I think it would be helpful if...There were a trick list that had moving( I dont what they call it, GIF ?) images right next to the names, something like the shred session animation, simple, cause its a pain to download... so much clickiticlack; a page you could just scroll down and see the moves in slow mo. Even better if it was searchable, like for adds, or elements; everything that starts with a certain set, or containing a the element of ducking, or spining.

Anyway, I dont know how to do such a thing, but some of you might.

One problem with that is the fact that each of those gifs would have to be downloaded when the page was to be viewed. Given that there are thousands of footbag moves, 1) someone would have to record all those and upload them and 2) to view the page you'd end up waiting like 20 minutes. Sorry, it just doesn't seem that feasible to me. Is your connection just really slow?

ok, then only a certain amount per page, whatevers feasible, or that you have to click or highlight the gif for it to start or something, its so doable, ive seen other pages with tons moving pictures, and besides, i'd wait the extra min for a list like that: nickname, jobs, description, animation, tips

Moved from Trick Tips; this doesn't really fit under asking help for a specific move

I think this sounds like a great idea, though. I can picture what you mean. I don't think it would be that hard at all, especially for someone who already has something close, like a lot of move videos, or a move list with search function.

If you want it so that you can see how to do the moves correctly then it's a bit of a waste of time, the gif would be way too small to see properly what is goin on.
I think a page with embedded media player where you can click each move name and it shows the move in fast then slowmo would be a good idea though, means you don't have to download them all.

its a footbag game google it. i like those animations, i think they show enough that you get the idea of what moves are involved, if you know your fundamentals, it should be enough, but the embedded media player might be cool too, i just want more info, less click

For more complicated moves, yes.
for the basics however, when people have no idea what something is called, I think the gifs would be good. Though this would only be for a few moves (like mirage, pickup, clipper).

If I was able to get some web hosting, I'd put a page together. My idea is something along the lines of:

move name, jobs, animated gif (lowish quality) which you can click on to get a better video + some advice on how to do the move

I think that's too choppy. You can't really see what's going on.

(And when you write the Job's for a move with a duck, do you have the '>>' before or after the duck?)

yeah, thats what I was thinking. Good to see you making a gif :D Though IMO the animated gifs would only be for easier moves, because by the time some could hit ripped warrior they would probably already know the jobs notation for moves.

The framerate is not a problem, it could easily by fixed.

If I get a camera, I will make some videos of the basic tricks, for the gifs, against a neutral background (a bit like the hackrifice vids). Now all we need to do is get a list of tricks together and some web hosting space. I am more than happy to try and put a webpage together if someone is willing to host it.

I do the ">>" after the last up time dex. If there is no uptime dex, then I use it after the "CLIP" or "TOE" or whatever.
