That's my goal too! Good luck Mahood, I hope at least one of us gets it, if not both of us.

Well, no beasts for me. I didn't even play yesterday cause I ate so much food at Bob Evans... As of today, I was planning on it. I went to study and then came back to buy some new headphones...it seems I lost my stock headphones that one night I was running around with my friend. I went to the park and was so tired I just stared at the courts in my car. I imagined hitting some different strings and decided that it was too much work and my muscles weren't going to work that way. So I came back here, and here I sit. Kettlecorn popcorn and beer, relaxing myself while listening to some music, and finishing up some studies. One more beer, and I should be nice and relaxed to sleep.

Test is tomorrow at 11:00 AM - after the written portion, I will know if I've passed that once graded. I will then continue the lab practical for another hour and be free to go... I'm relaxed, anxious, anticipating, unprepared, confident, nervous, and all sorts of conflicting emotions. All I can say is I'm goin to bed early after I look up active/passive insufficiencies.. so I can wake up bright and early @ 5 AM... After this is all over I shall have a hella load off my shoulders and relax. Go to East Coasts - shred / party and prepare again for SCSO.

Well, today was the big day. Woke up extra early to get some last couple hours of studying in...I guess it didn't make up much use. I took the written test which took me about 2.5 hours and then found out I pretty much didn't cut the grades. Definitely one of / if not the hardest tests I've ever taken. The problem was it was a test created from a prior teacher for an re-entrance exam, so a lot of the questions I've never even heard of because I wasn't taught that... I thought I was fucked after I found out my grade (76% - needed 78%) and then she said she'd call the other teacher...Kathy (pediatrics teacher that failed me). I thought I was thoroughly boned, but she said it was close enough that she would let me pass. With that said , I had to do really well on the practical portion, I got a 94%, woot, so that sealed the deal pretty well. So that means I get to go to East Coasts now that I'll be working all summer. So now I am near stress free and it feels great...soo good..light shoulders means light feet :)

After that I sessioned with Brad at City Park. Gorgeous sunny weather with a slight breeze, I couldn't complain. I tried out my new headphones, boooomb. These new headphones (Sony Fontopia) kicked major ass. They fit pretty much like earplugs so it kills all outside noise. Once they fit, they don't move and all the music goes straight to your ears, so there isn't any quality loss. I only played a little bit with them on because I hate playing with other people when I'm in my own world. Very fun session...highlights = ...nothing ? I guess I'm learning to step out of drifters, that is pretty neat. It's pretty easy on my strong stepping side, but my flip is very difficult. It feels as if I have bricks on my feet. Anyways...

2 days till East Coasts !

John called me a few minutes ago and asked me to blog that he is not even a half hour out towards east coasts and already has gotten a speeding ticket. He was going 105mph up a hill and was passing what he thought was a regular SUV, but it turned out to be a sheriff. He only got clocked at 74 since he came from behind though. It's a sign that good things are coming. Good things.

The sky filled with pink/orange/and red clouds once the sun started to fall. It gave me plenty of time to just think about everything. Night fell and that beautiful sky turned into a dark blue lit from the nearly full moon, great night for a drive. I arived in the DC area making goodtime, even though I got pulled over early into the trip. Oddly enough, my sister lives a couple blocks away from Chris Miller's place (where I crashed). I met a couple of her friends, had a beer, and then went out to Wonderland (bar/club). I gotta give some props to the DJ that was there that night. I don't remember his name, but he had some bombassed dance mixes. I didn't really dance to much or anything since I was self-conscious being there with my sister. Later into the night I had Chris meet me there and he picked me up to go sleep at his place.

Slept pretty poorly on the floor with no pillow, but oh well. Also at his place was Waylon, Chris Dean, & Mr. Clavens, pretty cool crew we had. I really had a blast all Saturday long, I was one of the first to start playing and one of the last. Seems that's how it always is when I go to events. I gotta tell myself next time to warm up and chill more, cause midway through my low back / right hip was a bit tight/sore/hurting, and then later that lead to my left knee hurting. I learned how to unicycle too ! I took a whole hour and really tried learning. I had good incentive to learn, a very cute girl named Taylor was teaching me how. I'm actually thinking about buying one for myself, maybe next time I see her I can impress her. I could pretty much get around the whole gym in one going, but it's hard when you have to avoid jugglers and multiple objects on the ground. The hardest part was learning how to get on without using support like wall or something, but I figured it out after a while. I was really suprised how much of a workout it was, I broke a pretty good sweat. I'm pretty sure I was the only person in there that was sweating cause everyone else knew what the hell they were doing (jugglers/unicyclers/etc.)

