Please, can we stop posting here unless you're Tom-with-news. It will make it easier to:
forget about it and let the footbag shoe come to us

You guys want some news?

How about this, I had an epic conversation with Steve Brown and it looks like I am going to get to go ahead and make us a shoe to be manufactured. 8)

Start getting excited and saving your pennies.

can you at least get some input from THE WHOLE FOOTBAG community to see if WE (the consumers) like the shoe?

Before making jerkbutt 'attack toms character' style posts realise that there is nothing to see yet!

This is what has happened so far:

- first I did a hypothetical design of a shoe for a class in ergonomics
- since I did a good job of that I was allowed to go ahead and take on the project more formally in my thesis class
- the thesis project was VERY successful, I made two prototypes with the assisstance of a local shoe cobbler
- Duncan liked what I accomplished and I was given 'Inventor Submission' forms to fill out to get the paper trail started
- I am about to hand in those forms and then the REAL process begins

What happens next upon approval:

- I will contract the same shoe guy here in town and he and I will begin the lengthy process of designing the shoe
- This is where the community aspect comes in!
- I will take all the input I recieve and apply that to what is taken into consideration
- the first mock up will be made and reviewed then sent to the factory with some specific instructions and they will send us the first factory made footbag shoe
- it will get reviewed and revisionary changes will be made
- the process of tweaking the design will be repeated until the shoe is perfect

(get ready for this)

- THEN THE SHOE GETS MADE AND SOLD TO YOU GUYS!!!!!!

Don't fear, the community will be invilved when the time is right!

I would totally mod your shoe and pimp out in freestyle. :o

I was thinking the same thing... it would be sorta cool to leave room for our own ingenuity. But by the same token, the whole point of a Footbag Shoe is that it doesn't need modding. It's already done... I think that it would be super cool if it was all white mesh. that way we could still add our own ingenuity by colouring them, but each shoe would already be completely perfect for footbag by default. That way there's no room for bad moding-jobs, but we still get to express our uniqueness.

@Tom
I'm sure that you've spent more time thinking about this than I have, so if you've already come up with this idea: I support it!!
