Awesome vid Nic! It was cool seeing and hearing all the Ozzies after reading their posts online. Man Phil's ridic, so much fun to watch. Jeremy's shred was awesome, everybody had some sick footage in thurr. Hahaha everybody's like "I play footbag for the chicks!" and then Nic's like "Well, you see I'm a 15 year old pedofile..." Hahaa not sure that shoulda made the cut but whatev. Good job on everything!

Nic you have excelled once again. That was a tip top vid.
So many memories, so many good times.
dyalan and jazz playing on the swings made me laugh so hard
Johnny murphy is crazy good.
phil is crazy good.
Can't wait until hobart now.
awesome.

ohhhh yeah. That was awesome, major props!
different editing style for different players: excellent, everyone had their won different feel and it worked great.
nonfootbag footage: again, pretty perfect balance, the credits made me feel happy inside
song choice: pretty good! Yeah the remic wasn't as good as the original, but it's not like it was bad or anything. dunno about smashmouth...
was hoping to see more multi cam angle, but I realise how tough that is, it was cool seeing it once!
audio transitions: yeah, a bit weak, but oh well.
shred level:
:D:D ahh the memories...
zoom and turn in on the NZ footbag logo:
dude.... niiiice.
um, that is all for now. the credits were classy, sweet song too. I think I might watch it again and then post again anything else.
edit: hobart... ohhh can't wait!!
the aus scene.. hmm... I would agree that the players we do have are of a high standard. But we don't have that many new recruits, not sure how hobarts going though. It's hard when we're so spread out.
and yeah stepping fairy and atomic are a good mix

Lol Yeah I was pretty skeptical about putting that in, I was going to do another 'WhyDoYouPlayFootbag' over there but I forgot. Anyway everyone I showed it too said it was funny and not too bad so I chucked it in lol. It will be removed for the comercial copy I think because that could be viewed by future employers... lol I can see it now...shredzilla wrote:Hahaha everybody's like "I play footbag for the chicks!" and then Nic's like "Well, you see I'm a 15 year old pedofile..." "Mr. Bathgate your resume was fantastic and your editing is great... but we don't hire pedofiles, get out of here ya sicko!"
Credits:I'm glad you guys enjoyed the credits as much as I enjoyed making them
I really wanted to use that Redrama song too, I love redrama but their songs didn't fit to any of the sections.
By the way I forgot to credit Alex Urano, Phil Morrison, Richard Pierce and Jesse Malouf for camera work! Sorry guys!
Music Choice: As for the song "I know you got soul", I really like the remix a lot better than the origional, and the remix fitted to Phil's style much more because it's much faster paced and sort of relentlessly furious.
The story with the Smash Mouth song is that I have a clip of Johnny playing in my flat, and that song comes on and he goes "I love this song" and hits an awesome string
Multicam: Didn't work out as cool as I had hoped, but I coulden't think of any cooler way to do it at the time. It was just by chance that I stumbled upon that clip on me and Richards cameras
NZ logo: The zoom and rotate in on the NZ footbag logo was definatly one of the coolest parts of the video to me, if the video was shorted I would have done a lot more cool stuff like that, it went to the music so well and looked so sweet
I think part of being able to do cool effects like that is having good shots, the fact that it was a high angle shot ment I could do that effect, but most of the footage I had was just stright mid shots. I really need to read up on film technique so I can get some killer angles next time. As Ian showed us with his Phil M video, camera angles can add a LOT to a video that you can't add with editing alone.
Repeated strings: I think there was just one Phil string repeated in there, and that was because I imported it twice so it didn't register saying "used 1 time total" to warn me. It was a sweet string anyway and sounds like not many people noticed
In Dan's section for instance I used some big moves from the start of strings in his intro and then put the whole strings in later on with the string-starting move repeated. This was on purpose, I don't think it's a big deal seeing a few moves twice, and it adds to the intro and the strings the moves belong too so it seems fine to me.
Thanks for continued feedback guys! I wana hear everything you have to say!
Keep commenting and I will keep writing books in reply lol.

