Back To Back on your Flipside

Post by Tripp »

Have you ever noticed that certain combos can have both a strong side and a weak side? Some people think they're all tough when they hit a big trick back to back, but it's usually only on their strong side. Take my Blurry Whirl for example.... I've hit it back to back plenty of times before on my strong side (yes, it makes sense), but I have trouble hitting it on my weakside. I usually do the first Blurry Whirl on my flipside because I know it's a lot easier to step out of Whirl on my strong side, but I can't do it so often with my flip stepping.

So if I actually did Strong Blurry Whirl > Weak Blurry Whirl, that would be my flipside for this combo.

Just something I was stinking about the other day. Hope it makes sense to you.

Yeah this even applies to drills

a classic example is Vasek's Stepping Whirl > mullet rpt or Stepping whirl > mobius rpt. In both drills the hardest part is stepping our of mullet and stepping out of mobius. Only done on the strong side.

totally makes sense. I try to hit drills /b2b starting both sides for this reason.

that's why I always attempt to had an extra half rep minimum to my drills and I don't really count something as a drill unless you can hit 2 reps of it.

like on the weekend I was hitting blurriest>blur>smoke repeat - which only counts to me as a 6 move combo - if i hit blurriest>blur>smoke repeat x 2 then it's a drill.
