Yeah so....

I passed my senior recital jury, all thats left is to walk down the isle with my deploma. Pretty fucking scarrry! I drank myself into oblivion last night. I guess I won't be celabrating cinco de mayo very hard tonight. Haven't been over indulging in many other aspects of life, in fact I've been feeling pretty decent. James however hurt his ankle and won't be playing for a little bit

On happier note that means more solo sessions! I went to campus today:

gyro dlo and SPINNING DLO bsos
whirling swirl and reverse whirling swirl bsos
spinning ducking butter>butterswirl>rpt

My game is feeling great right now, the perfect blend of clever, moir and Smith(in my mind anyway  )... how long this will last is another story.

This post makes me sad because now page 11 is 2 clicks away :(

I am truly flattered you try to mix in elements of my game into your own. I hope we can rip it this summer together.

"...9 out of 10 shredders are frauds
you know who you are
always talkin bout your big add moves like fog
and blurry tricks with whirls?
Its like we're from to different worlds
you one trick wonders really get on my nerves
cause I beyond this, on some futuristic stylee shit
I close my eyes when you freestyle cause I can't bare to watch your stalls miss"

Please don't take this or anything else I type online seriously!!!

2 solo sessions yesterday.. worked small moves... didn't hit any tricks that I will never hit again so I won't post any of them.... confusing syntax?

Good balance of music, food and drugs lately...need to get sleep and girls mixed in there some how and life will be perfect.
I took today off from shred so tomorrow should be shuffle-tastic! till then...

Yeah, props on the recital. I had no doubt in my mind you would pass. My guitar still has smoke coming off of it since you last played it.

Fuck yeah torch, our sessions rule!

For all yall that don't like self indulgent, brag-heavy blog posts, please browse elsewhere...

Swivel baby!!! I owned that move today. bsos. mid genuine. everything! my game felt soooo slow and relaxed I don't think I am every going to shuffle again. Just spin and downtime my way into a happy bliss.
pdx blender was also spot on today, although I think of it more as an inspinning ss swirl... that realy helps me.
so yeah I hit 6 unique one side downtime moves too: swirl>revswirl>whirl>sypm whirl>rev whirl>symp rev whirl... just need to add a pdx drifter>gyrowhirl>rpt
speaking of which gyro whirl x 2
also hit about 40 surging sets though I have no idea if they are clean...james will let me know, if he ever heals. oohhhhh wait I don't care if they are clean or not cause I play for fun.. almost forgot.

super sunny out today...met some cool folks whilest kicking, they asked me how I got so good. I said by being freekishly obsessed and thinking about little esle EVER. We got a beer afterwords anyway. Always room for beer. and tank tops. I love tank tops.

SWIVEL!!!

Very laid back session tonight. James' ankle is seriously fucked, not sure if he'll play again before I move. Very depressing.

Had a good senior recital rehersal earlier today. Should be a fun show. Afterwords we had a funky ass jam session and a few horn players from down the street came over and we had a grand old time.

Not much to say... I think I'm going to stay in and do some thinking tonight.

It was a skorching hot day in Eugene today. I spent the whole day lounging around and finger pickin my git. Met some rather nice folk on campus, so many people play music in Eugene, it is nice. Its quite a different experience feeling normal on campus, as opposed to when I am shredding, haha. Sometimes I tell people I kick and they ask me if I have every met that "crazy guy on campus", I ussualy just say no to see what there opinions of me are...Mixed to say the least. I don't want to move out of a college town for a long time.
So my toe is officialy three shades of purple and 4 shades of red, along with a nice white flesh tone that changes by the hour.... yeah not gunna take shots on an empty stomach for a while... I think I should be all healed up by June.
Well I played footbag today despite my injury, barefoot. Worked some flip fairy and atomic. Mainly flip fairy, pretty decent progress. At the end of the sesh I got 25 butterflies and 7 osis, which I think are my barefoot records. My toe seems to do fine, so I'll be doing lots of barefoot sessions for the next little bit. YAY!!!
Feeling pretty good about things, SR rehersal tomorrow, jam session at a bar on wednessday, and then a long weekend (minus class which I may or may not go to). I need to make fliers w/ pics... anyone have any suggestions on how I would go about doing that?

