yeah, whats the difference between the wii controller and any other wireless controller? And it also has a regular looking controller for the older games / multi platform games etc.
and im actually glad the PS3 stole the idea so the Wii may get more PS3 ports- although it may not be able to handle the same level of graphics.

I heard you can also play older games on cartridges as well.

http://wii.nintendo.com/

Virtual Console: Wii will have downloadable access to 20 years of fan-favorite titles originally released for Nintendo 64, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and even the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The Virtual Console also will feature a "best of" selection from Sega Genesis titles and games from the TurboGrafx console (a system jointly developed by NEC and Hudson). It also will be home to new games conceived by indie developers whose creativity is larger than their budgets.

Holy frick, this is going to be AMMMAZZZZING!

that would be siiick, but i doubt its true cause Nintndo probably knows they can make more money of selling downloads of old games if they leave tthat feature out.

Which company did you think had the best E3 press conference?

Microsoft 12.59% 6514
Nintendo 48.95% 25315
Sony 26.88% 13901
It's too close to call 11.58% 5989

TOTAL VOTES 51719

(GameFAQS poll of the day, I'll post the final results later)

Well obviously if you don't treat your controllers with respect they're going to break. Cords don't change it that much, plenty of kids just leave controllers lying all over the joint.

Play old cartridges? it'd be an ugly old thing, with 500 different cartridge slots all over it... I'd rather pay $2 and download it

Nintendo dominated, and that in itself is really surprising, and really exciting.

Ugh. Just you wait, jerks.

I also still have my old school game boy...my 80's nes, and my SNES and cartridges and manuals and boxes.

I dunno though. After virtual boy and NU64 (Yeah, I called it NU64), I was completely turned off of all things Nintendo. I don't like the way that they set up their controls, I don't like most of the games on the system, and I don't like how they rely on the same franchises (Mario, Zelda, SpaceFox or whatever, Metroid, etc. etc.) Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the original Mario and Zelda and Metroid, and still play those games. But I mean, do they really have to make 7 Mario/Zelda/Metroid games for each time they make a new system? I mean, other than the graphics, what's really changing? Now you could say all sorts of things that're changing, but realistically it's the same game. You play as Mario, and you save the princess. Basically what I'm saying is that I'd have a lot more respect for Nintendo if they didn't rely on a cartoon character to pull them through hard times.

"Sales of our new Super Duper Quadruple Screen Game Bizzoy dropped a lot this month!"
"I know, let's make another Mario game!!!"

EDIT: I'm not really saying that I'm definitively right here. But that's definitely how I've seen things recently. I just plain old don't care for Nintendo, and no amount of "You're wrong Skippy. Nintendo's doing a good thing now" is gonna change my mind.

Check this out. I'm pretty sure this is completely unprecedented.

That's a huge burn on Sony.

Why change if it makes money? There are also certain franchises that make money on each of the other systems

PS: Gran turismo, DDR, THPS, Crash Bandicoot.
Xbox: Halo, Fable, Elder Scrolls...

I'm more of a playstation guy myself... but the way the wii seems... should be interesting... It's a way of making games more interactive. Look at the DS, hell...

I just hope that the Konami makes another beatmania game for the US...
