Final Art Project

I have to a final art project and I have NO idea what to do...

Any suggestions?

It has to be paint, drawing, sculpting, or . . . I think that's it, but if you have other idea's let me know so I can check with my teacher.

stitching? or is that too home ec.... Maybe you could do a clay representation of a footbag. It wouldnt be that hard...

draw or paint your shoes w/ your fav footbag.

itll be so awesome, and you can put it on your wall...

plus its cooler and more attractive than sculpture (to me anyways)

im an art major. drawing is my fav, but i hate doing it. college courses usually make you spend 12-24 hours on one 20x20 drawing. the whole thing would have pencil covering it.

PS I wanted to sharpie mod my new shoes, but the teacher wouldn't let me.

I always think making sculptures out of weird stuff is cool - even better if it looks like something. Like building a doll house and everything out of old computer and electronioc parts or melting and bending plastic spoons to shape a human, car, or plane. Hope you get the idea.

I did a neat footbag triptych as a project in my painting major class. My favourite of the three (conceptually anyway) was a collage-style painting where I had a main image of a realistic Andrew Grant (painted, obviously) on one side, and a sketchy doodley image of a circle kicker on the other, and the painting was kind of split up into two sections like that, where one was really serious sport-like and the other really mainstream kicky-ball. I did a lot of writing in different writing styles, like history of the sport and things like that, I had a injured players roster (when I started the list in the health forum) and some anatomical diagrams describing my injury -- this was on the more serious sport side, showing some intricacies of the sport and that it is more than just smoking and kicking (the stick figure figure was drinking and smoking at the same time).... it was really fun.

Another was just a picture of Derek, really stylistically, on top of 6 flags representing some of the most prominant countries in the sport. I forget what the third was... something to do with actual bags I think, oh yeah -- for the collage I also had stitching patterns and diagrams and instructions, etc -- that was neat. It was like a visual guide to the sport. You could add shoe mods and everything too. That was the funnest. It was really big and I glued newspaper to it and spattered paint and everything. Of course it all had meaning, which made it even more fun.

So, after trying many many suggestions and getting shot down for all of them, I am doing a MASSIVE drawing of my lavers and a footbag. It's really big and going to take a long time. But it should be fun.
