It's hard seeing people only once a year. Especially when I don't talk with them on a regular basis. Thinking about them, I realize that who they are as far as I know them might be more made up than real with all of the other things that happen in my head. It's scary thinking that the people I care about the most are more like a vague memory than an active part of my daily life... That's the sad part of this blog post.
Then I realize that no one changes so much from month to month between times that I talk with them, and that since I'm still here for them, they're probably still there for me if I want them to be. And I'll always get to see them again, and refresh the memories and it'll be even more fun than the last time I saw them. (Then I talk with them and everything is the same, and wonder why I was over thinking things so much.)
I'm tired but going to post anyway.
I just got home from a wonderful day. I slept well last night, then this morning I got picked up by Jeremy Ted Anderson, and his friend Jake so we could all drive together to the last day of The Green Cup in Golden Gate Park. The drive was nice, as usual. I feel that net is more spectator friendly than freestyle. Maybe not routines, but 30 sec. shred for sure. --Assuming that the spectators don't play freestyle. A bunch of people were there to watch but didn't play any kind of footbag. Since Ahren and I were sitting next to each other, I felt bad for the people watching the match from the other side of the court because the reflection off of our white skin must have been distracting if not blinding. Manu won singles and doubles with Patti. For more results, you can look on

Freestyle:
Carol and I were happy to play with each other again.

:D She was my first female hero in footbag, and I'm still enamored. I know it's lame to feel so happy when she gives me props for something in a circle. But I still feel it.

I always forget
how smooth her style is. Everything looks like it's done with such ease. To sum it up, she's awesome and you already knew that.
Ahren only played for a while, so I was happy to be in that circle. I'm not going to talk about how much I like to see him play, but only because I know that I've done that a ton of times already. He's one of those players I like to see warm up, even that is fun to watch. After a bit, our timing was off. I was sitting down to stretch just as he was walking back into the circle. Then he left just as I was going to join again. Either way, I got to play with him again.
There were a few guys that kick at Stanford who I hadn't met before: Eric Chan
g and Abraham something. So I got to play with them, Ted, Dat, and Jeremy at different points. I had one or two strings that I was pretty happy with, but I don't remember anything being really noteworthy.
(End of the Freestyle gibber-jabber in this post)
At one point, I realized that I didn't have my 32 multicolored Abshire (the "Freestyle Reality" bag) anymore. I looked around and asked the few people who might have it, and they hadn't seen it for a while. I was a little frustrated with myself, but not really upset yet because I figured that should wait until the event was over and everything was cleaned up. A long while later, I saw a little girl playing with it so I walked over and snatched it, then kicked her in the shin and walked away. I got some nice time in the sun without burning, I think.
Hey, it's Joe Crain. He and Liza walked over from his Birthday party in the park. What good timing, the one day that the Green Cup is at G.G. Park.

They hung out and talked for a while, and met us later at the restaurant. Bonus points. The Player's Party was at a Tommy's Mexican restaurant. It was really nice seeing net people outside of net. They proved to be an effervescent group of people. It was nice talking with some of the people I've only met once before or today for the first time, and it was really nice having a place to gather with people I already know. Plus I like good food and lots of margaritas. It was so, so fun.
Jeremy and I were talking with some net players trying to get them to come out to our jam to play some net and hang out with us all. This is going to be my favorite footbag event ever. Seriously.
For a while I've usually been in favor of using some emoticons in posts... but not doing it leaves more room for error in interpreting what I say, so it spices it up more for the reader if I don't use them. I like this idea.
It's all about you.
