Post by smokefree »

Alright, im gonna buy a few footbags instead of one this time, needed some quick info. I already did one of these with the cosmic staller but i thought it would be much more convenient to get all my questions out of the way.

The Dryden - I read a review on this and the man said his broke within 20 minutes of opening, durability, what do you think, any owners of this?

Dirtbag - not the 32 panel.

Sandblaster - wtf?

Dirty Juice Facile - How be it, and how large be it?

Kuddlebag - How does it compare to the sandbag?

Sir Hemp Sand Lord - ?

And the cosmic staller if you've played on it.

Sorry I realize that is a lot of bags, just wondering what and what not to waste money on.

Yeah the only problem is the fabric wears down after 20 hours of shredding.

If that's the case, it is entirely your fault. I've known Daryl since I was 12, and I still have freedoms from back then that are playable.
If yours are getting trashed from less than a day of shredding, you need to take a step back and reevaluate how you treat your bags. If you are just kicking & stalling them, freedoms will last you several years.

The only good footbags in the world, at this point, are professionally handstitched 32-panels, and Mr. Sandbags. Judging by the way you talk, I'm led to believe you're not responsible or skilled or patient enough to own a handstitched 32-panel (comparable to a two-year-old owning his own puppy), so I'm going to go ahead and strongly recommend you get a freedom bag. Experience tells me it will take your game a long way, and it is manufactured remarkably better than any of the ish you posted above. Freedoms are made by an actual professional footbag player, who has devoted his life to footbag, and constantly researching new ways to make his product better.

Everyone tells me this, yet i treat it very very well. I even freak out hen other people do something that could damage a bag, i KNOW how to take care of bags yo, its just i treated the one i bought well and it leaked out in a week, and being a noob at the time i didnt know i could put more sand in. But really though it had almost 2 holes, thats horrible for how well i treated it.

maybe get a facile mr... or ill make you an elite 4 panel... that just means it wont break easily...

sandbags are always gonna leak. no matter how nice you are, or how careful , or any other crap... thats what sandbags do. maybe its time to invest in a better (durable) footbag. mr's are kinda weak to me.

Dude.. It's awesome. The stuff inside it must be magical. I hit my first mirage witht this bag. The stitching is beutiful... The color combo is great. I've heard they have wonderful durability. Seriously man, for eleven bucks (with patching tape [and i think ull be using the patching tape on your other bags]) its a great deal. Not to metion they smell reall good... like candy or something... 8O

Tell me, how do you treat your Mr. Sandbags? Do you toe-scuff them? Do you use your shoes to scrape the bag onto your shoe? Step on them occasionally? Put them into your pockets that might have sharp and/or abrasive objects in them? Wash them at least? Sorry, but I'm just wondering from all of your posts and claims on the longevity for Mr. Sandbags. I have had a lot of experience with Mr. Sandbags, and have only retired one that has lasted me for over a year now. Never once in that long year have I found a hole until a few weeks ago (sand leakage is prominent but understandable).

The Cuddlebaggie is a very good beginner bag and very durable, but the filler inside is questionable for me. For people used to using sand the filler inside can be a bit distracting. However, when using this bag, I believe, the transition to 32s concerning gameplay is not at all different. The only con when transitioning a Cuddlebaggie to a 32 is the rate of durability, in which if you're fond with abusing your Cuddlebaggie and do so on a 32 it will be detrimental on your habits.

Really, though, if you're getting holes on your Mr. Sandbags so quickly, you're not ready for a 32 just yet. Like Stephen said, reevaluate your habits and work on them.

i have to disagree with you on that one. I switched from playin exclusivley sandmaster to the cuddlebaggie and i love it. Ive had no problems transitioning. Did this happen to you personaly? Cause, in my opinion i found nothing negative with the cuddlebagie or the transition from sand to this bag. In all respects, you have to make this transtion at one time or another, why not take it one step at a time and go from a durable sand to a durable bead and then finnaly end up with an ephemeral beaded bag? In my opinion the cuddle baggie is perfect just for this reason. It allows people to transition from sand to beads without changing the pannel #, or the size and feel.

I'm just doing a further analysis with the bag. With people used to sand, the weight of the bag doesn't exceed or even come close to 50g. Cuddlebaggies do. It's just that simple in terms of difference.

And no, I didn't have trouble with my Cuddlebaggie.

Im not retarded dude, when I said I treated it well it basically meant I didn't do that crap you just listed. No offense. I think my problem may have been OTHER people, a few times people would be like let me try your bag, and id come back from doing whatever i was doing a minute later and get it back, i try to keep a sharp eye on my bag now... and in fact i just got a sipa to hack with circle kickers who dont know how to treat bags.
BTW: im giving sandbag attempt number 2, just ordered, and a kuddlebag soon. Ill buy a 32 next month when i have extra money to spend, i dont NEED one just yet if you know what i mean, lavers before 32s

I seriously dont think you should get a 32 yet. It will be such a big transition, especially if your used to the durability of sandbags (which is pretty good in comparison to a 32). Your 32 has to be your baby, and you cant neglect it

Look at the # of posts each of the above advice givers has made and then judge carefully who to believe. Then, look at my # of posts. I stitch bags. Don't get a facile Mr Sandbag. Don't get a 32, especially if you're worried about the bag lasting a long time. Get a Mr. Sangbag, made from Crushed Panne, just like Stephen Barnes said.

Dude, I'm not ragging on you. I didn't even make fun of you. I simply think that if you dont have enough experience with footbag, then you aren't qualified to give footbag advice and you shouldn't be advising inexperienced players on how to spend their hard earned money. Facile Mr.s, for example, suck (IMO) as compared to crushed panne ones, yet it was recommended. I don't think I really need to defend my position because Im coming from a position of experience. You can't go wring with an * dollar bag-even if it only lasted a month, it would still be worth it. But chances are, it'll last abour 3-4 months. For 8 bucks . . . thats like 15 cents per session.

I don't hate newbs or anything, but please don't give advise if you aren't qualified. or at least state the fact that you aren't so the person knows you aren't in a position of extreme knowledge.

Biggity-bam!!! I've been reading a lot recently of newbs giving other newbs advice like their word is the be-all-end-all of anything! I mean, in the end, NOBODY'S word is solid gold and it seems the best way to find anything out in footbag is to DO IT YOURSELF. I mean, there's definitely things that work best if you have somebody telling you what to do (trick tips etc.) but stuff like what insoles to use, what bags to use, etc. etc. that's all personal preference!!! Straight up, the crushed panne Sandbags are effing key. People say that they're just for beginners, but they're seriously all around awesome to shred, and anybody who tells you they're mega fragile is full of crap. I have 3 sandbags, all in different stages of life, and they all shred awesomely, as well as all being in pretty much perfect condition. Basically it's the only bag I can generally recommend to EVERYBODY. The cuddlebags are also really wicked too, but I haven't really shredded one yet. I just had one in my hand for a few minutes.

Anyway the point is: Watch out who's giving you advice!!! Although everybody may have the best of intentions, the advice they give may not always be the best.

But don't equate knowledge and experience with # number of posts. Posting here doesn't make you any better at kicking (though it can indicate who's been around for a while). I believe Ales Zelinka has, like, 5 posts on modified. Damn newbie!
