I'm sure this tape will look super fly on black Lavers. It looks like the colors would match really well.
New mod!?
Pretty good mod, especially if you plan on modding other shoes that might need something like a clipper rail. My only question is, how long it will last during rigorous play? Other than that, decent work Nelson.

I have to change the strips once a week, basically, but then again, i wear them to school and play football, soccer, etc. in them. I'm sure somebody only walking/shredding in them wouldnt need to change the tape so often, and maybe somebody could find the same product with better adhesive.
But it isnt a problem because it's cheap, comes in long strips, and you only use a little each time you mod it, unless you cover the whole shoe with it.

yeah, definately a good idea. I think i'll try that myself.
and how long it stays depends on where it is on the shoe. On the inside 9where I put the 3 strips) or directly opposite on the 0outside stays on for about a week, but on a curve its more like 3 days.
but yeah, just put some hot glue or something on the back. crazy glue works fine too.

Man, I really like this idea. It's especially good for people who dont have lavers seeing how it stops the abg good. I may give it a try but I cant see myself doing it anytime soon. I will definately recomend it to non-laver players. Also, whats the tapee called and can u get it at a local skate shop?

So, basically this mod allows you to have cruddy clippers but still catch?
Lavers in no way need a clipper rail... just hit clipper properly... I suppose it could be handy for people without proper shred shoes, or people with legitamately bad ankles though.
I would definately be less impressed if I saw you busting with grip tape on your shoes.

no, not a skate shop. Skating griptape is rough and will tear up the bag. this is made by 3m and is used to put on steps. I'll try to remember where I got it, and go ask what the model number is so I can find it on the website.
Oh, and also, why do you say non-laver players? Although it will work with anything, I originally designed it for leather rod lavers.

The matter of concern here is, leather Lavers can be modded well in the league like mesh Lavers, and have a performance some say that tops mesh. Plus, people can play well and improve on their clippers without this mod ever implemented. The idea of having this mod as a sort of "clipper rail" is pretty shunned upon when it is quite possible that your clippers need some work. The design of the Rod Laver shoe isn't faulty on the insides.
And when I saw the pics at first, I wondered "why didn't he cut off the leather on his Lavers?" but digressed at the possibility that you wanted a comfortable look to your Lavers (not the modded look).
Anyway, it's still a good idea.

I can stick clippers without this, and I know that lavers are flat enough not to need a clipper rail. It is not supposed to be a clipper rail, just a better surface for footbag so you dont have to cut off your leather.I didnt cut off the leather because this mod was designed to show an alternative to that, and I wont cut the leather off untill I get another pair.
and the reason for me designing it the way I did was because thats where I needed it the most, as I am going to be trying osises. I dont have the picture because iPhoto couldn't read the code, but I have some on the outside too, and now I have some on the toe. I've said before it can go anywhere. I know leather lavers can be modded in the league of mesh, but this is an alternative to cutting them up.
I dont know why you'd be more unimpressed with someone with my mod done to their shoes landing tricks than somebody who has cut up their shoes so much that they definately have a bigger advantage. It's not like some sort of glue, its just a precaution to stop the bag from sliding, as is removing the leather.

I don't see how the addition of some tape to the sides of your shoes in order to stick clippers is any less moral than cutting a box out of the leather to make a pocket for the bag, modding is modding is modding. If you're going to fuck with your shoes in the tiniest way, it's not much different from cutting the hell out of them.
