I wish I could hit legovers out of zulu consistanly. Pixie Zulu Legover b2b would be the coolest combo ever. I'd try harder to put Pixie Zulu Toe into my strings but it seems like a let down of a trick - so much going on uptime and nothing downtime.

I hit 29 plos today, and some wicked 5-8 contact runs which highlighted stuff like outside set plo to outside stall, atom smasher, symp dlo out of toe, pixie zulu, and fairy osising dragon. Not any long strings though. :( All in all I had fun.

Even though its not footbag related I went to visit a friend at MSU over the weekend and had alot of fun. I think I should be able to get in now that I've gone to collage and gotten better grades. I now have a 3.5 ish, which is awesome when compaired to the 2.7ish that I had at the end of high school.

Woohoo. Today was a good day. I was averaging around 10- 15 contacts, with an occasional run over 20. I had a run with 7 uniques in a row as well. The highlight though was hitting Pixie op DLO in the middle of a 17 contact run.

Had a couple of rough days there catching up with friends that I haven't seen in half a year. All's kewl. I was kicking yesterday and tried to stick to mostly outsides for my strings. I had to stay tiltless, but I did manage to hit some small links. It was fun. I also had a kewl string, even if it was short.

plo>alpha DLO>plo>ss Miraging Pincher> toe > plo > smear > butterflyer > spining dragon > pdx mirage > plo > datw > bail

So the big question is: Should I consentrate on adding more variaty and bigger tricks, or should I move back to a tiltless style with the focus on outsides and soles and the occasional big(er) trick added in? Please reply with ideas. :)

You can do both.

Warming up before playing hard is important. I recommend practicing your tiltless game and simple outside stalls and soles for the first half of a session, trying to not play too intense. When you are well warmed up you can try busting bigger tricks.

Thanks Outsider. I'm going to keep up with the guiltless shred, but I was wondering what I should put more work into. I think I'm going to try the tiltless shred with my toe guiltless mixed in, and try to work that stuff up until I can kick guiltless with the less used surfaces. What I'd love to do is take your dragons and rolls, GF Smoothies pinchers and rolls and multiplexing, and Ginzu's multi ball shreding. That would be like the most uber style ever. Really turning it up to 11 and whatnot. :)

And yes, dblthnk84 comes from 1984. That is one of my favorite books, and I used it to create my yahoo email. Then I used it for all my other emails, and forum accounts. I like the consistancy, every once and a while someone recognizes me from something else. 8) I'm a popular guy like that.

Smear>Butterflyer>Dragonosis is the greatest combo ever to pull off in the middle of a string. I just wish my dragon set was better so that I could hit something other that a toe stall out of it consistantly. I guess thats why I'm working on simple ouside set tricks.

I've been trying to get back in shape all week from around a month off of kicking. Before my break I was hitting 10+ contact strings, with 20's hit severial times a session. This week my longest string was 9, and that was only PLO's. I hit a couple 6 and 7 contact strings with variety, but I'm very dissapointed in my string lenght. And my endurance. Oh well, I'm going to have to work harder than I thought for the upcoming shred.

Wow. I've just started trying to get back into shape. I found some people in East Lansing that can shred, and I want to be able to hold my own when I go back to school in the fall. My game is coming back pretty quick, but I lost most of the stuff that I was just starting to get down before winter set in.

Today's highlights were:
21 PLO
3 Pixie Pickup
3 Osis-Dragons
2 Pixie SS Mirage
2x Pincher > Leg Over
3 Flying Clippers (I know I could do more, but it was raining out and my basement has a low ceiling)
7 or 8 strings that were over 10 contacts guiltless.

My New Trick was:
Swirl Hopover

And I was getting frusteratingly close to (again):
toe set > same in [dex] > duck [bod] > op out [dex] > op xbd pincher [xbd][uns][del]

I think that will be my first six add, unless I forgot about something or misscounted on another trick. I've had it bounce out of the back of my knee severial times now and know that it's only a matter of time before I can seal it.

I was also wondering if a fairy osising rake would really get five adds? It seems like it would be one of the easiest five add tricks possible.

I think it would be something like:
toe set > same out [dex] > osis movement [spin] > toe [xbd][del] > rake [bod]

Of course dimwalk pincher is also pathetically easy...

I'm hoping if I post in here constantly it'll help... encourage... me to shred daily.

Today's session was a blast. I only kicked for an hour so far, but I had a 19 contact string that was guiltless except for a toe bail out of a pincher, and I finished it with a hand catch. I had at least seven unique tricks in that string too! I wish I could hit a string like that everytime I tried.

Highlights:
22 PLO's (that's one more than yesterday! I also had two 20's before I got that)
2 full rotations of Smear > PLO > Smear >PLO, for eight contacts.
3 Osis-Dragons, multiple times. I'll start getting more soon.

