hello.

here i am. back from podersdorf.
i'm still really tired from this event. it was so frigin' cold and everything. actually i'm surprised that i'm still alive.
however it was fun.
competition didn't go well, but i really had fun shredding on monday and hit some very nice runs. i think i'm now motivated to push myself and my game harder again.

practised our show with alex and it went quite well.
also, to my surprise my legs were feeling strong. my body isn't though. i feel like i could fall asleep every second.

i'm too lazy to write a report about podersdorf right now. hopefully later.

today i hit one new sick 3.
pixie ss whirl>torque>pdx blender
wanted to do a ps whirl instead of pdx blender, but was too tired.

saturday in the morning i'm going to podersdorf again.
i'm really looking forward for that.

some new combos:

spinning legover > drifter > drifter rpt.
blurry whirl > spinning osis > barfly
sumo > atomsmasher BSOS

just uploaded first 3 open mens finals from podersdorf. look in this thread for more info.

Hi everybody. Long time ago since i posted the last time on modified...
VERENA&ALEX  SICK combos - no comment

I had some very good sessions the last days and weeks and i feel like my game is really improving at the moment. What I really like, is that I'm gaining string-length and control.
But also the sets become more comfortable :D :D :D

So, here are a few new tricks and combos I hit:

atomic ducking butterfly
atomic diving butterfly
atomic torque
pixie ss drifter
pixie op drifter

combos:
torque - drifter - torque
DATW - pixie butterfly
 i don't remember any more

wow. haven't posted in here for over a month. 8O

i'm back from lausanne.
thanks a lot to the pieds à gilles! it was an awesome tournament and i had a really good time.
i'm pretty tired. lol. the last 6 (!) days were hardcore (doing sports and huge lack of sleep).

i'm too lazy right now, so i'll just write something about the event from my point of view.

for me the most disappointing thing was how the competition went. i really don't care what place i make if i play well. unfortunately i messed up both my routines (i never wanna see them). most of the times, when playing on stage, my legs feel like stones and i can't hit anything. i know it's a psychological thing. like a block in my mind.
also, i completely fucked up my shred30 which also hurts since i think it's the event i could really be good at.

i think i just wanted to show people that i improved over the last year, but my routines and my shred30 were a lot (!) worse than last year.

i hope this doesn't sound too negative since i'm actually in a very good mood. when competition goes badly i always have the need to shred well in the circles and i really managed to do this. i shredded on four days and i wasn't playing like super awesome, but i still had some very good runs. it was the first time in my life that i felt comfortable playing with really good players. i think my runs got a lot harder since last year (i can hit links like pixie whirl>pdx whirl>ps whirl midstring now or i hit one run starting with smear>fear>fairy whirl>pdx whirl>pdx whirl>torque>pdx whirl). still haven't hit that stupid flip ps whirl though that rolled off my foot for ten times now. hope that soon ps whirl>ps whirl will be mine.
i'm really motivated to play a lot of footbag now. i really loved to shred with other people again.

i hope my next shred session will be on wednesday. not too sure about it though. twisted my ankle on sunday (not bad, but still swollen) and also the rest of my body hurts.

...to be continued (with more stuff about the event than just about me)...

footbag-vienna-report:

wednesday and thursday:

alex, ali and i started our journey on wednesday evening. we went by train from vienna to zürich which took 9 hours. 9 hours in a train is pretty boring, so we brought some beer and some starburst-footbags with us. since ali and alex are footbag-golf-addicts, i couldn't help myself, but soon was playing footbag-golf right in the train. we had some cool golf-holes like a young man listening to music and looking out of the window. 8)
in the end ali won, followed very closely by alex.

at 6 in the morning and not a lot of hours of sleep (alex and i had those 29€ tickets, while ali, the snob (), had a couchette-ticket) we arrived in zurich at 6 in the morning.
unfortunately the weather wasn't very nice. it was frigin' cold and rainy.
since i've just been to zürich two weeks ago (i was a judge at the swiss championships) i first didn't want to go sightseeing again, but then i changed my mind and alex, ali and i started our sightseeing tour. we went to see the hospital, the university and climbed up a hill. also, we got invited to a party (which is in three days).

at like twelve o'clock (maybe i'm wrong) alex and i took the train to lausanne. the ticket was insanely expensive. 45€ one direction!!
we arrived in lausanne and it was still very early, so we decided to go and see lausanne. what a beautiful city!!

after our sightseeing tour we went to the main event side. it was a very nice location!! next to the huge lake from where you could see the french city evian and the mountains behind it. awesome!
after saying hi to all the footbaggers i hadn't seen in a while, i got friends with reto and luisa and went to drink a coffee with them, since it was getting colder and colder. when we came back, there was already dinner waiting for us.
by the way: the food was awesome!! only vegetarian food! this year i didn't have to eat bread with butter and jam twice a day like at euros last year in poland. :D

soon it started to rain and i was really lucky to catch a ride with luisa and reto to the bunker which turned out to be 40 minutes by walk away.
to be honest, i didn't like the bunker, since it was too far away and also the air in there was really bad. on friday i woke up with an headache and felt like i would choke any second.
on thursday evening i was really tired and just watched the crazy finns (riku, samu and tuomas) and ners and gielniki shredding. they were hitting some crazy stuff and i was wondering where they got their motivation to shred from. wow. i was very impressed.

