Neck cracking
Neck cracking
Ive been doing it since december and its addicting! just recently I tried to crack it now it hurts when I turn to the left. This happened once but on the opposite side. Hurts like crap.
I suggest anyone who does this to stop.

I've been doing it for 8 or 9 years. I love it. I will never stop. I also crack my back, my fingers, my knees, my ankles and my wrists.
To avoid hurting yourself, always crack BSOS. If you crack 3 vertebrae on tilting your head to the left, make sure you crack 3 vertebrae tilting your head to the right immediately after.

That's just an example, the more you do it, the more you can crack. I once got to a point where I could crack 6 on each side. Now only 3, but if I did it 2 or 3 times a day for a few weeks, I could get back to 6.Vpicone wrote:wow ok great tip lol what happens if u cant though? if u can only get 2 out?

Re: Neck cracking
I have been doing it for years... should stop. My mom got addicted to it to, like me, but a few years back after so many years of it, she had bad injuries that she had to get her back worked on, not life threatening or anything just uber painful, the cracking disfigures your neck spine i think. Also, cracking my knuckles made the middle of them thick.Vpicone wrote:Ive been doing it since december and its addicting! just recently I tried to crack it now it hurts when I turn to the left. cracking is just moving fluid and air pockets around, the danger is you can enlarge some of those pockets and THAT might cause some problems. Oh and sometimes it gets to rubbing joints together and is detrimental to the cartalidge. its good to loosen up sometimes, just remember the excess rule applies to EVERYTHING

just dont apply too much force, and dont have your muscles too tensed while you do it either, my neck started (the back of it) hurting a little because i would do it hands free and use the muscles to move and crack - bad. It should either be a light whiping motion or use your hand and push your chin to side and up.

yeah I always crack my neck hands free I have been for years now. The only problem I have noticed is that once and this is very odd but kills when it happens Ill just turn my head to look left/right not cracking my neck and a pain will jolt through my neck muscle into my head its like a sting and then a burning sensation in my neck it hurts for like 30 seconds then its gone.

I believe that happens to most everyone. If I had to guess, I would think it's just a temporarily pinched nerve.ShredEX wrote:The only problem I have noticed is that once and this is very odd but kills when it happens Ill just turn my head to look left/right not cracking my neck and a pain will jolt through my neck muscle into my head its like a sting and then a burning sensation in my neck it hurts for like 30 seconds then its gone.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.
