Hopover Swirl, or Symposium Rev. Whirling Swirl ???

What really is the difference between inside set symposium reverse whirling swirl and hopover swirl? 1 add? Is there a loop hole in the add system?

For example, look at Ales demo on .org of hopover swirl. Although maybe not super duper clean, I really can see the symposium reverse whirling there. Where does one draw the line? Is it a [bod] add? Or is it really a symp rev whirling set [bod][dex]

damn it, ales was skinny back then....

yeah its a tough call, in this particular vide it si realy thin too say. i think a hopover swirl is in the most of the cases clearer than this.... when i do it it defenatly doesnt looks like this...

the way I do them is similar to Ales, but almost everyone would refer to it as a hopover swirl. I'm just looking for peoples opinions on the matter. It really does look similar to someone hitting symp rev whirling swirl from the clip.

I think its totally a symp rev whirling swirl. I mean aren't hopovers meant to not leave your foot (the bag)?

It's a smp reverse whirling swirl, there's no doubt about it. I don't know you guys are talking about -- that's a pretty clean move, he executes. The windows are very consistent and even in their paths, aside from the fact that he definitely gets the dexes.

Hopover swirl needs to not have the dex, imo. Sort of an antiquated move.

heh, what I mean to say is that the trends in the way people execute moves and the move selections that people have these days makes it silly to try and differentiate between the two moves. imo w/ the dex is easier than without.

The video is reverse whirling swirl.
It's a sloppy hopover swirl, because like Sam said you need to actually hop over your leg, with your hopping leg vertical (not semi-horizontal like a whirl dex). There shouldn't be a dex in hopover; you should be hopping over the calf, not the foot and bag, so the bag should be on the outside of the hopping/"dex"ing leg and therefore no dexterity is performed in a proper execution of the hopover in hopover swirl.