I was so impressed by everyone's level of play. I'm to the point where I'm becoming more experienced and have watched everyone's skill level rise. Kids who were struggling with tiltless / guiltless are now busting long guiltless with ease and hitting 5's, it's awesome ! While we're on the subject of progression, I'm going to try to up my level this summer. I'm going to keep my exercise sessions going for a full body workout while really skooling. Flipside is my weakness, it really holds me back when I shred. I think that is the key to consistancy is unlocking flipside. So yeah, all I have this summer is work/work/work. I plan on going to a couple places this summer - 1. Pittsburgh SCSO 2. Washington DC 3. Richmond VA.

That night was supposed to be a party at Vince's house so we stopped by. The only problem was...well, 2 problems, was there was a cat in the house and Chris is allergic to them, so am I. & #2, there wasn't a readily supply of alcohol. There was though...and epic circle of old vs newskool downstairs. I believe it was Eric W. , Peter I., Tuan V., Sunil J., & David C. (pretty dopalicious circle ehhh?) After I watched some rediculous strings we took off to Wonderland, yaaaay !!! Again, the music was super pump. Drank about 4 red headed sluts/jagerbomb/blue moon/red stripe/tequilla shot/ and was good to go ! Danced in that place till it closed. It was so much fun once I loosened up. Waylon was kinda creepin me out midway through, I would be dancin with a girl and then I'd see him creepin up on her with his mad horrible dance skills. . Not to say I'm good dancer, I prolly look like a jackass, but ohwell, it was fun !!! Got back to Miller's place, had a good peptalk with the coach and fell asleep asap. I prolly played 6 hours that day -ugh-.

Next day was a rough day to start...,but it was really great walking up the stairs to freestyle and seeing Taylor watching :) All the open routines were really great, and it was so epic to see Pete's last performance. For anyone that had the opportunity to go to East Coasts, but didn't, I'm just dissapointed in all of you. You can have your excuses, but it was the Executioner's last performance. His music choice was so memorable, he had a fellow beatboxin and playing the digiridoo(sp) at the same time. He dropped a couple times, but the routine was so on. When it was over, he prolly had an ovation for a minute or so, it was so awesome. It must be a great thing to have accomplished so much in those 20 years. It's amazing to think he has stuck with freestyle so long and when he finished, he was at the top of his game. Who the hell jugglers 3 balls on the feet and 3 on the hands...just Pete. After his performance we all expected a speech, we got it , and it went like this - "I love you all." Quite touching 4 words, and I know he really meant every word.

Anyways...I had to say my goodbyes because I was going to eat dinner with my sister. It was really great hanging with everyone at that event. I really hope to see some of them in 2 weeks at SCSO. I tried to spread the word and invite everyone. I confirmed 2 stitched donation bags, and 1 potential most likely 99% stitched bag. Also Bevier is confirmed and Clavens is sure he'll make it if his parents allow him to. One last memory was when I thought Aiden's cell phone was ringing...we couldn't figure it out. It was actually the icecream man driving towards us  Even better was when we had just about all the bap members buying from the big icecream van  Quite a site to see, icecream vans always do please people that are kids at heart.

Good times good times... And to finish off the wonderful weekend was another gorgeous pink/red/orange sky, more beautiful than the first I saw on Friday.

God, I'm a horrible dancer! That's one fact of my life everyone seems to tell me all the time.

The drinks were bombalicious, and the music was pumpin'. I need to take some dance classes.

And yeah, I sent my two bags Saturday afternoon, but I already PMed you about it. I hope you like them. :)

Oh ... my ... god ...

It's been soo long since I've gotten a nice handstitched bag in the mail...and 2 !!! Of course I'm not supposed to play with the other bag since it's a prize for the event T_T... I better just put it out of site so I don't shred it. Well, I'll report back on my shred session. I'll of course warm up with my new WayBag...sooo pimp ! Oh, maybe I should whisper this ... Brad has been playing again and he said he hit nemesis again today and ps whirl times 4...shhhh...

Road my bike over to City Park and almost wrecked midway there. I tried to ...no...I DID gap about 4 steps and a sidewalk except for one problem= I was wearing my mod'd G-units. My G-units have the tube mod on it so I can't quite fit me feet correctly in my straps. Basically, the impact slid my feet somewhat out, but they didn't come out. If they would have I prolly would have racked myself and fell off in the road 8) Tried my Waybag out a bit, kicks really great and I can see it having good potential. The bag 'looks' awesome and also boasts some nice stitching. I shall further examine tonight. Shred went well except for my headphones kept coming out  For whatever reason they would rub against my skin and my shirt and gradually pull downwards so by the end of a decent string, they'd get pulled somewhat/all the way out. Nearing the end of my session, I could see a huge black storm coming my way...I was feelin a good vibe from my song, I think it was Minibosses. So I played away until there was darkness above me with lightningh everywhere. I played until most of the park was exiting in their cars. So by that time I moved into the main basketball couts since they were empty and better lit. Played as hard as I could even though the wind was blowing the bag all around. Represented as hard as I could, but most people would have seen as a crazy kid dancing in the middle of the courts...but really I was just freestyling away. Anyways, I played well and felt good. I'm going to pull off my tubing mod tonight and redo it. I want to make it better and a bit smaller. We'll see if I come up with any decent ideas.