Hmmm, Smear>Atomsmasher you say? That sounds like it would look sweet. I've been meaning to work on my flip atomic anyways... I'll try it next time I kick. Thanks for the suggestion. :D

The Smear>Atomsmasher combo was a no go... so far today. I might kick later, and tommorow is also another chance for it. The farthest I got was Smear>Atomsmasher>Smear, with the last smear being so far off balance I had trouble catching it, much less setting to my weak Atomsmasher. A question though, does it still count if I do a leggy atomic set instead of a hippy one on my flipside? That might be a little easier for me... I'm still going to go for both hippy set atom smashers.

I had severial strings around 10 contacts today, including one that had Merlin (symposium quantum mirage, right?) in the middle of it, along with a butterfly pincher.

I also had another 2 full rotations of Smear>PLO [rpt], and almost had the third.

23 PLO's for today, one more yet again! I can't wait to break last years record of 32.

I only was getting 2 Osis-Dragons or the 3 was to sloppy to count today.

My atomics are hippy, but I think that either one is fine, right?
Personally, I find that hippy atomics look a lot smoother, but what do I know.
Hit that combo on tape so that I can see it. (smear > atomsmasher (rpt))
When I do it, I sort of break it down into two halves. What I mean is, do the smear than the atomsmasher. As you are setting for the other smear, tell yourself to delay for a second longer than you normally do. When I was trying this combo, I had the tendancy to ruch the second half, thus sending the second smear's set way too far out in front of me.
Good luck
Oh yeah, while you are at it, TAPE GF and let me watch!! :D

Still having trouble with my atomics. I think I had them better last year... Meh. I'll just keep working on them until I get them.

28 for PLO's, getting closer to last years record of 32.
I hit 4 osis-dragons today a couple times, and a (metric) shit ton of sets of three.

The highlight was a really awsome feeling string of, I'd guess, easily 20+ contacts. I lost count early on, but hit some sweet stuff in it. What I remember is Magellan, PLO, Smear, and Symp Mirage all both sides, along with Osis-Dragon to Butterflyer to pincher to legover, and tons of other sweet stuff. I think I probably had at least 12 uniques guiltless moves. The only downside is that I did have a couple toe bails: but I'll forgive myself because they were all in the rythem, never more than one in a row, and usally out of something wierd like Osis-Dragon or a pincher move. It was sweet. I'm happy that everything is coming back quickly to me.

If I get a chance to shred with GF I'm more than willing to go borrow a friends cammera and figure out some way to post it for you, but that might take a while. I'm somewhat busy. :(

My atomics bother me because I'd like to do them both hippy, I think it looks sloppy if I used different styles for my diffent legs. As for the second smear I haven't been haveing any trouble with it shooting out ahead of me. It tends to bounce off my foot, meaning I need to cushion it more. I was having much more trouble today, and yesterday, because of my sucky flipside atomic set. My plan is to drill that for a week and then go back for this combo.

I think that was everything I wanted to say. Peace out.

Word.

One thing I suggest is to school an atomic set clipper, if that makes sense. It's really just a toe set butterfly, but dex the bag as though it were an atomic set.
Also, Taps are good.

If you really want to get funny, try this. it is fun

tap > fairy same mirage (rpt)

Good luck

Sorry I haven't posted in a while.

I didn't get to kick much these last couple days, but I did go to the motor city comic con and meet Adam West. Meh.

Today I was in a kicking circle and was just goofing off with wierd single tricks. The highlight, for me, was a Heel Osis Walk Over. I thought it looked really cool, and I was supprised that I could actually ballance on the tip of my toe. I might try working on adding some variations to my standard trick bag. I also did alot of variations with stepovers on all suffaces of my foot and hopovers/eclipses with my insides. I almost had a kick set spinning head stall.

I'll be back to my drilling tommorow. I've got some ideas that i want to work on, including some simple 10 contact pixie strings that I plan on using to both drill my strong side and work on string length. I also want to get XBD Pincher > Pincher ATW [RPT] down. That would be a cool all pincher drill to work on with decient tricks.

I also need to drill atomic bettter, expecially with my flip side. I really would like to be able to toss back to back Atom Smashers mid string, and wouldn't mind a different set for my toe shuffle runs.

26 PLO's
4 Dragon-osis
2 XBD Pincher

I wonder if I have a world record for XBD Pincher's: I've never heard of anyone else using them, much less linking them, and it isn't in Lon's record list... hehehe. Hopefully tommorow will be better.

I'm also considering building onto my heel so that I can add stuff like that heel walkover into my stings on a regular basis. It's so hard to stall there consistantly as is on my Lavers.
