you know by tomorrow I'll be making blog posts about car problems or some story about a weird guy at school.

I schooled for a long time today. I love sweating while playing, it's a strangely pleasant feeling to know that my shins are sweaty. At one point I felt that kind of burny goodness in my chest/head that you feel when you play hard. I'm glad I knew it was a good feeling instead of thinking it is a bad one because they're so slimier sometimes. I took breaks because I needed to, but I kept going so I was happy with myself for that. And for hitting some good stuff. :-)

-25 clip>clip drifter style whch I hadn't done in a while. They make me happy, so I do them when I feel like it.
-I worked on illusions both sides, but mostly flip
-did clipper>11 osi (I'm still unhappy using that spelling, I'm just giving up because I don't know that anything else would be more correct, and people around me us it.)
-schooled pixie set
-did plo>plo>pixie drop. I'm good at that last move. ;-)
-tried strong toe dlo a bunch but only got it once. Was still good to try.
-pixie ss mirage>pixie ss mirage
-pixie illusion for the first time each side :-)
-fairy illusion for the first time each side :-)
-fairy muted reverse whirl for the first time, yum. (strong side only, but I tried flip an okay amount too)
-I had a lot of fun.

I love reverse whirls because they're as easy for me as they looked before I ever tried them. That's not usual in footbag, or for me at least.

It turns out that I am my own favorite shred partner.

Yay, replies. :-D

As I said during the session yesterday, the toes not being bent wasn't intentional. I will try that, Zach. Thanks.

Realistically, I think I'm only my own favorite shred partner because I have the opportunity to kick with other people.

I worked out for the first time in way too long two nights ago. Then yesterday I kicked with Steve for 35 minutes since he couldn't make it to the 5pm kick and we both happened to be a few blocks away from each other. It felt really warm before we started kicking, so within a minute of playing we were both sweating. :-P AJ showed up to kick, and Fletch came to hang out for a bit. Then Steve went to work, and Fletch and I picked up Alex. We three arrived at the beach right when Jeremy did, so we walked part way together. Good timing. Fletch and I tried doubles for a while. We put together a few tricks and practiced them, it was so fun. It was really nice out by the time we got to the wharf, so kicking out in the open sun was nice. Since we were right next to the wharf, we could hear the sea lions barking. Love it.

Today we are less than a month away from the Pajammy Jam in SC. Besides the whole "event" part of it, I realized for the first time that I would be seeing Jeremy Mirken, Nate Linscott, Lon Smith, Nick Landes and other big names compete against each other. How fun to look forward to seeing that level of shred on stage again. (Really) Love it.

:D

Hey weirdo. :-P

Hi Marco. I like that kind of post, feel free to make conversation in here any time you want to. :-)

I haven't been good with posting over the last few sessions, not because I forgot, but because I didn't feel like there was anything I wanted to talk about or remember. I think I've had three or so since I posted in here. I decided to post because it I would probably regret not posting for so long, and not knowing what I did during this time when I look back and read this in the future. One of the sessions was a shoe thrower. :?

On Friday night Mike Hansen came to town for a night. He, Fletch, Alex and I kicked at the Village laundry room. Then we went to a pizza place in town where Mike got a delicious vegan pizza, and Fletch and I shared a pineapple and garlic pizza. YUUUUUUMMMMM. I also had Moxie soda for the first time! Someone it told me it didn't taste good, but the Cherry Moxie was great. And I got to keep the glass bottle. :-) Fun.

I didn't remember hitting anything that I would want to post, but I was reminded that I hit a 39 contact tiltless run, which is the most I've ever hit. I'm sure it wasn't pretty or interesting, but it was still there. Fletch and I had a drifter race and we both lost. :(

But he lost less than I did. ;-)

Also, since my last post I went Salsa dancing for the first time and it was SO fun. A man that can lead is fun to dance with. He can make the follower feel and look like a better dancer. Women love that. A man that can't lead well makes it a lot less fun. Just so you know?

I just had steamed milk and burned my tongue. :-(

Two posts in one day, imagine!

You don't have to imagine.

I kicked with Fletch, Steve, and Jeremy in the laundry room. Fletch and I did some doubles stuff before the session and that was fun. I had a poor session today. I don't know why, but after a while I realized that my head was not in it. My body wasn't doing what I wanted it to, which is always a frustrating feeling. On one turn, I had trouble making myself go so I sat down and psyched myself into playing again. I did it by deciding to do osis, which I could do without feeling bad about dropping. It sounded fun. I did osi for a few turns then did osis x22.

Jeremy and Fletch said they wouldn't have time to play this week, so I'm probably going to play by myself and maybe with Steve or Alex if either of them are free on one day. I want a solo or one on one schooling session in the next few days.

[Edit: King Monkey is so thoughtful.]

It didn't help that when I put my lavers on today I thought there might be something stuck in my shoe or sock. It turned out to be the bruise that I hadn't realized was there on the top of my foot from when a full unopened bottle of wine was dropped straight down on my foot from mid-belly height last night. Ouch. :-)

Tonight was the first session Fletch and I had which was dedicated just to doubles. :) While warming up, I schooled dynos and hit flip again, which I couldn't do last session, and it bit it btb once or twice. Probably once. Either way, I totally got back my left foot dyno which I call my flip, but I've schooled it a lot more than my right leg, so it's better. My left leg is the one I couldn't hit at all yesterday. I just got lost. We worked on, well, I don't know what stuff in doubles is called. I set it, his leg dexes it and I catch it... whatever, we worked on stuff and combos. We're still learning, and don't know tons about doubles, but it's fun and we got a lot better today. While I was sitting down for a few breaks, he skooled other stuff.
