I don't hate you because you're poor, I just wish you'd get your shit together so we could session more often.

Kicked at Alki today with Scott, this dude Jason that Justin picked up on the way who was a hacky sacker who was very, very interested in getting good, and with Justin -- but Justin didn't really play.

Didn't hit anything huge. Had a few good and long busts. Soon, soon the solo sessions will come fast and frequent!

I haven't seen you kick in almost a year Sam, but I'm sure you're style is probably much improved since then. You never really had that bad of a style before though. Just bread and butter shit.

Get some footy out nookah's.

I do have my stuff together, i'm just still poor. Like I always say dude, it isn't easy for me to go down there all the time. Maybe you guys could throw me a bone and come down here some times. I mean Ricky does live like.... 2 or so miles from here i'm pretty sure.

Anyways, on to other stuff.

My evening was pretty bad last night. I would go on and rant, but knowing my computer, it'll shut off when i'm done with it. All i'll say is people are fuckin' rude. Thats probably why i'm in a shit mood right now. That and i'm sun burnt.

Understandable. I slept on it, and its all good. I get like this usually when summer comes up. I'm just excited for everything i'm doing this summer, both shredwise and other.

I just remembered that I got both Chrono Trigger AND Castlevania: Symphony of the Night( ) from a friend of mine. That makes me incredibly happy. Now I have something to do at night when i'm not doing anything and can't shred. :P

I have more to say, but it will come later.

No kidding!

What's your status regarding Folklife, James? Are you able to make it out here and all? We're still trying to work out the crash space, but it's... likely... that everything will work out well.

my status is that I need money to get there on the bus or I need to tag along with someone else coming through. Also, there would be no way I would go if I didn't have confirmed crash space.

Gonna pull something from the old times and have a night session at the local grocery store. Possibly Albertsons, or QFC. Still not sure.

Sam. How the heck can I get to the Street Fair? I remember I got there last year by bus, but I don't remember which bus it was. Hit me back here or pm or call me.

Well, it's on University and 45th, basically. Check http://transit.metrokc.gov/ and see what you can come up with. Best way is to go to the Trip Planner and enter both the starting and ending address/streets. That should help you out.

Jeremy -

Since Justin doesn't read this blog, I would try getting ahold of him directly. He's probably the one in the club most likely to make it down there. If you need contact info, PM me.

Yesterday Rain City Shred learned to busk.

Justin, Danny, Scott, and myself went the UW Street Fair with the intention of shredding a bit with the old donations hat out but instead we happened upon the bombest turf imaginable and got some huge crowds. We had three sets where we would do a rotation of the four of us shredding and then when a crowd showed up we would grab their attention and do a demonstration of some big tricks or some type of competition (we switched it up between rippin, shred30, and sick3). We started off pretty weakly, but after our first set a street performer walked up and was like, "How long have you guys been doing this? This is your first time? Well, let me give you some pointers..." This guy broke down the very basics of keeping the crowd's attention. Using these newfound skills, the crew of RCS ventured boldly forth into the second and third sets. It felt like we did great, but after watching the footage we caught of it there's definitely room for improvement. Justin, Scott, and I came up with a lot of ways to improve our show, so hopefully by next festival we'll have something a little more ironed out.

Justin went off! He footed nemesis twice when we were doing big tricks for the crowd (the crowd loved the name nemesis ). He had a lot of siiick runs. Super long, super dense. Justin as well is really starting to like his style, too.

Scott was looking great. I think him and I were in the same boat in terms of our shred today. He had all of his basic stuff, nothing big, but what counted was that he was in control and super consistent with it. The crowds LOVED Scott's game.

Danny looked awesome. My teachings are sinking in, muhaha. His BOP looked the solidest I've ever seen just from the one session he's had of schooling it. After a couple weeks of that? I am pumped, to say the least. :)

This fair really helped me be confident about my game. I didn't hit anything crazy this session, it was pretty much all of my bread and butter... which were the bomb. I had a blast watching my game afterwards. I have a very nice and solid foundation to expand upon. I definitely have an odd style, but I like it. I'm also confident about my rippin' run skills - Justin has been throwing down lately at competitions, taking a lot of very high rippin' places, and of the... four or five rippins we did(?) I beat him twice. :) LONG rippins, too. Kimi showed up briefly and said I played like Felix!! What a complimen! Miles has said so, too. I think I have a little Felix in me, but by and large I don't think I play too much like Felix. I don't care much either way, at any rate. I am me. :)

Edit: The other thing I forgot to mention is that RCS is going to be suuuper strong this summer! :D Matt Baker, Jamie Scheffler and her boyfriend are all moving either into Seattle or near Seattle this summer. Matt is moving up Tuesday and he was saying that he has interest in getting back into kicking regularly. It's funny, because I always thought Matt had very little to no interest in kicking regularly. No complaints, though. I'm about to see how much I can improve my three-ball from him. And DANNY's going to be coming into town aaalll the time, I'm sure. ;)

Peace,
