"Good work, that's all American currency. Now that you know what it is, why don't you go out and MAKE some of it?"

Bum: Grimace :(

Next bum:

"Can you help me out?"

"Sure! There's a newspaper over there, they have tons of jobs that pay way more than the change you're scrounging for."

Next:

"Sir, can you help me get something to eat?"

"Dude, you're 45 years old!! It's time to grow up, and why would you call me sir if you're like middle-aged and I'm obviously not. Shouldn't I be calling you that?"

That's the key to winning the power struggle with these guys though. Otherwisethey steal a bit of energy. The other way is to just ignore them, but I find this way to be more entertaining, and you get to steal a bit of THEIR energy.
Sadistic, sarcastic. If you take such pleasure in insulting people who aren't doing anything harmful to you, you are probably the one who needs to grow up, Shredzilla.

The government needs to spend more on these programs, because then a widespread solution to the problem could then be achieved. Just imagine if only a tenth of the money that goes to "corporate welfare" was spent on sorting out the homeless issue. If that happened there probably wouldn't be any homeless problem at all.

I have a story.

My mom and I were in Nashville last summer, and we were sitting outside of a resturaunt and this lady come up to us (not really a beggar, but she asked for money) and told us that here and her baby were on there way to somewhere and that there car broke down on the road a few mile back (i dont know on the interstate or somthing), but there was no baby with her. Uhh, where did she leave the baby, in the car, on the road, in tennessee, in the midle of summer. I dont really know, but anyways my mom gave her 20 bucks, I didnt care ,its my moms money. But the point of this story is that some people really need it and some dont, you cant really tell all the time.

I dont see many beggars where I live in Kentucky, but I've seen a couple who stand on the side of the road hold those will work for food signs. In Kentucky we have alot of farmers, so when I see them I think why dont they go help cut tobacco or haul hay (beleive me that jobs a bitch) but the money is good for a few hours of work, and you dont have to have resumes or anything like that.

But how many of the bums would actually take the offer? The ones who really need the money, thats how you can tell, ask them if they want to work to earn their money.
