Me and my roomate have made a few songs that are good for kicking. anyone want to host one of them so I don't have to sign up for yet another internet site to make it available?

I like to classify it as minimalist ambient funeral trip hop

boring...no

slow...sometimes, won't submit a slow song to a footbag comp though

depressing...yes

amount of time put in...lots

instruments...Korg ESX1 Electribe SX Production Sampler, Korg Kaoss Pad2, Korg SP 202 Keyboard

editing software...Sonar Home Studio

we mostly just record our jam sessions and I cut them into tracks. Am still looking for someone to host the song. that would be pretty cool.

So I've spent all day trying to upload this to either fizzied or a friends email, and both are struggling :? File size maybe?

I have uploaded a 130mb file to fizzied and it worked fine, I probably woulden't upload anything bigger than that though...

You an expect it to take atleast 10-15 mins to upload a 10mb file, uploads normally take longer than downloads, in some cases a looot longer.

What exactly is the problem you get when trying to use fizzied?

i browse for the file, put in my name, email, and description before clicking upload. upon upload, the bottom of the screen reads "sending request to fizzied.phasing.org". the status bar didn't move the entire time I left it to do its deal. Maybe I wasn't patient enough, but I gave it a solid chunk of time. the file size is 77.2 MB

If the file is 77mb then it could take up to 2 or 3 hours to upload, did you wait that long?

After clogging up an entire page with my stupidity, I have finally uploaded the song.

Some brief background:
I do not claim to be a musician by any means. Me and my roomate just mess around with the sampler and keyboards while recording our jam session. We actually just got these instruments a few months ago and just started learning how to use them. My alias is 'Hanz' and his is 'R-Sygnal'. that's how we got the name HanzSygnal for our jams.

the song:
This is a jam session from a few weeks ago. It's me (hanz) on the sampler and my roomate (R-Sygnal) on the keys. I was having a lot of fun adding sound effects while running the drums and some more keyboard lines. My roomate was busting some softcore keyboards.

I had a really hard time cutting this song short, so I made available a solid chunk of the session. I decided to post a pretty slow mellow song anyways, despite what I stated earlier, although it does pick up at the end. I do not expect this to place in the competition. I just wanted to put one of our songs online.

The name of the song is 'Mobius'. I just recently started hitting mobius bs and thought this song captured the mood I get from it. The slow part represents when you toss it up and hang in the air for a little bit. The song starts to pick up pretty far into the track and eventually becomes my very favorite part at 6:10 to the end of the song. the fast part at the end of the song represents the feeling received upon delaying the footbag and sealing it with a string.

Why the hell didn't you convert it to mp3? :?

The file is 77Mb because it's in wav format...and for these purposes, wav is totally unnecessary. :)

Ur right, sorry about that, I have nothing against people who choose to use drugs. I should have kept that thought to myself.

I just thought it was funny that you attributed the genre of music that you compose *directly* to your use of drugs. :)

mr crowley ive gotta be the first to agree that around 6:30 is where the song really starts to get an awesome rhythm to it (my fav part too), i can definatley tell what you mean by minimalist when it comes to the rest of the song :). personally i like it, im not one who nessecarily needs to be entertained by arpegiatting instruments for 7 minutes ;). great to shred to no matter what.

mr. regamey :sheesh: not to blatantly let you bring it BACK up but.. you reported that i *directly* attribute the genre of music i compose to drugs and AGAIN thats simply false. I said the songs were trippy because i do drugs. THAT IS MY OWN DAMNED OPINION ABOUT MY OWN MUSIC, so now my opinion gives you happy smile laughs? ("i just think its funny that....")
great man, im glad. hopefully my music will make you happier. find some other hair to split... get your last words in AGAIN if you must but please just let it be.

ive got some tracks id love to upload so as soon as i sit down and do this whole hosting shiz ill throw some of it out there ;) its nothing great but hey- im proud of it
