Man. I'm so disappointed that I can't come to this. :(

I'm going on a family vacation on the 20th or 21st.
I know some other guys in Georgia that would definitely be interested, so hopefully they can go.

don't feel bad fellas, i wasn't making references to footbaggers in idaho. i'm talking about the kickers in the AL, GA, TN region that think, "now that i'm in college i don't have time for footbag anymore." those dirty SOUF boys need to set up a tournament soon.

on a personal note, i'm still heavily involved in my job search coming out of an interview. currently i'm talking to 4 companies in Memphis, TN; Nashville, TN; W. Palm Beach, FL; & Greensboro, NC. i hope to have this thing sorted out in the next couple of weeks. i'm packing up the apartment and i don't even know where i'm going yet.

Oh no, Elliott. We'll have to have a going-away shred with the Greater Nashville...Whatever the club is called on .org crew.

Also, I'm all over this tourney if I can get the time off work. (I just started a new job, so it will be a week or two before I can ask for time off.)

Updates

Post by tluck234 »

Here are some updates. There is only going to be novice and open divisions, no junior. Hope all of you can come! In reply to a message, the Athens Footbag Club consists of about 10 members, even though it doesnt say that on the internet. We mostly have people from one school, but that is what this event is all about. Getting people into the sport of footbag and showing off the awesome people who play it. The event is going to be hosted behind my house.

well memphis & w. palm beach are out. i just had an interview in nashville the other day, so a farewell shred may not be in order yet. c'mon dustin! winchester is practically a colony of AL, and what's up with all you schmucks getting jobs? i need one too.

what is the shred surface at the tourney? if i make it to this thing i've got to bring a net set or two. i think your going to have a hard time getting people to sign up for doubles freestyle... the only tournament where i've seen it was worlds. is there shred 30 or just routines? i've got to warn you that both are difficult to judge and require video recording. it would be easier if you just had a informal jam; it takes the majority of the pressure off of your shoulders.

The freestyle is routine. 2 minutes to music. If no one does freestyle doubles, we'll just cut it out.

Shred 30?

Post by tluck234 »

Would a Shred 30 be a better division instead of having freestyle routines? Had a guy tell me he would rather have that.

shred 30 is by far easier to judge than routines. however, it would still involve video recording and use of the add system. save yourself some grief in the judging department and just do a shred 30 for the freestylers. what is the shred surface (ex. concrete, dirt, grass, turf)?

i think that it's gonna be a his house, so i'm unsure about the shred surface as well. does anyone have any shred mats? we should be able to work something out - i trust. hey lee are you too scared of grass to register for the tournament? and donald i think you're gonna have a rough time trying to get people to show up and compete before noon, especially if you've got people coming from out-of-state.

as i discussed eariler, i thought i was moving across the country for a job, it turns out i landed a job in my own backyard. i'm a cartographer for an agency that does work for local municipalities. i start on monday so i'm pumped about this. so i'm going to be in the area for a least another year or two now. i'm sorry if i made anyone cry.

Time and Surface

Post by tluck234 »

It's at a lot beside my house. There is a road right beside the lot if you want to try and not get hit by a car. We can always move the times. What is a shred mat? Never heard of it. If you can tell me where to find some, I'll definately get some for it.

a shred mat is basically a foamy mat for shock absorbsion.

alot like a highschool wrestling mat, but can be bought in like 1x1' squares.

edit: and you dont have a time for novice freestyle... do you know a time?

ill be there, and can i regester there, or do i have to before hand?

Novice Freestyle

Post by tluck234 »

We don't have a novice freestyle, but intermediate freestyle is basically the same thing. I just started doing serious freestyle about 4 months ago, and I'm gonna compete in the Intermediate. You can register there, but if you can register online please do. (It gives me a look at who's coming) You don't have to pay online.
