Roommate needed as of June 19th.

Post by qphox »

Brother's moving out.

Come live with Stylie Byrin Wylie and I.

Please?

Edmonton has more jobs than people...though moving from the USA might be difficult. In fact, I *know* it's difficult.

You know, you're only 1,423 miles [practically] due north of me. I think we can make this work.

We *had* a roommate lined up until about a week ago when something came up. Unfortunately that's not going to happen anymore, and that's why i've just thrown this out there.

James, why haven't you applied for your Visa yet?

Literally every store is hiring.

I think one day I will go into like...every store in the mall and see how many would be willing to hire me. Most likely 75% of them.

"the mall" is West Edmonton Mall, btw.

Wow, is that that mall that is like 50 square miles and has like an amusement park, a roller skating rink, a golf course and like a ton of other stuff no one could ever do in a year's time??

I always had this fantasy of like going there and secretly living there under the noses of those who owned/worked there. Like it's such a HUGE place that you could pretend to be a tourist during the day and then hide out and eat food there at night, and like play all the video games and ride bumper cars. One can only dream... 8)

If you are interested in working in Canada, check out the official government website,

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.html

From what I've read it sounds like you'de need to:

1) Come visit us in Canada with a passport (i.e. come to shredmonton 06!)
2) Look for a job (lots of jobs available in edmonton)
3) Receive a job offer
4) Apply for a work permit (temporary)
5) If you like it here then you can apply for dual citizenship and live here permanently

hmmm. I want to come live with you guys. I would just need to get myself out of a little debt here in the states. That would be a while. :?

By the way, how would you get a job offer when I couldn't even fill out an application and be only visiting for lets say 3 days? Just walk into a business and be like "I'm from the US, hire me right now so I can move here" ?

james you just need to become a hermit for a while. pinch every penny, eat rice and peanut butter stolen from dennys and live in your car. then you'll be debt free in no time.

plus, it says you need "proof of funds" before entering the country. Which means I need to save of some scrilla beforehand as well. The damn work visa application fee is $150 ...

Pretty much no way I could get there soon

hey k-reg, you never posted how much rent is, or utilities etc.

james, is that $150 usd or $150 cad? and same thing with the proof of funds, if it's CAD it's only $1354, not $1500.

Rent: $425.00, utilities and bills and such come out to about 75-125 dollars a month depending on the time of year.
