If you got rid of that sandmaster and put a real bag, that would be a good banner.

Yea, the SandMaster was just a lazy version. I am going to remake this probably and put some extra effort into it.

Then again, I might just redo the whole thing. I don't know yet. =D I've got a few ideas I'm going to try out. Thanks for the imput however, it's appreciated.

Peace,
Fred.

I really like it except for the font. The font just looks silly.
As I'm writing this the Modified banner is the following image, which uses a really appropriate and solid font. Try applying your fancy photoshop filters to a better font and I think it could look really great.

Eric, you're missing the point.

Alot can be said through what kind of font someone uses.

I chose this font because it describes what Footbag is to me.

Laid back, colorful (Colorful as in being for anyone, not just hippies and the like. lol), and friendly looking. We're a pretty laid back group of people, and the community is so interacial (Is that the right word?), and we're all pretty damn friendly. Can come on here, talk to someone over the internet, and meet up with them in real life no problem, no worries. Can't do that on other sites... Might be some crazy psycho killer, lol.

If the strong, solid font is for you, that's for you man. For me, it's all about being laid back, having a good time, and just overall being fun for everyone.

Thanks for the imput though.

Peace,
Fred.

(Version 2.0 of my banner might be done tonight, depends. It's a REALLY REALLY nice day out today...)

Two things to consider:

- laid back fun fonts lack professionalism in a huge way
- we are not a very interracial community in the least

I mean to say we have alot of races in this game... Whatever, lol.

Who the fuck cares about proffesionalism? That's not what the banner is for. It's to look cool and represent. I'm making custom ones from now one for anyone in the Midwest that wants one. It will be just like the one I'm about to finish up and post on here. Hope you like it. Back in a bit to post linky.

Peace,
Fred.

Hey man you asked for feedback. The one good thing about the footbag community is that we're gonna tell you what we really think and not blow smoke up your @$$ or break out the K-Y. If you like your graphic, use it! Personally I feel pretty neutral about it, don't love it, don't hate it.

All I asked for was if you liked it or not. It's just... the replies I'm getting are from people who are assuming that this is supposed to somehow be a proffesional banner or something... And it's not. So quite looking at it that way please. It's supposed to be fun, not... boring ass proffesional. Sorry for getting pissed off. By the way, here's the new version of the banner.

Image

It's a customized version, and if anyone in the Midwest wants one, just PM me your name, first and last, what state you live in, and your town. (If it's a really small town, give me a general idea of where it is, north, south, east west, etc.)

Again, sorry for blowing off your opinions... But isn't meant to be proffesional.

Tell me what you think of the new one.

Peace,
Fred.

If you didn't want feedback, you prolly should have said so. I agree with the feedback you got, however. I also feel that the font looks cheezy and cheap. That seems pretty narrow minded and immature to look for a "Yes I like it" or for us to keep our mouths shut. I think I'm right in thinking that you'd get even more pissed if somebody just said, straight up "I think it's trash" rather then giving you ideas they feel would make it better. It's advice... it's your choice to take it or leave it. A simple "thank you" would have probably sufficed, rather then
You're missing the point!!

I think I'll steer clear from giving you an oppinion in the future, seeing as it just makes you mad.

Keep it real, bud

In your first post you say, "Tell me what you think." How else am I supposed to interpret that?

No one's trying to make you "boring and professional" -- I'm just giving you some input like you asked initially. Don't take it so seriously if you don't necessarily agree with me. I'm offering you advice, not trying to cram it down your throat.

I'm perfectly open to anyone's opinions. However, stating that it doesn't look proffesional is just ignorant. It wasn't MEANT to be proffesional. All other opinions were take into consideration.

And good for you, for not liking the text. Taken into consideration and... Denied.

Right now, you're being the asshole. So why don't you go cool off for a bit. That's what I did. Not to fucking mention, DICK, that I fucking appologized for my rude behavior. But you know what. Fuck you, you can just go [Mod edit... Moxie]
I didn't fucking ask for a "yes I like it" or keep your mouths shut. I simply argued that the banner was not meant to be proffesional, nor does it LOOK like it's supposed to be proffesional, so don't look at it that way. Sorry if your dumbass can't read, but don't bring your problems to me.

As for the rest of you who gave feedback, again, sorry if I rejected it in a rude way. And thanks for the positive feedback that was givin.

The new one looks really cool! I'd say the biggest thing that would make it a lot better would be not cutting so close to the edges of the state. From a photgraphical (is that a word?) standpoint it is very distracting. Otherwise, great job man!