If I gave props to everyone this would be a laundry list of names. I was really impressed with everyone's shred and the editing was really well done too. The only part I didn't like was the smashmouth song, but that's not really a complaint because I feel like everyone has different tastes when it comes to music. I think my favorite part was Dan Ednie hitting gauntlet.
Definitely going in my permanent collection!
In fact.. I'm watching it again right now before i go shred!

I love the whole move, i particularly liked the intro section and Dan's section cause i thought the music fitted really well. And the new zealand logo thing was awesome.
I really can't think of any criticisms at all.
Also Nic can i use this video for future promo stuff. If you are going to re-edit a copy for professional use then maybe that one cause yeah otherwise maybe i have to put a Parental Advisory warning..haha

hi everyone
thankyou so much nic
this was a splendiferous video that i quite very much enjoyed
i agree with the dylan section being too short, but you couldnt do much about that
its hard for me to appreciate what goes into making a video, as i've never made 1, but i can tell that you must have put in so many hours for this
on that merit alone you have given us something quite significant, even beyond the fun we had watching the shred
its true that the aussi scene needs more begginners, but they will occur naturally i suspect
its mainly brendan grinsberg who we are missing atm
him and janis could make a deadly team in a year from now
the alex urano footage was quite easy by his standards
look out for him at worlds
even my grandma says he has 'footbag legs'
and my grandma knows her shit!
i was very dissapointed not to see more of ian and dyalan
those guys both improved so much
and i think there was practically no footage of either
ian should make a video of the sydney crew, i still havent seen this international man of mystery guido
but i'm sure i will soon enough
thankyou nick
thanks for telling me about it!
also
mega props on the lynton stephens triple around the world making it in
he may or may not dwl this
but he likes phils game so probably
thanks for the props jhonny
i hope everything is going really well for you this year
as aristotle might ask of us, that you 'flourish' and 'fire on all cylinders'
okies

Nick! I know that you said we owe you 35 minutes for watching this vid, and I'd be prepared to watch it 3 times over, back to back to back;
but I was in the middle of watching it when I became so inspired that I acctually have to finish watching it another time. By watching your vid and seeing other footbaggers my age (15-17 kida thing) that are sooo good already... well I'm really gunna have to step up my game if I'm ever going to fulfill my dream of ranking top 10 in Worlds one day. I've made the decision to shred WAY harder. In doing so, I figured that alot of hard shred is going to need alot of cool shred music (wicked-awsome tunes in your vid btw!) so I started burning a new cd of shred music. I figured that I would let the disk burn while I watched the rest of your vid... apperantly my comp can't do both those things at once
. I'm thoroughly in love with what I've seen so far and I promise to watch it in it's entirety ASAP.
GREAT stuff!! I'll talk more l8er.

what can I say nic...that video was sweet as!
it was so good to re-live the memories and actually see how crazy the level of shred was. Its hard to take it all in in person..like, you will see something hit by someone and think "yeah thats big I guess" but when watching it again your more like "holy cow thats insane".
things I liked:
some cool transistions
the spinning nz logo in and outtie thing.. A+
the zoom after the footing of gangsta party>glowing blue bag
Jeremys intro! with the ff and rewind bit
the big moves in the intro with the strobe to black
things i didnt like:
i thought some of the moves were overly slowmowed. mainly blurrywhirls and stuff.
some of the camera angles
repeated run (obviously an accident)
lack of runs from other players..i.e.dyalan, jamieson, hagesy, ian etc.
some runs that seemed a bit below the level of the player
jeremy scratching his nuts..lol
really liked:
intros to main sections
music!!! (five iron frenzy
)
overall a sweet video man. it seems as though I played in many circles. im happy that i got to play with everyone!
next time:
PUT SOME HACKYRICHARD SHRED!!!
that stuff is gold (like his abshire) lol
a bigger section to the "not super pro" players
thanks once again
