I couldn't agree more. It's a book that delves a lot into big corporations, and the scams they use through fast food. Meat packing, potato farming, health issues, etc. It's one crazy book.mosher wrote:Fast Food Nation was a trip.
I was more moved and turned off of McD's by it than I was by Supersize Me. Supersize Me just basically said it makes you fat, well obvi!
The book goes into depth showing you all the places where fast food fucks everything up.
Again it all comes down to greed, which is SO lame.

Hey.
Today I messed around in a new pair of climas. They were bigger than my others, so they made some stuff better. These are totally unmodded. First, some pics of me busting in them:

butterfly probably

probably the end of a whirl, or some double down, but then it might be the? so it could just be a lofty clipper.

pixie set, perfect placement.

killing ants, taking names. some mirage.

the ladies love me cuz im superfly. super high, probably clean.
And here's one video for ya'll. http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/8645 She had a little bit of memory left so I tried to bust. I actually did 3 ok strings, but I guess the other 2 didnt come out? Not sure.
Props to Allie my neighbor for watching me shred and taking some pics.
If you didn't notice these climas are straight up UNMODDED. Nothing done to them. They feel really weird like that, but it's fun.
Enjoy.

It's 4 AM and I am at Peter Irish's house in Maryland. I was overcome by a feeling however, and I just needed to write it down. There are so many things in life that are fleeting, and I feel like even though it might not work, trying to put what I feel into text is better than nothing at all.
This whole weekend has been amazing. But tonight really just made me realize a lot of shit about life. It made me realize how blessed I am to know the people I'm surrounded by. Whether fate or luck, footbag has been the most life changing thing I've encountered. My friendships with these people are just beyond day to day things. There's some weird connection all becuase of a little bag and a battle against gravity.
I feel so lucky to be part of the East Coast. To know who I know. To experience what I have. It doesn't matter if your a pro or a novice, the feelings that footbag brings are universal. In a world where I could be gone tommorow, it makes me feel like I've really done something with my time.
I have so many mood changes latley. I dislike footbag a lot. I think I suck most of the time. And alot of the time I dont want to go to jams. But when I get there man, you cant beat that feeling.
It scares me that life is so short. That when things are done, they might really be gone. I can't comkprehend the sadness that will come when I am not around these people. I guess I should just cherish the time I have.
This post was inspired by east coasts, the awesome people who ran it, and the awesome people who came. With each tournament I learn more about others, more about my self, and more about the game. And in the grand scheme, I've only scratched the surface. And that's why I play.
Good night from Maryland.

So i was pretty bored this morning after I woke up and I decided to go back and watch some old videos of people. But then I realized I dont really like doing that becuase i know now these combos are like, easy for them. I think thats the main problem, ive never gotten enjoyment out of watching stuff that is more than 2 years old, unless its stuff that is still elite (vasek, ryan, sunil). Idk what my problem is, but i guess i want to see more recent footage of people? But then, i never put out footage of myself so why would i expect people to do the same.
oh well.
oh well.

Hi.
I had a pretty good weekend up until like, an hour ago. Let's recap.
On friday night alex strassman came out from long island and we kicked and it was awesome. I hadnt seenthat kid in ages. I played pretty well for 2 man. Then we hung with my relatives, and then sessioned again at some tennis courts with toolan. Altogether a pretty sweet vibe.
Yesterday was my grad party and I got a lot of money to throw to a laptop. So thats good. Played more yesterday, hit some combos. Here are some I remember:
bedwetter>fusion
ripped warrior>symp whirling swirl>blurriest
whirr>symp whirling swirl>ripstein
alpine fog both sides
aracnaphobia
sumo>your mom
I felt sore yesterday, but i feel a little better today.
So my weekend turned bad when I went online to buy penn state football tickets and they are all out. 6 days and they are all gone. Shit.
Im going to find another hobby. I have too much free time.

So i was going to post this in my own thread or something but I didn't feel like getting people all antsy so i thought id just post it here and people who actually know me in real life can say what they think.
I think all this new shoe stuff is stupid. Just about being secretive, about cornering some non existant market, yada yada. I dont even know why we want a shoe. Vasek can bust in lavers, jorden and penske rip it in gunits. Whats the problem? I can understand climas if you need support and stuff, but I just dont know why people are all obsessed about some special shoe. I really dont think the shoe makes that much difference... ever. Like ok if your playing in boots yea, but i dont think new shoes would help me hit my whirrs cleaner.
who knows. i hope i eat my words when the best shoe ever comes out.

Yeah, I'd say the only reason to have different shoes is better support. Lavers have had the same soles since the 70's, and there have been umpteen technological discoveries in shoe-making since then. Climas are an example of that. Having lavers, with superior support and shock absorbtion would be hot. But if it compromised the way lavers play, I wouldn't want them either.
J. Chris "Thread-killer" Miller
That's actually not true. Up through the mid-1990s, Lavers were made in Slovenia and had a very heavy, solid rubber sole. These lavers were very durable, but were heavy. Around the turn of the century, Adidas started making Lavers in China, which had a different sole. These lavers had tiny air-bubbles injected in the sole, which made them much lighter. There was much rejoicing in the footbag community at the time, because everybody thought the lighter lavers were better. Unfortunately, this new sole composition was much less durable, and now many players (nasty nate, Sebastien Duschene, etc) complain that the soles wear out on a new pair in less than 2 months of playing. You can tell the difference between old (slovenian) and new (china) lavers by the weight, and also because China lavers have the shoe size marked on the sole, while Slovenian lavers do not.shredzilla wrote: Lavers have had the same soles since the 70's, and there have been umpteen technological discoveries in shoe-making since then. .
Back on topic, props on alpine fog on both sides! That's huge. What's arachnophobia again? Also, props on your nice Shred30 score at East Coasts.

Arachnophobia is stepping diving dlo. Like, alpine haze. Honza invented it a while back. IDK why it has that name. I think ill hit the weaving version and call it fear of ants.
And as for footage of me... Chad's dvd comes out in a few weeks. So, watch that, even though its like 6 months old.

I had a really fun time this weekend at the first Steel City Shred Off.
Thanks to:
Caleb - for putting me up the first night, and throwing the party
Caleb's roomates - for putting up with the hacky sackers
Scott - for the ride
Mahood - for ripping shit up and being cool
Brad - for holding it down with me 1 on 1 for at least 2 hours.
Jake - for organizing, making the shirts, for the sick trophy, for telling me to come.
Miller - for letting me stay in your room saturday
Dixie - for being dixie
I'd like to write some big huge thing and remember all that I saw hit but I really can't remember much. Well I can, I'm just tired. I hope some video comes out even though the footage that was taken of me was kind of butt. Whatever.