This is where I went sour... I forget from time to time that I need to add extra stuff to present propper tone when useing forums. When I say, "Who the fuck cares about proffesionalism?" It isn't meant to sound as though I'm getting annoyed with anyone and I'm starting to get offensive and stuff. I should have either just said, "Who cares about proffesionalism?" or added in extra things to acquire the right tone that I meant to take.

That's the only thing that I can find in any of my posts that would somehow piss you off or w/e.

My bad on that.

Peace,
Fred.

also:

It does not look profesional. You admitted that it does not look profesional. It trully doesn not look profesional. It would be ignorant of me to go and swear my face off at a guy on a forum for stating his oppinion.
^^This is not an oppinion, however^^ this is fact. If you don't want it to look profesional, fine. You've done well. Stating that it does not look profesional is perfectly valid.

Thanks. I saw the problem with the state borders comming to close to the top and bottom borders... And it make the picture look liek it is less than it could be. I am going to try several things with placement of the state... However I doubt much can be done to fix it.

Thanks for pointing that out btw.

Fred.

LOL

I really shouldn't be acknowledging your belligerence, but here we go! I don't know how assuming that you wanted a modicum of professionalism in your banner necessitates me jumping on a dick, makes my ass dumb (and illiterate!), and makes me an ass hole. You didn't indicate otherwise. Well, you did indicate that you wanted to display that you're a fun loving dude -- no problem! However, there's a difference between coming off in a clean cut manner and coming off like Mr. Kid Pix who threw together a logo in all of two minutes. A lot can be said for themed colors, organized design, etc... read: professional design. I think the problem here is a big misunderstanding. You seem to think we're coming at you saying you need to be 'professional' with your footbagging or something, but no one is doing anything of the sort! We're just suggesting to you some methods of making your design look good -- logic seems to follow that if a design was made by a professional as opposed to an amateur (not trying to demean you or say that I know more than you, here) the design would probably look better and be more effective. I don't know how many different ways I can spell this out.

As for the actual design, I feel like I should justify your post with some more feedback instead of just being argumentative. I like it a lot more now! My only thought would be to make "midwest shredding" the same color (probably the white), and "Fred Allen" another color (probably the black that the city name is in).

Lost it... No excuse except for I lost it. Sorry?

Recreate that in 2 minutes. Do it. And even if it was an exaggeration... Do it in 15 minutes.
Nagasake wrote:A lot can be said for themed colors, organized design, etc... read: professional design.
Agreed.
Nagasake wrote:I think the problem here is a big misunderstanding. You seem to think we're coming at you saying you need to be 'professional' with your footbagging or something, but no one is doing anything of the sort!
I'm quite aware of this. And I wasn't accusing anyone of doing any such thing. I said you were veiwing it as though it was intended to be a proffesional signature. Which it's not. And again, I appologized earlier for my abrupt (SP?) outburst, which... you must have overlooked because you continued the argument 2 or 3 posts later.
Nagasake wrote:We're just suggesting to you some methods of making your design look good
Reread my posts. I took things into consideration, and changed a few things up. Including the size/positioning of the state mentioned by the last poster. I just have some information I need to get before I show the new version because I'm not making the next one with my name/location, but someone else's.
Nagasake wrote:-- logic seems to follow that if a design was made by a professional as opposed to an amateur (not trying to demean you or say that I know more than you, here) the design would probably look better and be more effective. I don't know how many different ways I can spell this out.
You don't need to spell it out in any other way. I was somewhat unclear on my desires for the feedback on this topic. And I appologize. I simply want to know, if you like it, or if you don't like it. I am also very open to suggestions. However, keep in mind, that this is not meant to look proffesional in any way. It is simply for veiwing pleasure, and may become something bigger at a later time if ever a chance were to arise.
Nagasake wrote:As for the actual design, I feel like I should justify your post with some more feedback instead of just being argumentative. I like it a lot more now!
Thanks.

I see what you mean. I did look at this problem however, and I decided that I like the look of it. I think the offsetting of white and black looks good, in my opinion. However, I appreciate the tip. If someone wants their own customized version of this banner, I will of course have the option to interchange the colors such as you have described.

All cleared up? Thanks for the much more mature argument. I can never be mature during arguments online unless presented with a mature argument, lol. Sure, they were mature before you came in, but I was being an ass (Sorta) without realizing it. Shit happens.

Peace,
Fred.

Just so you know. I had to create the far background, then create the faded background, thendo the rest of the easier editing. Like putting in the state, the footbag marking my hometown, and the text. That takes alot longer than 20 minutes, let alot 2 minutes.
