Anyone into Christian Rock?

I like (not in order): kutless, blindside, TFK, benjamin gate (no longer playing I think), skillet and supertones for some of the bigger names.

Always wanted to go to this music festival thats held every year in my state called Soulfest. Maybe this summer. Its like 5 days long with 100 bands and stuff. There's lots more festivals like this held all over.

I like some Christian industrial and metal bands.
Chatterbox is really good, I used a track of theirs in Voyage of the Dawn Shredder 2 (Sam Colclough's section), "Sunshine". I also really like Circle of Dust/Angel Dust (Klay Scott) -- he's done a million projects and he is really amazing.

"Angeldust" is basically him performing live industrial music and "magic" tricks -- he compares himself to that one magician guy, let me quote from his description in a Circle of Dust album, "Imagine for a moment, the energy of a live band playing music that ranges from heavy electronica to ethereal interludes melding with Criss doing illusions more akin to the special effects of the Terminator than the cheesy, "I wish I was cool" performances of David Copperfield." -- though from the songs I heard of Angeldust, and his new title, he;s strayed from his "Christian" roots on this project...

I like this band called Embodyment -- amazing throating!! Really good stuff -- they hang out with some bands with really strange names like, Dying Fetus, Tendril, Devourment, Internal Bleeding, Kill Ratio, Scattered Remnants...(all Christian bands)...and also POD and Zao, which are pretty well-known.

I also used to listen to Project 86, which is basically Rage Against the Machine, but with Christian lyrics, and...oh yeah, Officer Down, which is a Winnipeg-based hardcore band...the drummer, a friend of my brother's, used to drum for some other popular Christian rock band...

Oh, and the page on Embodyment reminded me of Extol -- a really good Christian Norwegian metal band. Mmmm.

EDIT 2: I dug up all these old CDs and it's so great!! I captured a couple songs because I just have to share these. I realize they aren't rock, and you may not like them, but you should listen anyway :p They actually categorized Chatterbox as pop/rock, which I find really silly, because I feel they are more industrial/metal.

I think Terminal is Christian, kind of emo, but I like them.

i saw skillet. went to Soul Fest 05, it was actually pretty awesome. it was when i was starting to get really into footbag, and played with a hacky sackers ALL day while going to different concerts. FIF is obviously more ska and doesnt exist anymore, but im a huge FIF fan. i also used to be a massive DC Talk fan.

FIF is my all time favorite, but Emery is my favorite right now.

I also like Relient K, Switchfoot, Thousand Foot Krutch, Pillar, Kutless, Ever Stays Red, Superchick, etc, etc.

aw man, this is my subject.

Demon hunter, Norma Jean, Haste the day, Mortification, Living Sacrifice, Kutless, Skillet, The Showdown, As I lay Dying, Extol, Dead Poetic, Beloved, Metanoia, The Chariot, I better stop now.

I am heavy into these bands, and also into Christian hip hop, but that is a different subject.

Allthough I like all those bands, I have been getting away from most of the ones that have little spiritual content in them, no matter how incredible they may sound. anyone else feel the same way I do, or the opposite?

i feel the opposite.
i think music can be worshipful and completely instrumental at the same time, or just have nothing to do with God mentioned in the lyrics. and even if it isnt worshipful, if i like music, i will listen to it. i know a good amount of christians who refuse to listen to any secular music...i couldnt agree with that idea less.

Yeah, why wouldn't you listen to secular music?! I forgot John Reuben. But he's rap not rock. I'm still searching everywhere for one of his earlier albums my bro used to own.

Leaving out all secular music all together was not my point, I left that one alone. My specific point was dealing with "christian" music. I have been getting more and more into bands that have some of the Holy Scriptures in thier lyrics ..."speaking to yourselves in songs, hymns and spiritual songs". This is one of the many reasons I have been getting more into the bands that do speak about Jesus Christ and his word. Also This is why I love the Cross movement so much as well.

I listen to alot of the Christian hardcore bands. Bands like Signet(like linkin park i think ) Dbeality ( like Christian Black Sabbath ) Post Mortum ( heavy heavy Christian metal ) Decyfer Down ( Audioslave foo fighter kind of deal) Circus Dawn ( Christian Rock like SOAD ) and of corse DEMON HUNTER, they just own all.
