yeah i dont know about the name though. It has already taken a lot of hits. I think its previous name (nintendo revolution) was much better

I gotta say, Zelda looked tight as heck on that thing. But, that being said, Zelda's like the only Nintendo franchise left that I care about. I used to care about Mario, in fact I'm getting a DS just to play NEW SMB, then I'll sell the DS after I beat it. But I stopped playing console Mario with 64. A lot of people liked it. None of those people were me. Same with Sunshine. Hated it.

So yeah, Zelda is rockin the house on Wii, but that's about it. I might just get it for GameCube instead though since it's coming out for both systems.

Oh yeah, the tennis game looked neat too, but I don't have any friends that are gamers and that's more of a 2-4 player game imo.

I just feel sorry for the poor bastards that go out and buy the piece of shit, and then find out that the controller breaks once every 2 months. I'm sorry, but it's gonna be impossible to prevent it. Any video game utility with that kinda wireless setup dealie is bound to break. Especially when it comes with the system. There's gonna be a lot of unhappy kids with a lot of broken remotes.

Seems sketchy to me.

Does anybody know how much it is? I'm dying for a PS3 for the Final Fantasy XII remake (yay cloud) but this looks too cool to pass up. Is it gonna be too expensive?

It's probably going to cost a LOT. Just from the talk. If its anything near what the PS3 has been pegged at, we're talking maybe five hundred bucks or more. which isn't that suprising really - my 30gig ipod was four hundred...

then again, I bought a nintendo 64 on sunday for $17. Speaking of which - does anybody have any N64 games kicking around they'd like to sell me? I'm looking for mario 64 or an expansion pack so I can play Donkey Kong. The system was super cheap, but the games still cost more than that used!

What's your reasoning there? Why would the ybreak? Would you say the same of the 360? Do you really think they're that stupid? Who knows, maybe they are... actually nintendo have a good history of f*cking themselves over, so you may be right.

I still have a 64, and I'm always on the lookout for mario 64. I'd love zelda too... but they are hard to find

I'm pretty sure the Wii is completely backwards compatible, and old games can be downloaded on to the unit.

'Wii' is a little silly, but who knows, after the initial humour wears off they might pull it off.

Nintendo has always been known for durable systems. The GCN was the most durable out of it's generation, and people have had Gameboys that were run over and still worked! In fact, my cousin dropped his DS in the toilet (screwy kid, I tell ya) and it still worked after being soaked.

I have no doubt that the system will be highly durable. In the speculation point after the DS was announced, plenty of people said that the touch screen would break and get scratched like crazy from stupid little kids. This hardly ever happens, due to the screen being actually quite durable.

So in history, Nintendo has always held the best reputation for durability, without a doubt. All my friend's PS2s broke within 3-6 months. My XBox stopped working after about a year and a half. My Gamecube? Still runnin', and THAT's why I like Nintendo.

And about the price - they announced that it would be much cheaper than PS3 or 360, something along the lines of "more fun for much less money." So I doubt they'll be following the high price trend that Sony set.

I'm really looking forward to the Wii, it looks awesome! And man did anyone see the DS line-up? I'm so excited to have a DS right now.

the Wii is guessed to be priced 150-200 USD.
Wii has emulation support for all the old nintendo games through virtual consoles. The games are downloadable at the rumoured price of $2.

i'm a big nintendo fan, but i just don't like that name at all. Imagine the commercials for games: "Available for the Playstation3, XBox 360, and Wii."

How many people have broken TV/Vcr remotes etc. etc. etc. and how is this any different from a TV/VCR remote? They get stuck in the couch, stepped on, dropped on the floor, drinks, crumbs, the batteries get lost, the battery cover gets lost. I mean, unless they have some pretty wicked innovation to make this thing any different from a TV remote control, what's gonna prevent you from losing it in the couch and having to buy a new one? I mean, not only is the durability of a remote control more than questionable when in the presence of the younguns, but just the overall design...I mean, it's a little remote control. Next thing you know you'll be waving a penny around or something. I dunno, I prever a regular controller for video games, straight up.

you guys trash talking the Wii are retarded. I heard the same as Cameron, its going to be $200. And all nintendo systems are insanely durable. So many people still have NES. With working light guns for duckhunt. Its cheaper, much cooler than ps3 or 360, and actually involves MOVEMENT. its sweet.

Using that reasoning, you shouldnt get a PS3 either, for fear that the memory card might get lost. And what if you lose games?
