I'm the 2 time Southeastern Regional Champ, baby! Go SOUF!
I'm also the 2004 Pope of Chilly Town (or was it 2003? Its tough to remember because the Chilly Philly was right around the new year...)
I won Best Trick at the East Coast Championships last year, but I don't really feel like that makes me the East Coast Champion. Maybe that title is reserved for whoever wins the most prestigious contest at a given tournament, you know, like "the featured event". Like, who is World Champion? Can the guy who wins the Best Combo at Worlds call himself World Champion, or is that title reserved for the guy who wins the 2:00 minute routines (assuming they're not the same person [I can't even remember who won Big Three last year in Helsinki], which they have sometimes been).

That's fucking ridiculous. I was paid today to promote footbag as a healthy alternative to drugs (or something like that anyway - I don't know the details - just I was being paid to play footbag and it some anti drug reasons) and your school bans it because it is linked to drugs.
What is your school? Does it have a website? Does the principle have an email address. I am going to email him and tell him he is a wanker (although in a mature and civil manner - ie. I won't literally call him a wanker).

footbag was banned two years ago, just before i got here. all the skater punk kids played but yes, they did say it was related to marijuana. i dont the administrators understand this sport we play. We are however allowed to play in the afterschool hours if we are staying at the school waiting for a bus. and there was a club once but that got stopped after footbag (hackysack) got banned. we also have a new prinicipal since then, maybe he has changed his was, but i do know we are not allowed to play durring school hours, AT ALL. i have gotten caught three times and evertime they told me we arent allowed to play "hackysack."

Weird. I always play at my school, and I think the principal/vice-principals (fucking HATE the two vps) are just baffled by it. They get mad if I play inside the school when people are in the halls and shit, but if I find an empty corner while it's raining nobody seems to care.
It's funny that I'm still learning the simple, simple basics, and I'm already the best player in the school and people I've never met (this happened two days ago) were circlekicking, and said that they had heard of me being the "nuts" at "hack," which I can't say I'm too proud of, when put that way.
Also, the marijuana pothead culture is sorta mixed in with it in my school, but it depends on who.

When I was still at junior high or something like that (meaning the years 2002-2005 when I was 12-15 years old) the teachers were impressed of our skills. Back in those days there were more kickers than I and nobody, including me, really freestyled. None of the teachers would have told us to stop playing because they put value on that we did something else than just stood in circles spitting on the ground. And they regarded it as a sport.
On the other hand, we never really played inside the school building because we liked to kick outdoors. Plus, footbag wasn't/isn't connected to "marijuana pothead culture", probably because such culture doesn't really exist here.
Then, this year I've really shredded a couple of times at school, also in the school building and not just in the gym. The school staff doesn't think it would be damaging to the surroundings - our janitor actually just admired it saying "that must really take some skill".
So make footbag a sport at your school and make them see the difference between it and pothead-hackysack.

As someone who worked on that tour with skittles I would say that you are about 70% correct. Chard did help introduce footbag to the czech republic but so did alot of other people. However, said company was on interested in creating a fad and then letting footbag die just as quickly as it came. It believe that the true credit for getting vasek into footbag should go to dexter as if it was not for him the scene there would not have grown as quickly and strongly as it did.
