I'm pretty sure it's due to the fact that questions have been raised regarding the actions and intentions of the moderation crew, and I know that I feel myself that it's a good time to reflect on the forum guidelines and perhaps rethink what they are and how they are enforced. Modified isn't "ruled" by the mods; it seems to me that there is enough uproarous response to the issues that have surfaced to begin addressing what is really important rather than the censoring of single words, when that censoring is more the enforcement of a formal boundary than of actual censorship. I can only speak for myself but its very likely that the mods have more to consider and worry about than the removal of single words at this point in time.

What does it matter how someone came to be a moderator? That does not really affect in any way the nature of the person in question or that person's ability to moderate and mediate.

I made a throw away comment in responce to something Nic said about Brad being an admin - and then responded to his comment. I wasn't trying to make a point, I was just clarifying something.

Other people clearly agreed with the other points I made in this topic - including Brad, so it seems like you're in a minority. I think it is an issue that Sam would find things a lot easier if he learnt to interact with people better and I think he did raise some good issues. You are of course intitled to disagree with that if you like but I don't think it's "meaningless" and I think the fact that there is so much discussion on the issue (in a few different topics) validates my opinion.

Just create an invite only drug forum, an open drug forum, An invite only recovering addict forum, a open recovering addict forum, an invite only gay forum, an open gay forum, an invite only gay basher forum, an open gay basher forum, an invite whine and bitch forum, an open whine and bitch forum, and everything will be fine. The mental state of the person who made Brad an Admin has nothing to do with anything we're discussing here. I don't even see why it was brought up in the first place.

We should not judge Brad by the way he got this position, but by the way he has acted since he started. If you think he's a bad Admin, argue that. But talking about Rob's mental state seems like a mean spirited and weak attack.

I'd like to think that Rob made me a moderator because we were friends and I was one of his first real life Shred influences when he came to visit Denver from the little town in Canada he was living in.

Now making me an admin was more likely due to the mental breakdown.
