I know, I know, John you are a big f'n pussy. I can't help it, puppies make me melt <3 I like dogs more for numerous reasons -
not allergic to them
play ball
play frisbee
care enough about owner to defend him/her
highly moldable like a child would be
more rewarding because the time and effort it takes to train a dog
doggy paddling is fun
great exercise buddy
how excited they get when you come home from whereever.
and i'm biased to them since I grew up with a golden retriever.
i just got a puppy around valentines day, and now hes big and smart enough to play ball and frisbee. he rocks. cept' he shits onthe porch and spills his water when he drinks.
and hes dumb. thats a big plus.
i like dogs better cause cats are so tempernmental. they like you one minute, then run away the next. fuck that. i want a dog that will sit there and get petted till im done, then want more.
haha, I like cats way better. Dogs are just too dependent on their owners, for the most part. Cats are like me, independent and chill Dogs that are trained don't listen sometimes and that's just annoying. Plus, they can get real loud if they get scared or sense things, which I will say is a positive quality in dogs. Protection. But I might be bias since I think a dogs bark is quite possibly the most annoying sound on the planet.
"I contend we are both atheists, I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
I think cats are much more relaxing and loving. A dog will play with anybody, but a cat is specific about their owner. One of my 3 cats will scratch anybody but me, but she loves me sooo much
I had a dog for a short period of time, but he was small and old, so he didnt do much frisbeeing. we just used to go on long walks. all in all, I like nthem equally, but cats are funnier and more lovingy-er
I have a small little yorkie, he is wicked cute. My cat is actually bigger than him. As I like them both, I seem to love my cat more because I can sleep with her every night.
Cats are one of the main causes of the something like a third of all bird extinctions in Australia and also the extinction of many small native rodants. It is clear that they are an enviromental menace to this country and I fully support removing all cats from Australia. (or even better - putting down the ones that are hear and banning their importation).
Dogs are slightly better because they aren't as good hunters as cats but I'm not a fan either. I prefer native animals.
On the whole I'd say that I prefer cats. I don't like having to... do things. Much less for other sentient beings. Cats kick it and give me unconditional love or unconditional hatred. The hatred may not be grounded, but it at least forces me to think about my actions which is always for the best.
However, regarding the whole matter of keeping pets, I think it's a pretty disgusting practice.
keeping pets isnt disgusting, but the pet industry is. Puppy farms pet shops etc. If you want a pet adopt one of the many that need homes from an animal shelter instead of supporting pet stores. And dont let them have free run outside so they can hunt and kill wildlife for fun.
having pets is fine, if your responcible.