I just realized I haven't noticed my back for a couple of weeks. It was tweeked a bit before but isn't noticable curently. hurray

It's always nice to realize that you're not in pain. Or right when you're starting to recover from a really bad cold and you can actually breathe again. That's a great feeling. Yay for no back pain. :-)

Good luck on healing that foot.

Life is good my friends!

Just got done an incredible rehearsal with my group. The drummer and bass player are locking up like they have been touring for years. Every solo develops to an epic climax. Song endings are heartfelt and unique every time. I feel ultimate control over my fingers and even 16th notes at the fastest tempo feel relaxed. Shit feels GOOD!
I've been kicking everyday too, despite my severed toe. It really only hurts when I walk, but luckily I have enough endophins/addrenalin while shredding to be pain free. My game feels pretty relaxed and creative. Swirls are pretty consistent. Shuffle when desired, not often. Tripless dex-free feels good (xspin baby!)
Got lots of new friends I've met from jammin' on campus... Got an email 2 new guys joined the Eugene footbag club, not sure if that will go anywhere. Currently drinking beers with my homies and watching a Led Zepplin DVD, talking about life, love and the future.....
Sorry for writing such a self indulgent post... NOT!!!!
That’s what bloggin's all about baby!

I missed it obviously but how did you fuck up your toe?
the other night I slammed my pinky toe into emily's coffee table, I feel your pain although yours sounds a bit worse.. how important is a pinky toe anyways though right?

Wish I was having that much fun... about 3 weeks and then finals still for me :(

your shred sounds nuts as usual.

Well I'm glad that that you can "convince" yourelf that you are "truly happy." I assume that that is what you have taken from our last conversation. Listen up all of you footbagers, if Nate is happy then everything should fall exactly into place. He is 22 and he has experienced just about everything; he knows what's best.

Just finished my senior recital. It went well, good to see so many family and freinds in one place. My life feels incredibly odd right now. Adrenalin+life changing situations+ performing= WTF!!!! Gunna go shred now, should mellow me out a bit.

Well well I think its time to pick at my brain a bit via the keyboard and the always-inspirational modified.nl
Life has been a bit different since finishing my senior recital. I have absolutely no stress. My only responsibilities are to help my fellow classmates procrastinate doing their papers and finals. I am currently at work, however, my "work" consists of browsing online for an hour and fifty minuets and maybe helping a person or two find some cd's. Yes life is very close to Utopia right now. I've made a pretty good friend recently, my first good friend (EDIT: from eugene [much love grom and mox]) that doesn't reguarly drink or smoke in a long time. The weather has been decent and we've been taking lots of walks. I sat by the river for a few hours; I need to do that more!
Yeah I had two gigs this last week. I have no idea what genre music I want to play. Jazz is great and I am very glad I have spent four years studying it, but geeze singing popular music sure is fun! Improvisation is great fun, but people smile a lot bigger when I perform familiar tunes. Those last two sentences were rather redundant.

Shred has been immensely pleasant lately! I've felt so controlled and have so many new links. I don't dare post them, as I'm sure it will jinx myself for the Santa Cruz event. It is nearly impossible for me to perform at tournaments the way I do on my home turf with my homboy James Erickson. I’m going to miss the dude a whole lot when I leave this place.
My lavers already almost have holes in the sole near the toes after LESS THAN TWO MONTHS!!!! I really feel like my form has gotten better yet my shoes are wearing through faster??? BLAST! I see goonits in my near future...

well that’s about all I have to say currently, oh also I like French now. I sat in on a class with friend. I'm sold.

I feel you on the sole-wear thing, man. I used to have the same thing happen to me. I got really sick of that, so I reformed my style a *lot* with my new pair. Less dragging and all that (even dragging your feet while kicking can ravage them, somehow). I've had these for a few months now and they're wearing a lot more evenly, and I still haven't broken into the white part yet!

Just poppin in to say hi, tho. glad life is going well for you.

Sick combos, my friend! Your game sounds like the icky dopeness these days. Are we about to cross paths at the US Open?
