bring back the prop system

Props were one of my favorite things about modified when i first joined. I have no idea why they were done away with. Anyways, who thinks the prop system should be reinstated?

no, it was dropped because one user (I forget who) decided that he'd try and collect them all... which defeated the system as there were only a limited number of props going around.

The only people that want them are the ones that are aching for reassurance from the community that they don't suck.

It was like a points system - you could give people points for making good posts.

I think a better system is the "reputation" style system that you see on a lot of boards. I think Dave Wilder made an attempt to get it implemented at modified but not many people commented. Basically you can give people good repuation for saying good things and bad repuation for saying bad things. It's not anonymous so if you give somebody bad rep they may retaliate and give you bad rep. Also you can't give the same person lots of rep over a short period of time - you have to spread it around a bit.
