to keep footbag small would be to keep this amazing sport hidden which should never happen. look when i was little i never played sports or did anything. i was just a fat loser. but now i live for sports i'm some what built and still a little fat. and yes there are a lot of lazy people in the world i used to be one but now this is my life.
you can change a persons life for the better. all of this talk about easier said then done, and keep footbag small sounds like laziness. your making excuses for not doing it. every post in some way has agreed w/ me.

yes it takes a certain person to play footbag but that person may not even no about footbag theres alot of people who do not no. and these people are made for footbag, who nos they may be the next vasek. and we just do not no about them. and they don't no about us. just get the word out please. it is hard and so is footbag. yet you still love it. you may love getting people into to. it may bring some satasfaction to your mind noing that you are doing something amazing. i no that ben must be very satasfided. because he has gotten many people into footbag. created them. and shredes w/ them. theres threads asking for ppl in a certain area to shred w/. and they may never find somebody. and lose interest. and that is the worse thing ever. so no there are not enough shredder.

sorry for all the touchy felly stuff. but please take this seriously. you may bring something great into someones life who really needs it. to those of you who have failed that was one person ben kept on trying. and hes gotten many more poeple into footbag. and still does. listen to him he has done it many time. and it works many times.

later. :)

Like skating, eh? If footbag would go big it ended up being just a new way of making money. The friendly attitude and community would be crushed.

I agreed with Hood's statement about it being easier said than done because we've both done it, and we're still doing it. We do what ever is in our means to spread the word and promote the sport of footbag while balancing out the other aspects of our lives (jobs, family, and school to name a few).

I just wanted to clarify that the quote wasn't born out of laziness. It's more of a realistic view of things after having done this for a while.

yes but THIS IS LIFE, many people make sacrafices to play well im not asking 4 that. just in your community. just do what you can and no maybe its not so much laziness but it is excuses. i go to school everyday and i devote my self to get some one new to play.

there are so many circle kickers at our school and ben and i try to get them to become shredders all the time. i think alot of people do have a footbag. but they dont ever even think about seriously getting into footbag.
every time i shred i always get compliments. and i let them no they can play to and they start doing delays. and start trying. look, ben got me into footbag, and i want to get alot more people into it. it only takes one then they will get more, and theyll get more, and them to. JUST TRY A LITTLE MORE PLEASE.

later, steven

:D Believe me, Ive tried as hard as I could for as long as I've could... but I don't suspect that's aimed specifically at me :D

Gonna play in a couple of hours actually... I'll try to recruit more 4S players

GET OTHERS INTO FOOTBAG.

Some very innovative people have adapted 4 square into an endlessly fun footbag game. Theres a lonely little subforum near the bottom if you want to checkout the rules. I've found that it's easier to convert a hacker to a 4S player than into a freestyler. If it wasn't for squares I probably wouldn't be playing much footbag anymore. I can't thank Lon Smith and Joe Crain enough for it.

There are still heaps of friendly skating communities, the differance is there are more than one, footbag just has one.

Why shoulden't we be able to make money off something we are passionate about and spend so much time doing, Anssi?

I definitely want to see footbag get better. I don't believe the "friendly attitude and community" would be "crushed" at all. If footbag became 4 times bigger than it is now that would mean I would have 4 guiltless players to play with on a regular basis. I am all for that. The "friendly attitude and community" is something I only really get to experience a few times a year. I mean modified isn't really a footbag community - it's an internet community. Most of the people on this forum I have never played footbag with. No offence to you guys, but I would much rather have people to play with, than people to talk about footbag with on the internet. I don't really care about making money out of footbag that much - although being able to do something you love and getting paid for it is awesome. My motivation for wanting to see footbag get bigger is primarily because I want to have regular guiltless people to play with. Not that I don't not enjoy playing with newbies - but playing with people of around your own level is the best part of footbag that I've experienced because they challenge you and you can relate to what they're hitting and learn from them - you can feed off each other much better and have a lot more fun.

I guess if footbag became a great deal bigger many players would lose the international community of the sport - especially those players who start playing after it gets big. That's a shame but I don't think they'd notice and I think having lots of local players would be better anyway.

Stitching and giving away bags is always a good idea :)
I've been kicking for 3 months now and i've got one person into the sport. Also about 4 might start playing and 3 of them are girls :D they really seem to like kicking it and then train toe delay's sometimes. We are going to make a club here in Estonia :)

And when i get better im definitely going to give footbag presentations in school's.

I truely don't want footbag to grow that much larger then it is right now! How would you like it if you just can't call up those players like Vasik and Jim Penske? That would really suck! I don't want those really good footbag players become a huge star and only shred with people like them