friday:

the started way too early for me, because the net players that were supposed to be at the main event side earlier than the freestylers woke the whole section of the bunker up.
i walked to the main event side with yves kreil and was suprised that it took us 40 minutes to get there. we weren't walk slowly or anything and yves has pretty long legs. the weather was nice though and so was our way right by the lake.
however. when we arrived at the event side we got some nice breakfast. at some point, after a long delay, the women's routines started. in the end there were only five women competing. fine, luisa, shirine, tina and i. that made me really sad. i mean, come on, european championships with five female competitors!! damn it...
my routine was really bad. lots of drops and instead of pdx torque in the end i ended up with pixie whirl as the last trick. tina's routine was pretty good. she had five drops though, but still she hit really nice combos and her difficulty was pretty hard. after our routines i shredded with tina. it was really nice!! we just played for like 20 minutes, but it was very intense. i can't remember what i hit, but i hit a really nice run there. i saw tina hitting scorpion's tail.
i would have liked to continue playing, but soon ali found me and told me that it was time to judge. i was a judge for all the open pools.
unfortunately alex didn't advance to semi-finals. he was playing pretty well though, but not good enough to beat flavio, manu and pavel. i was the most impressed by damian g. i loved his routine! i don't care if he can only use on clipper. his routine was one of the best i've ever seen. he shredded dropless for like 20 seconds and then bowed and sayed hello to the crowd. nice!!

...to be continued...

(i'm sorry if this post was very boring and short, but i can't think of something else to write...)

haha. thanks verena, but my routine wasn't so nice. c'mon 7 drops :? Some parts of it worked quiet good but my overall difficulty is way too low for bigger tournaments.

trying to make a short vid although I just have 1 1/2 hours of footage. Will take some time cause I don't see myself in the next few days with freetime :( have to go sleep now, cause work sucks!

oh btw, Lausanne rocked!!!!!!

stuff i hit:
*reverse swirl>ripstein>reverse swirl (hope that i can add another ripstein soon; a few times i was very close to that)
*fairy whirl bsos
*finally flip ps whirl (and it was very nice and controlled)

played quiet a lot lately.

new combo:
paradon -> blur rpt.

2 new records:

25 drifters
16 symp butterflys

this weekend is the donauinselfest, one of the biggest open-air festivals in europe with hundreds of bands (most of them suck). it's totally free and you can drink your own warm beer from the supermarket there of course. We will shred there and represent footbag. looking forward to it. hopefully there will be some other footbaggers from outside of vienna.

unfortunately i haven't played as much as alex lately.
however, there's only one more week of university left! :D

had a session with alex and bernhard today.
was really exhausting! it was so hot!!

i didn't hit anything special, just a few new links or links that i haven't hit in a while:
-fear>ss fear>fear>fairy drifter midstring
-sym. mirage>fear rpt. (not hard, but never tried it before)
-16+ contacts of whirl>pdx whirl rpt.
-fairy torque midstring
-ss fear>ss fear>legbeater>run (also not special)
-ss fear>ss fear>fairy whirl>torque>run (also not special)
-symp. mirage>8 contacts of smear>fear rpt.>fairy whirl>ss butterfly>pdx whirl>pdx whirl>torque>pdx whirl
-reverse swirl>ripstein>reverse swirl>swirl (damn it, missed the second dex for the ripstein)

lol. nothing's really good, but felt like posting something.

also, alex, bernhard and i had our traditional *race* to hit 5 5adds. hit my boring easy 5-adds (porque, forque, pdx torque, ps whirl and pdx blender), but i was the first one.

actually i should be packing my stuff now, because i'm leaving vienna in like 6 hours and i need a bit of sleep as well...
i'm going to denmark by the way. visiting a friend of mine, but i can also hang out with the danish footbag-crew. 8)
this summer is going to be awesome! after denmark, worlds are waiting for me. and after this i'm going to india for a month! :D
yes, india! :D :D because of my very good marks at university and two scholarships i can afford that. :D
(edit: hope that doesn't sound strange...the thing with my good marks...)

after hardly playing last week, i had two sessions this week. i'm old now though. turned 20 on monday. thanks alex for the birthday wishes.

yesterday i was pretty wasted and couldn't play well, but today wasn't too bad. i didn't play really well, but i've hit a few really good links. like one was midstring pixie whirl>barfly>pdx whirl and one run was really good. i can't remember it, but it had those links in it: pdx whirlx4, barfly>pdx whirl>barfly and then pdx whirl>torque>pdx whirl. i think only one new link: motion>pdx whirl
another link i haven't tried in a while was pdx whirl>symp whirl.
tried pixie whirling rake, but failed. tried motion>barfly and failed as well (twice it was really close though).

cool thing was that one new guy came to our training-session. i showed him toe stalls and then again. when i showed him the toe stalls again (because he was doing them in the wrong way), he was really angry at me. what the fuck? i was trying to be nice and care about new players. :(

Had a good session with mathias yesterday. He cahllanged me to hit eggbeater bsos, because I've never hit flip eggbeater before and I've hit it :)

After mathias left I was hanging around in the mq and some dudes started a hack-circle next to me and they played with a planetfootbag-bag :) I had no plans for the evening so I joined the circle and ended up hanging around with them the whole evening. Footbag is cool 8)

At the next session it's time for a new 6add: blurry torque

i'm in denmark right now.
today i had my second shred-session with the danish footbag crew.
on monday i played with lise and tobias and today i played with lise and kim.
i really love playing with lise! it's so inspiring and just so much fun.
on monday i wasn't playing very well, but today i had some nice runs.

i was very happy about one run:
smear>ss smear>smear>ss smear>fear>ss fear>fear>ss fear>run

other than that i've hit:
motion>torque

and finally midstring atomsmasher again.

the other day i was schooling my routine by the way. i showed it to my friend twice. the result was: two drops twice.

see you. :P
