Piracy is RIGHT! I'm making this post without having read any of this thread. It's right especially in the case of media files and software. Those products have zero reproduction value, so they should cost nothing to reproduce. Go out door to door and peddle your art or whatever it is you're selling if you don't want to get 'ripped off.' That's like suing somene for singing a song without paying you for it. You downloaded the music from vibrations to your eardrums, and stored the information in your brain, which is nothing but an organic computer.

If you're going to market to millioins of people, then you get what you deserve. Do you deserve millions of dollars for singing 10 songs?? Wow. If you say yes to that than there is something severely wrong with you.

Chris, an album can take a very long time to create. It's an artform. They don't sit down and write the thing in a day.

What about movies? Don't tell me THEY'RE cheap to make.

And software, well, you obviously have no idea the amount of work that goes into software. Just think if you'd spent all that time creating something great and then people all over the internet claimed it was nothing and just stole it from you.

I'm making this post without having read any of this thread.

I'd suggest you read others opinions instead of just trying to convince us that yours are right.

I can speak for myself as a musician and a filmmaker. I believe in the free exchange of information. If you want to buy a hard copy of a movie or music that I made, then you are paying for the medium of information transfer, which is higher quality that what you might download. That being said, I release all of my music and my movie online for people to download free, not that many of you assholes even remembered that when I was in need, fuck you. But, back on topic, saying that downloading music is a copyright infringement is like saying that if person A bought an album and was playing it in his car, that the passenger, person B should have to pay money to hear it. I dont agree with this. And, if you think piracy is wrong, well then fuck you bitch because theres nothing you can do about it.