Game on !!

Only a couple days until SCSO ! I'm pretty pumped...so pumped that I splurged and bought one of these for myself / event -
Image

Brad and I searched long and hard all through Parkersburg for a nice flat spot, well lit, that had power I could plug into...NOTHING !! nothing worthwhile atleast. So we searched long and hard thoughout Vienna until we found ourselves back at our old stomping ground. Jackson Junior High - place the cops kicked us out of a while back. As we were walking to the school of course the very first car we see is...you guessed it...a cop car. Luckily he didn't see us or if he did, he didn't asssume anything negative out of 2 people walking up the front stairs. I'm thinking it was because I was still dressed professionally in work pants and dress shirt, but not for long...

We stretched out a bit and hooked up the iM7- thing worked wonders for audio, sound out the wahzooooo. We played so long and hard I don't remember the last time I've shred that hard, not to say I was really ontop of my game, but I was really pushing. A couple things I hit was flip ps whirl *YES* !! gyro dlo first trizy, smear > Fear > atom > rpt > , rev up > same osis > rpt > and then one more cycle into a drop, and just really pushed to where I sweat everything I had. So yeah, now I'm just about dead tired, but there is some free weights we just put downstairs so I lifted a bit to intimidate the competition at SCSO since I can't beat them. Dave brought up a good point...shred 30 is right around the corner, he said he skooled it today and knowing him it's damn near flawless... So where am I with my shred 30 ??? I HAVE NO IDEA !! I'm gonna play one more time this week and when I do , I'm going to have make something that I can be consistant with. I'd really like my first shred 30 only 2 drops or less...I know that sounds like I demand a lot for my first comp...but that just means I'll take it easy. I don't know... the reason I don't compete is because I'm not close to the competition, so I'd atleast like to get close to dropless even if it's not lots of 4's , 5's. We'll see what I can do though, Saturday will tell. No matter what... at the end of the day I'll be eating at Lu Lu's Noodles so life will be good 8)

So much to report, so little energy. Short details - super kickass weekend, pushed hard, played 13 hours or so, got 2 new footbags, hurt my back, and almost hit a deer after talking about deers on the way back from Pittsburgh.

I'm going to shower and unpack. If I feel better, I'll write up about the event and my first time officially competing.

So about that SCSO :D (skip to bottom for quick props)

Got to the Burgh Friday night and shred a bit outside. Tested out the iM7 and it blasted out the night pretty well. We played for a couple hours and headed back to Caleb's house to chill and crash. We chilled in Caleb's room and played some intense door basketball, finished off the night with a game. Of course I took first place...but I was closest to the hoop  After that I got some shitty sleep on the floor next to Caleb's bed. My back was already bothering me that night and would cause some havoc. Saturday I woke up and got to the event site a bit early to help setup. Jake and Iain took care of most everything so all I did was placed my stereo and hung around. The trophy was gorgeous, it was pure iron and a spherical artwork that one would proudly own. My ownly complaint was it had no text at all anywhere so it didn't really signify anything to the naked eye. The shirts looked really really good, very proud of the design and how it turned out. AND we had a mad Hug (fruit drink) hook up. Oh yeah, red bull stopped by and got the energy runnin pretty well. I signed up for the event and wasn't really nearly ready enough.

As people started coming in shred circles popped up in the main ballroom. The downside though was soon found out - there was a Chess tournament next door to us so we couldn't blast music - what are the odds. Soon enough it went outside to the hallway where it was a bit better lit and a better surface, also had a LOT of passerbies. Once it was time to compete we moved everyone outside for some sun and more publicity. We ran over the intermediate events first which wasn't too exciting, no offense to intermediate players. Props though to Chris Miller for hooking us up with a sponsor bag, winning first for sick one, and tying TWICE for second in sick 3 / shred 30 for the first time competing.

