hey zeroman, i advise you to use upholstery thread, ive just started usin it, and my sitching is much better now, also the secret to keeping bags round is probably even gather and good sitching...

yeah, regular thread isnt so good for bags... it breaks easier.

i use dental floss (equate, cause its thick) cause its super cheap.

and it melts together (once you get the technique down) so your knots wont come untied.

i suppose waxed sinew and upholstry thread are just as good. but i havent used those.

upholstery thread gives better control over gather than dental floss - try 3 stitches (w/ upholstery thread) and a relatively tight gather zeroman, see how that works for you. Also, don't stitch too close to the edges of your panels or the panels can pull out from the stitches causing those "flaps" that are showing on parts of your bags.

i know my walmart sells it (upholstry thread) in the craft section, and it comes in dif colors too. not that it makes a difference...

i just can't see how to gather tightly without having the hexes looking really wrinkled. i frickin wanna make the panels puff out so bad. please help me!

i don't own a golfball but i put it in the middle of a baseball and a ping-pong ball. hope this helps.

Just stitch consistently and uniformly on your pents and hexes. Keep them even, and gather well.

i think gathering too the fullest isnt that good, leave some space... but i second the even and constistent stiches thing

I'm only into private stitching and have no dresire to sell openly. I'm super open for trades, but until I get some tester bags stitched and sent to some of my east coast shred buddies, I'll get a good price down.

Depends. I use the pattern maker from the sticky topic above this board. It's good to find a pattern and stencil that fits you, so experiment away.

Im gonna post the third pink pent, green hex bag in the past two pages. Oh well,

The pink/green is going to gdawg. The blue, light violet, and the gray is a keeper. Its hard to see but the stitching and gathering is real nice. Sitting on Minus the Bear- Menos el Oso. Good CD.

My first four. Its filled with sand just because i didnt have any sand bags. I dont think it came out bad.