Next was the open competition, that was when the damned butterflies came and messed with my mindset. I had a planned 29 contact shred 30 that would score me 204 if perfected...I got to about contact 9 with 2 bails already and brain farted. As I dropped the bag I forgot everything I taught myself in the previous 48 hours, horrible feeling. Oh well, I feel I have really gotten my game a notch higher because of this event. Helping organize/ plan the event, competing for the first time, and really just shredding my ass off let me knew something was to come...hopefully. The most epic Rippin Run finals from Mr. Scott Bevier vs Mr. David Clavens went down. It was amazing, they went forever 40-50 + contacts and Dave went OFF at the end. Those 2 really inspired me to skool harder, their bothsideness, stringlength, originality, and vibe made me want to be at their levels.

Saturday my back was killin me, it felt so tight and painful if I'd bend in any direction, but I had to play through. I didn't want to make any excuses to puss out of the competition, so whatever. What mattered was I did, and the next day I was sore as hell and played even harder than the previous 2 days. 13 + hours of shred that weekend put my legs to the test, and yes, I believe I still have some potential in these legs of mine. I somehow managed to get 3rd place in sick 3 and won a huge... 10 dollars (atomic muted clipper > rev up > ss symp whirl).

That energy draining day was filled with ... Lu Luuuuu's ! We were a bit late and very hungry, so Caleb, Brad, Clavens and myself ordered up some mighty fine noodles. Every one had their plates infront of them...except myself ! I looked over and noticed that Clavens plate looked kinda like what I ordered, but didn't think anything of it. I guess when Clavens heard pork, he just called it a.s.a.p. So there was a pretty good mix up about what was going on and we had to convince the waitress that we weren't trying to theive a free meal.

That night was followed by some good partying over at Caleb's, lots of beer and people. I had my own lil stash so I made a couple drinks for anybody that wanted some. At the end of the night I walked some random girl home and then when she tried to explain how to get back to the party...well, I got lost. I was walking around Pittsburgh for 2 hours and midway through gave up to get some O-fries. I tried to ration my fries and just walked around Pitt until my stomach couldn't take it any more. I gave up looking for the party because my cellphone cut out and died when I was getting directions from Caleb. I managed to get directions from some random people when it started to rain. I finally saw Holiday Inn...except it was across 2 streets and an empty fenced parking lot. Needless to say, I climbed the fence and ran for it.

Sunday was a pretty chill day where I thought I wouldn't have any working muscles. I warmed up with some 4-square and started shredding soon after. It was pretty cool shredding in the hall way cause we had tons of people walking by and watching, 2 people with big cameras snapping shots, and Jake taking footage. Some new shit I hit which I was very pleased was : void, ducking pdx. mirage > toe gyro mirage, pdx dlo > toe spinning osis, fairy eggbeater > Symp double over down > SCREAMING YEEAAAAH, diving ss symp mirage bs, bedwetter (Finally!!), ripstein twice, and maybe some other things. The last day of shred was a ton of fun and had a great vibe to it. I felt that Brad, Bevier, myself really pushed each other well. I would just spit out crazy combos for bevier and then they'd be animated right infront of me, an amazing thing to see. I'm pretty sure I was the last man standing and probably the sorest man in Pittsburgh.

It sucked leaving everyone and saying goodbye, and I knew the drive home would be tiresome. It wasn't too too bad except for this one incident. I was talking to Brad how much it'd scare me to hit a dear and if I did, I wasn't covered for that on my insurance. I think this conversation came up because I saw one on the side of the road... Well, no less than 5 minutes later I see one prancing across the road infront of me and I had to swirve to miss the guy goin 70 mph, I may have had a heart attack. Anyways...time for some props :P

Props to:

- Jake M. for really taking a lot of responsibilities and making sure things happened.
- Caleb for crash space, hosting the event, and being the President of Pittsburgh
- All 32 bag donations (Chris, Way, Aiden)
- 4 square club for hooking us up with a nice venue and some mad huggies hookups.
- Nathan for my new awesome 32 - and another prop for some seriously impressive shred.
- Miller for rippin for his first competition and donating an awesome bag.
- Brad for going to the event and being a good friend.
- Clavens and Bevier for being inspirational and representing to the fullest.
- All the players that made the time and effort to coming out and making it a great event.
- and Lu Lu's for very delicous food.

- *Cheers*

Then F*ing organize some! Seriously, I don't EVER want to hear you complaining about the amount of tournies in Japan. When I got there, there were:

0 tournaments ever held in Asia.
0 guiltless shredders (0 tiltless either) in Japan.
Less than 7 total players in all of Japan.

2-4 tournaments a year in a country smaller than California is pretty good. If you want more, organize them.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, I came here to give Mahood props on his tourney write-up. The part I liked the best was when you were running across empty lots, lost in Pittsburgh. That's the kind of experience that makes you REALLY love footbag. Whatever happened with the lady though? What did you end up scoring in Shred30? It took me ages before I got the hang od Shred30s, so just keep competing.

Gotta love HooD for his drinking.
